ELIANA'S POV
The silence didn't last long.
I had barely settled into the bed, my body stretched across the soft sheets, when the door opened.
Just like that. Without warning. Without permission.
My eyes didn't even open immediately, but my mind registered it all the same, the faint creak of the door, the shift in the air, the presence that didn't need announcing.
Of course.
I really need to start locking this door.
A quiet exhale left me as I pushed myself up, resting my weight on my elbows before sitting fully upright. The soft fabric of what I wore shifted slightly against my skin, the neckline dipping just enough to remind me I wasn't exactly covered.
Not that he cared.
"You really should start knocking," I said, my voice calm but edged with irritation as my gaze finally met his.
He didn't answer immediately.
He just stood there watching.
His presence filled the room in a way that felt intentional. Like he knew exactly what he was doing just by standing still.
