Chapter 108 - Chapter 108: Analysis

Kadoc and the others were lent several dorm rooms thanks to Yaga's consideration.

There were hardly any people around, but the dorms themselves were plentiful.

Each room was spacious and comfortable enough that you could practically settle in and live there.

"Is it really okay for me to sleep with him?"

In a room at the far end of the dorm, BB asked as she looked at Raiko and Ushi-gozen standing across from her.

Kadoc was currently waiting in the next room over.

He was unpacking, washing up, and getting ready to take a nap.

"You've spent the least time apart from Master, and this matter revolves around you. I'd say you've earned the treatment," Raiko said.

"I'm grateful, of course... but do you feel the same way, Ushi-gozen?"

"This may not be enemy territory, but as his guard, I cannot afford to relax while we are away from home."

Who would stay by Kadoc's side?

Raiko and Ushi-gozen had agreed to choose BB for that role.

They had spent well over ten years with him.

BB had not.

She had only just joined them.

It was strange that, unlike back in Chaldea, her affection for Master had grown excessive...

But this was not the first time something like that had happened.

Whether it was due to some outside influence...

Or simply a change of heart brought on by a shocking experience, they could not say.

They did not know, but there was no real need to.

For a Servant, devoting both body and soul to Master was only natural.

"Then would you two stay by Senior's side for a little while? I'm going to investigate that Itadori boy."

"If it's for that, then it can't be helped. Do you think it'll be over quickly?"

BB tilted her head as she looked at Raiko.

'Quickly, huh...'

The technique for diving into someone's mental landscape was flawless in itself.

The problem was that this was not a digital world, but if necessary, she could tune it to reality.

The only thing she could not say for certain was how long that adjustment would take.

It might be fast.

It might be slow.

"I can't promise that, but I'll do my best to finish as quickly as possible. Work like this is always better when you wrap it up fast."

"Wise words. There's nothing better than ending things swiftly and cleanly."

"I agree with Raiko," Ushi-gozen said. "That said, I do not mean to pressure you, so please don't take it that way."

Both Raiko and Ushi-gozen nodded in full agreement.

"I don't think that at all, so it's fine. Then I'll be off."

BB stepped outside with a light smile.

She was wearing the modern clothes Kadoc had bought for her, but once they were alone, she intended to change back into a dress.

Her current outfit was attractive enough as it was...

But she knew Kadoc found her even more alluring in a dress.

'Clothes should suit the person wearing them, but I should suit Senior's tastes.'

BB was the latecomer.

And not by a little.

She was more than ten years behind.

To close a gap that large, she had to be more provocative.

More precise.

She had to strike directly at what he liked.

BB walked through the unfamiliar corridor toward where Itadori was.

There was no Magical Energy to trace, but she picked up his distinctively vivid life-sign.

It was her first time at Tokyo Jujutsu High, and she had only just arrived, yet she moved without the slightest hesitation.

As if she had lived and eaten here for years.

After walking a while, BB entered a fairly large building.

It was the athletic field, complete with a running track.

'There he is.'

At the center of the track, on the grass field, she spotted Itadori exchanging blows with someone.

His sparring partner was Fushiguro Megumi.

Neither of them was using much Cursed Energy, and Itadori was holding back as well.

The point was simply to get him used to hand-to-hand combat.

There was no intention of actually hurting each other.

"Excuse me~"

In a cute, lilting voice, BB called out to the boys absorbed in training.

Megumi and Yuji both turned to look at her.

Of the two, Itadori spoke first.

"Huh? Weren't you the one from earlier...?"

"Yes, that's right. I'm the one you saw before. Not exactly a person, but you can just think of it that way."

BB smiled sweetly and walked up to Yuji.

AI, SE.RA.PH, cyber space...

Rather than ramble on about things he would never understand, she gave him a simple answer and moved on.

BB's ample chest swayed lightly, and her hair streamed in the air like a scene straight out of a comic.

"Uh, so... what did you need?"

"Things were hectic earlier, but I want to scan you a little so I can fine-tune the technique. Would that be alright?"

"Scan? Like... getting an X-ray or something?"

"Close enough. There's nothing wrong with your body, so you can relax."

"Ah, okay. But can we do that here? Or do we need to go somewhere like the infirmary...?"

"The location doesn't matter much. It's not like I need any special equipment."

It would have been nice if she had equipment, but she could manage without it.

Anything here would fall short of BB's standards anyway.

'When we move into the new house, I'll have to design my own rooms however I want.'

A control room. A medical room. Things like that.

At minimum, the place needed facilities on the level of what Chaldea had, or it would be useless.

"Um, then what should I do?"

"Just stand there."

When BB raised a hand, two strange machines appeared beside Itadori.

They had square heads mounted on support frames.

Flash. Light poured out from the heads, which looked like old spherical monitors.

The glow was soft, not bright enough to hurt the eyes.

"Whoa..."

Itadori stared blankly at the pale violet beams moving up and down over his body.

It felt like he had stepped into the future.

The light recorded every scrap of information in Itadori and transmitted it to BB.

Nothing was visible on the surface, but every bit of data was being captured without omission.

"Hmm. Hmm."

BB organized the stream of information flowing into her mind in real time.

At the same time, data visible only to her eyes arranged itself in layers.

For a super AI, it was simple work.

"Got it."

BB snapped her fingers, and the machines emitting light vanished.

As if the light itself had scattered and dissolved.

"Oh, they disappeared."

Yuji's eyes widened at the sight.

From start to finish, the whole thing had been unbelievably fascinating.

"Thank you for cooperating."

"Huh? That's it? Nothing else?"

"Yes, that's all. I'll let you know as soon as I have the results, so just take it easy and rest. You probably won't be getting any missions for a while anyway."

BB did not know the details of the higher-ups' internal situation, but she had read the flow perfectly.

For them, and for us alike.

The most important task right now was finding a way to erase Sukuna completely.

Itadori had noticed that too.

With all the commotion surrounding him, or rather Sukuna inside him, there was no way he could miss it.

"Ah. Because of Sukuna?"

"That's right. So for the time being, don't go anywhere. Rest quietly, avoid creating variables, and just leave your body to us. Easy, right?"

"Easy, sure... but couldn't you do it as fast as possible? Feels kind of weird if I'm the only one just loafing around."

Itadori asked with an awkward expression.

He felt bad toward Megumi and Kugisaki.

And toward BB too, since she was the one doing the real work.

BB smiled at Yuji.

She liked the way he showed a genuine willingness to sacrifice himself.

"How admirable. I want to finish quickly too, so I'll hurry as much as I can. Well then, I'll be going."

"Ah, okay. Goodbye."

BB left to the sound of Yuji's farewell.

Megumi silently lowered his head as well.

'A god from ancient myth. Oni. And now something out of the future. I seriously have no idea anymore.'

Megumi shook his head as he thought over the Servants one by one.

They had been hard enough to understand before, but this time it was even more dizzying.

Still, it was not a bad thing.

It was the only possible means of resolving Itadori's current condition, so his expectations were high.

By nature, being a Jujutsu Sorcerer meant staking your life.

People died all the time, but ever since Kadoc arrived, things had felt strangely easier.

In fact, the overall death rate had gone down.

The frequency of encounters with Cursed Spirits had dropped noticeably as well.

As a result, the number of civilians lost to Cursed Spirits had also decreased.

From around ten thousand a year to roughly seven thousand.

It had not vanished completely, but cutting the number by three thousand was still enormously encouraging.

It meant the burden had eased by that much.

And if Itadori could be freed from Sukuna's threat, that burden would lessen even further.

Sukuna's technique. His inborn physical power.

And on top of that, the instinct to land [Black Flash] almost whenever he felt like it.

Maybe not now, but he would absolutely reach Grade 1.

If he fully mastered Sukuna's technique, he might even aim for Special Grade.

Sukuna's technique, [Malevolent Shrine].

If a simple yet vicious technique like that were fully unleashed, it could topple a nation.

When I opened my eyes, the room was packed with all kinds of cutting-edge machines.

There was a bed that looked like something you'd use for an MRI scan.

There was even a machine overhead with a camera attached, something that looked capable of taking X-rays.

'This is BB's work.'

I rubbed my eyes and sat up.

Waking up to this felt as disorienting as being reincarnated into another world.

'No, wait. Is it? Is it not...?'

Then again, the more I thought about it, the less confusing it seemed.

I'd already gone through one life of possession and reincarnation in the world of Grand Order.

And another in Jujutsu Kaisen.

At this point, after two separate transmigrations, wasn't this basically just everyday life?

"Oh my. Senior, you're awake?"

BB, who had been fiddling with the machines, flew straight into my arms.

Her chest was heavy, but the rest of her body felt light.

More precisely, she only felt light because my own physical strength had increased that much.

This was exactly why materializing the soul was so useful.

"Yeah. But did you stay up all night? From the look of you, you didn't sleep at all."

"Servants don't need sleep. And if I wanted to rest comfortably by your side, Senior, it seemed best to finish the task first."

Peck. Since she was already close, BB stole a light kiss.

The touch of her soft lips left me momentarily dazed.

On top of that, she was sitting on me, so I could feel the softness of her flesh and the full weight of her body.

And, as a bonus, BB's distinctive scent wrapped around me.

"How's the work going? Smoothly?"

I changed the subject before things got out of hand.

At a hotel, maybe. But stripping each other down in the Jujutsu High dorms felt like a bit much.

"Yes. Thanks to staying up all night and working hard, I got everything set up pretty quickly. You see that bed over there, right?"

Still perched on top of me, BB turned her head.

The sway of her heavy chest was way too close.

Even so, I'd gotten more used to women by now, so I forced my eyes away.

Funny how delinquent-style life experience helped at times like this.

"I see it."

"We'll lay Mr. Itadori on that bed, then use the pad beside it to decide which Servants will perform the dive. Of course, I'll be handling all the settings myself."

"Like what you did with Sessyoin Kiara?"

"Yes."

Seeing BB's smiling face brought back memories of the CCC collaboration event.

The final boss had been Sessyoin Kiara.

She'd been monstrously vicious when she first appeared, which was why the event shop let you buy debuff effects.

Reduced attack resistance. Reduced maximum HP. And so on...

If you wanted a hard fight, you went in with no debuffs at all.

If you wanted to make it at least somewhat easier, you piled every debuff on her that you could.

But if we could apply those same debuffs to Sukuna?

Then we'd have won before the fight even started.

"This might end up being easier than I thought."

"It's only possible because the magical rank involved isn't especially high. I tried to recreate an environment as close to cyber space as possible, but this is still reality, you know? It was a little difficult."

"That's not something you should downplay. You worked hard."

"Right? In that case, I think your hardworking junior deserves a reward. What do you think?"

BB looked at me with a smiling gaze.

It was the same beastlike look other Servants sometimes showed.

"What would you like?"

"Mmm. Isn't that too sly? Things like this only have value when you think of them yourself and give them to me. You can't ask me for the answer."

Even if she'd become much more obedient, BB was still BB.

That mischievous streak that liked putting people on the spot clearly hadn't disappeared.

I thought for a moment, then came up with a reward that seemed appropriate.

This should be fine, right?

"Then let's go on a trip together. Just the two of us."

"What? Really?"

For an instant, BB's eyes went wide.

Apparently the offer I'd thrown out was far bigger than she'd expected.

"Really. Not a trip to some Singularity. A real trip. Overseas or domestic, doesn't matter. We'll go wherever you want, BB."

"You really mean it? You're not lying, right? You can't cancel later, okay?"

Whatever composure she had vanished from her face.

She was completely serious.

"Of course. I wouldn't lie about something like that."

"Great! Then let's hurry up, finish this, and get back."

BB slipped out of my arms, her eyes shining.

The sheer enthusiasm in her face was oddly reassuring.

Still.

"What time is it right now?"

"Uh... 6:17. In twenty-four-hour time."

"Then let's go wake him up a little later."

It was still too early even for breakfast.

It was far too soon to drag Yuji out of bed, so we decided to wait a bit.
