Stephanie's POV
I could feel his intense stare from afar. First, he brings his lover home, and when I don't react and leave them, he stares at me as if I am a criminal.
"So that's what she said." The guy who was assigned to mentor me continued his pointless talk. I could only laugh as if this was the most interesting thing I had ever heard.
He had good looks, nowhere close to Cliff. Cliff had his ways that sucked you in. His dark eyes were soul-sucking—just one look and your throat became dry, air left your lungs, your heart stopped beating, and all your brain processed was how beautiful of a man he was.
Nolan continued with his jokes, while I continued fake laughing out of respect. He was the director. I don't like working, but in no way do I like being known as incompetent.
