Chapter 149 - We Did It!

𝐀𝐔𝐑𝐎𝐑𝐀

​A strange, breathless sound caught in my throat. Before I could stop it, a sharp, hysterical laugh escaped my lips, echoing terribly through the absolute silence of the clearing. It was a broken, dangerous sound.

​"You lied to me," I whispered fiercely into the dark corners of my consciousness, tears of rage finally blurring my vision. "You told me my mother would be proud of me." 

​A bitter wave of exhaustion washed over me, the core in my chest pulsing with a terminal heat. "Who is she, Sylpha? Who was my mother?"

​"She was a vessel of light," Sylpha began to speak, her tone shifting into that familiar, detached rhythm, weaving poetic obscurities that offered nothing but shadows. "My humble servant born to carry the weight of an epoch, chosen so that the celestial order might—"

​"Stop it!" >

The goddess's riddle-speaking drove me straight to the wall, snapping the final thread of my patience. I didn't want her cosmic poetry. I didn't want her curated lies.
