Upon concluding their observation of the adventurers' training institute, Alric, Stella, and Helga proceeded to the Adventurers Guild, intending to undertake quests during their stay in the kingdom of Skyrim. Within the Guild, Callie found herself the target of a group of B-rank adventurers, comprising two males and one female.
They were pressuring Callie to join their party, an offer she steadfastly refused, as their sole intention was to recruit someone to carry their spoils.
When Callie refused to join them, the group collectively attacked her, attempting to subdue her to steal her belongings before leaving her. At that precise moment, Alric and his group arrived to rescue her.
Alric approached and struck the three assailants from behind, incapacitating each of them with blows to their heads. The guild receptionist summoned guards, leading to the capture and imprisonment of the three adventurers. Prior to this incident, the same three individuals had been the subject of multiple complaints regarding similar activities.
Two dragonewts, bipedal beings same as humans resembling dragons, emerged and applauded Alric and his companions for apprehending the instigators. They emphasized the necessity of addressing such individuals to prevent the kingdom's swift internal ruin.
Everyone present recognized the dragonewts, identifying them as the S-rank adventurers Bale and Mone. Their widespread renown was evident from the numerous tales people recounted about their exploits.
Following this, Bale and Mone departed to undertake their quests, without further interaction with Alric's party.
Alric's group, accompanied by Callie, approached the bulletin board to select a quest. Their attention was drawn to a mining quest for a blacksmith, which they subsequently accepted. The quest specified the retrieval of approximately 100 kg of ores, to be delivered to the blacksmith within the kingdom. While mining quests are generally straightforward, the required quantity appeared substantial.
Alric's group conversed, noting the blacksmith's seemingly excessive demand for such a large volume of ores.
The reward for this quest is 1 gold coin !
Alric's group is en route to the mining site, situated at the mountain nearest to the kingdom of Skyrim. During their journey, Callie inquires of Alric about their departure date from the kingdom. Helga responds that they will be leaving the day after tomorrow. Stella then asks Callie if she will be content residing in the kingdom of Skyrim, offering her best wishes for a fruitful life there.
Callie expresses that despite living in the kingdom and undertaking numerous quests, she has yet to find a party, as no one is currently recruiting new members, leading to feelings of loneliness. Consequently, Callie declares her intention to return with them, stating she will not remain in the kingdom.
Alric, Helga, and Stella expressed their delight at her presence and their anticipation of future adventures together. This greatly uplifted Callie, alleviating the burden she had felt regarding the prospect of living in the kingdom without companions. Having shared her feelings with Alric and the others, she experienced a profound sense of relief.
Subsequently, Alric's group arrived at the mining site and commenced extracting ores. The mining operation was completed within two hours. They then took a moment to rest, discussing the remarkable utility of Alric's magic pouch and his skill in crafting mining tools, which significantly expedited the ore collection process.
Alric's group, having returned from the mine site, proceeded to the kingdom's blacksmith. The blacksmith, a male Minotaur beastkin, presented a calm demeanor and appeared highly skilled in crafting various items. He possessed a human torso and hands, the legs and head of a bull, and a tail. He stood slightly taller than typical humans and other beastkins. Notably, his stature was smaller in comparison to the monstrous wild Minotaurs frequently encountered in forests and dungeons.
Alric's group delivered the ores, much to the Blacksmith Minatour's surprise, as their request for 100kg of ores was fulfilled in a single day. The blacksmith generously compensated them for the quest, and Alric's party subsequently departed from the workshop. Concurrently, the dragonewts Bale and Mone arrived at the adventurers' guild with a colossal, worm-like creature. They proceeded to submit their hunting request for an S-rank monster known as the Mimic Worm.
The name of this monster accurately reflects its nature; it can mimic its surroundings, appearing as a tree, the ground, or even flowing water. It sometimes presents as a massive underground hole, awaiting unsuspecting beings to approach within striking distance before ambushing them.
The Mimic Worm possesses no specialized skills; instead, it devours its prey whole. Once ingested, the acidic contents within its body rapidly decompose the creature, leading to its demise within 15 to 20 seconds.
The Mimic Worm presents a significant challenge, with only a select few S-rank individuals capable of distinguishing it from its surroundings. According to the quest parameters, a single Mimic Worm was sighted near the kingdom. For successfully hunting this creature and completing the quest, the two dragonewts received a reward of three gold coins.
In a separate incident, the three adventurers who previously assaulted Callie at the adventurers' guild are now incarcerated in the kingdom's jail. Within the confines of this jail, a dark event transpired: all incarcerated individuals were tragically drained of their life force, resulting in their deaths in a particularly insightful manner.
A mysterious individual, who shared a cell with the aforementioned misbehaving adventurers, utilized an unorthodox method to acquire power by sacrificing the life of all jailer. Subsequently, this individual escaped from the jail and vanished into the sky. Those three adventurers also died with these cells.
The notice was sent to the king by the gaurds who were not affected by it, somehow?
