Kaden walks in front of the TV and looks down at his drunken mom.
"Ayeee.. Why.. Why aren't you at.. At school..?"
She darted his focus to a bottle of while whilst she squinted her eyes. She moved her hands towards it with a delayed, heavy motion. Kaden quickly grabbed the bottle and pulled it away from her.
"Mom, what do you want for dinner..? I ain't got all the time in the world, so hurry up."
She thought profusely as a violent hiccup forced out of her mouth. She tried to stand up, but she stumbled and almost fell.
"Dont worry, I got ya!"
Kaden grabbed onto his mother's waist and helped her up, sitting her back down on the couch.
"Ok- It's obvious you can clearly speak or even think right now, so how does Fish and Rice sound?"
She clapped her hands and laid right down on the couch.
"Yessss!.. I'd love that, sonnn!.. I looooove you!"
He smiled, leaving the living room to walk to the kitchen.
"I love you too, Drunk Bastard."
He walked to the fridge and opened up the connected freezer, near instantly grabbing 5 vacuum-sealed Tilapia fillets. He placed it on the counter and grabbed a bowl, shortly after he filled it up with cold tap water. He placed the fillers in the bowl and dried his hands off.
"Ok! Done and done! Just gotta wait like 30 minutes! Hmmmm- What should I do for 30 minutes?"
He scratched his chin, and suddenly realized.
"WAIT THE CODEX! I've leveled up quite a bit since it first like- appeared! So if its like a video game I must've gotten some Stat Points to use! But how do I use em?"
The Codex's screen popped up instantly in front of him.
"STATS! 5 Stat Points are given every level, the player[you] can allocate those points willingly VIA mental commands."
"But, what are my stats like so I know what to put them in?"
The Codex's screen changed instantly to meet his inquiry.

He instantly started to jab the air.
"YEAAA!! I FEEL MUCH STRONGER NOW! Now those punks on Barry Street aren't gonna know what hit em when they try with me!"
He later sat down at the kitchen table, scrolling through the Codex's functions and capabilities.
"This is actually cool.. It's just like Ahmad said, a Video Game. Honestly im kinda glad its not like Solo Leveling, there was just too much 'protect Sung Jin Woo' with that one. But, what do I know, he probably had it as bad or even worse than me."
As he scrolled, he saw his inventory in the Codex's screen.
"Hey Codex, open my inventory tab."
The Codex quickly followed up to do that exact thing.

"Mystery Gifts? Can you tell me what that is?"

"MYSTERY GIFT! A gift box given to a player either after a daily quest or as a random drop during a regular quest!"
He opened his hands out on the table and imagined a gift box. After he opened his eyes a wormhole appears above his hand, dropping the Mystery Gift in it.
"Wow- That took a bit longer than expected.. I really need to figure out a way to rapidly fire out stuff from my inventory. BUT, ANYWAYS, LETS OPEN THIS BAD BOY UP!!"
He pulled the ribbons from the Mystery Gift as it glowed a bright yellow color. A ring warped out of the Mystery Gift, landing onto Kaden's hand as the gift box itself dispersed into air.
"What- what is this?-"
"Skill Execution: Code Observe[Lv. 1]"
"OBSIDIAN RING! This ring increases your durability stat by ×1.5!"
"Crafting Recipe: Mana Crystal[x5], rock of Obsidian[x2], and 1 Golden Ring!"
"Huh! That's actually pretty neat!"
He slides the ring onto his ring finger as he felt a surge of pure energy course through him.
"WHOAAA! That felt goooood... Let's open up this next box!"
He conjured the Mystery Gift into his hand then pulled the ribbons as it's engulfed in light. The gift box formed into air as the light shifted into an ancient looking book.
"Huh?"
"Skill Execution: Code Observe[Lv. 1]"
"LESSER TOME OF KNOWLEGE! A book filled with the information of 2 Spells, but due to it being a 'Lesser Tome' you can only choose one! Acid Spray [or] Radiation Rend!"
"Crafting Recipe: 1 Mana Crystal and Book[x2]!"
"Wow.. ok ok.. I guess I'll take acid spray.. WAIT! IM MAKING DINNER! I SHOULD ASK IF I COULD INVITE AHMAD AND CHRISSY OVER!"
He got up from his seat and ran towards the living room, peeking from the doorframe.
"Aye Mom, can I invite Ahmad and Chrissy over for Dinner?"
She snored loudly as she slept recklessly on the couch.
"Mom. Mom! MOMMA! MA!"
She snapped up with haste, her face contorted with anger.
"WHAT! WHAT DO YOU WANT!? YOU SEE IM OBVIOUSLY TRYING TO SLEEP!"
He snapped back as his face snarled with disgust.
"OH, WHY ARE YOU SO TIRED, HUH? YOU'VE BEEN ON YOUR ASS ALL DAY LONG HAVEN'T YA!?"
They both looked at each other, both of their faces changing from anger and disgust to just plain out awkward. She sighed and stood up, somehow seemingly sobered up.
"Yeaaa.. I'm going to the bar!"
Kaden's eyebrows rose in shock.
"YOU JUST SOBERED UP, YA DRUNK! AND I'M MAKING YOU FOOD!"
She giggled slightly at him.
"WHATS SO DAMN FUNNY!?"
She walked to him and started to pet his head.
"You were gonna ask if Ahmad and Chrissy could come over for Dinner, huh? Best if i leave and let yall talk!"
He stood there at a loss of words.
"Wait- How did you know?-"
"I'M YOUR MOTHER!"
She swayed her hair to the side.
"I'm supposed to know, Kaden."
He smiled slightly and thought to himself whilst he looked in his mother's eyes.
"Maybe she'll actually be a good mother for a change.."
She walked to the door.
"Also, can you make sure you cook that fish and rice for me?"
He stopped thinking to himself as his face contorted.
"YOU LAZY DRUNK!"
She stuck her tongue out at him as she walked out the door.
"DON'T GO TO THAT ONE BAR WITH ALL THE MALE STRIPP- She's going to the bar with the male strippers.."
He smacked himself, his hand drooping from his face.
"Let's me just call Ahmad and Chrissy.."
He walked to the kitchen and sat back down at the table, pulling his phone out. He scrolled to Ahmad's name and pressed call, instantly shifting the phone to speaker. He played with some bottles of condiments on the table as the phone rang, and then, Ahmad finally picked up.
"KADEN!? YOU'RE OK!?"
"AYEEE AHMAD! You and Chrissy wanna come over for dinner?"
"No! We're not skimming over this! I saw you disappear in front of me! I thought you were sent to a Penalty Zone!"
"Oh, yeah.. I was but it wasnt that hard! I came out supreme like a king!"
"YOU WHAT!? HOLD UP IM COMING OVER!"
Ahmad shifted his phone away from him as he covered it with his hands as he yelled for Chrissy.
"BABY! BABY!"
Chrissy popped her head through the door of the room Ahmad was in.
"Wanna go to Kaden's for some dinner? I need to talk to him."
"I mean sure, I didn't wanna cook anyways."
He pulled the phone back to him, uncovering it.
"Ok, it's offical, we're coming!"
"Ask him what he's having!"
"What are you having, Chrissy asked this by the way.."
He scratched his chin.
"Fish, Rice, and something else maybe?"
Ahmad turned to Chrissy and told her what Kaden is making.
"Yea, I'm alright with that."
"Ok good!"
He turned back to his phone.
"Ok we're on our way now! And be ready to answer questions!"
Kaden snickered at the thought.
"Ok Phoenix Wright, I'll but surely to answer your questions!"
"Good!"
Ahmad hung his phone up and quickly afterwards Kaden put his phone down on the table.
"Has it been 30 minutes yet?"
He grabbed his phone and picked it back up.
"Wait- Why did I pick up my phone again?"
He placed it back down on the table and got up.
"OH SHIT THE TIME!"
He quickly grabbed his phone again and checked the time.
"Ok.. It's been 27 minutes.. That's long enough."
He walked over to the fillets and took them out of the water, laying them on the counter. He opened the vacuum seals and poured the liquid out of the packet, taking them out right after. After laying them flat on a plate, he looked in the cabinets.
"Where's the seasoning..! There they are!"
He grabbed some Salt, Pepper, Paprika, Cajun Seasoning, and Olive Oil. He quickly started to season each fillet with an equally. He walked to the oven, placing a iron skillet on the stove after turning it on. He poured oil in the skillet right afterwards.
"Where are they.."
Before he could say anything else, The Codex's screen popped up next to him.
"QUEST!: Cook Fillets for Mother without burning them![0/4]"
"OH YOU GOTTA BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!"
