DON'S POV
The room became very quiet as I squeezed my arm tightly on the armrest. Like a man who hadn't just heard the most devastating news of his life, I placed my feet on the floor, the cold blood on the floor staining my boot underneath. I didn't care. That didn't matter right now. Not when my empire was at stake.
Eliana could deal with the blood and the dead man for now. I needed to deal with my business and it required privacy.
"Follow me," I said rising from the seat and the man who had delivered the news followed immediately without question.
I walked straight to my private study where I'd have more control over what came next. Away from her eyes. Away from everything that didn't need to be present for this conversation.
"Pass me the lighter," I said taking a seat at the head of the table.
He nodded, retrieved the lighter from the cabinet beside the door and stayed still waiting.
