"Red-Eyes Fusion is a dedicated Fusion card for Red-Eyes monsters," Jōnouchi said. "Its effect lets me use monsters from my hand, field, and even my Deck as Fusion Materials to Fusion Summon a Red-Eyes Fusion Monster."
"What—materials from your hand, field, and Deck?!" the hunter shouted in disbelief.
"I fuse Red-Eyes Black Dragon from my Deck with D.D. Warrior—Fusion Summon, Red-Eyes Slash Dragon!"

At first the hunter was stunned—then he laughed.
"Heh heh heh… Hahahaha! Jōnouchi, I'll admit I'm surprised you summoned that monster. You are impressive. But it's still just 2800, the same as my Mazera DeVille!"
"Then you really are the idiot. Battle! Red-Eyes Slash Dragon attacks Mazera DeVille!"
Slash Dragon's eyes flashed crimson as dark-red energy gathered in its mouth.
"Jōnouchi, what are you doing?! Are you trying to take him down with you?!" Honda yelled.
"No," Yugi said quietly. "Red-Eyes Slash Dragon has another ability."
"I activate Red-Eyes Slash Dragon's effect! When a Red-Eyes monster declares an attack, I can target one Warrior in my Graveyard—treat it as an Equip Card that gives this monster +200 ATK, and equip it to Slash Dragon!"
"I equip D.D. Warrior from my Graveyard to Red-Eyes Slash Dragon—its ATK increases by 200!"

"What?!" the hunter's grin cracked.
Mazera DeVille was engulfed and burned away by Slash Dragon's blackened flames.

"This card can be equipped to a Red-Eyes monster. The equipped monster can attack twice this turn!"
"What?!" the hunter barked.
"Battle! Red-Eyes Slash Dragon attacks Dark Queen of the Flames!"
"It's my turn now—so the Queen's ATK boost wears off and returns to normal!"

"I activate Slash Dragon's effect again! I equip Red-Eyes Iron Knight—Gearfried from my Graveyard to Slash Dragon—its ATK goes up another 200!"

Slash Dragon repeated the same scorching assault, incinerating Dark Queen of the Flames.

"Is Jōnouchi… really this good?" Anzu said, stunned.
Mai was just as shocked. She'd always thought Jōnouchi was the weakest among the four—yet the duel he was showing now was dazzling. A strange brilliance flickered in her eyes.
"Honestly, Jōnouchi has everything a duelist needs," Yugi said. "After Grandpa's training, he improved incredibly fast. But the most important part… is the Red-Eyes deck Kisaragi gave him."
"Well, I gave it to him because it suited him," Kisaragi said. "But more importantly—Jōnouchi has the talent to handle it."
Hearing Kisaragi praise Jōnouchi, Kaiba felt a flash of irritation rise in his chest. His brows knitted.
"Hmph. I give you a little sweetness and you start getting cocky!" the hunter snapped.
"My turn—draw!"
"I activate Spell Card Graceful Charity! I draw three cards, then discard two!"
"Jōnouchi—now I'll show you the ace of my deck!"
"Don't tell me… that monster?!" Mai cried.
"Mai—what monster?" Anzu asked.
"It's the one that beat me," Mai said, her body trembling slightly.
"I activate my Continuous Trap Call of the Archfiend! By discarding one Fiend-type monster from my hand, I can Special Summon one Level 5 or higher Fiend from my Graveyard!"
"You're bringing back Mazera DeVille?" Jōnouchi asked.
"Heh heh heh… No. I discard this card—and Special Summon from the Graveyard… Trembling Tyrant King—Primordial Archfiend!"
The darkness on the field thickened. A demon seated itself with terrifying authority, gripping a massive crimson greatsword—an aura worthy of a progenitor of fiends.

"Big deal. It's only 3000 ATK," Jōnouchi said casually.
"Jōnouchi, be careful! I lost to that monster!" Mai shouted.
"Don't worry," Kisaragi said, resting a hand on Mai's shoulder. "That thing can't beat Red-Eyes Slash Dragon."
"What?!" Mai gasped.
"Hehehe! I activate Primordial Archfiend's effect—once per turn, I can banish one Fiend from my hand or Graveyard to destroy one card on the field!"
"What—" Jōnouchi tensed for an instant, then his expression returned to calm.
"I banish Dark Queen of the Flames from my Graveyard! And I destroy Red-Eyes Slash Dragon!"
The primordial demon dragged the Queen from the grave's shadow. As she dissolved in its grasp, the fiend raised its red greatsword and brought it down toward Slash Dragon.
"Hahahaha—die!"
"You really are an idiot! Look at your monster!" Jōnouchi snapped.
"What?!" The hunter's eyes widened.
Slash Dragon opened its jaws and fired a black-flame bullet—and in an instant, the Primordial Archfiend shattered into pieces.
"How is that possible?!" the hunter screamed.
"That's Slash Dragon's other effect," Jōnouchi said. "While it's on the field, if a card you control becomes the target of a card effect, you can send one Equip Card attached to Slash Dragon to the Graveyard—then negate that effect activation and destroy it!"
"What—this monster has that kind of effect too?!" the hunter stammered.
"So? Your ace is gone. What now?" Jōnouchi mocked.
"My turn ends." (Cards in hand: 2)
"At the end of your turn, I activate Red-Eyes Armor Spiral—Special Summon Red-Eyes Black Dragon from the Graveyard!"
