Chapter 323: Jura the Clown

Reflected in Ryuu's awe-struck gaze, a crimson slash detached from the blade, transforming into a soaring, incandescent crescent.

It ignited the air and made space itself wail wherever it passed. A massive crystal pillar standing in its flight path failed to impede it in the slightest, cleanly and silently sliced in two. The red crescent sailed with an unrivaled presence straight toward the Juggernaut, which had just taken a half-step back and had yet to regain its footing.

Unable to comprehend what a Lumina Slash was, much less understand this attack born of a swordsman's peak mastery, the Juggernaut naturally perceived this flying slash as some form of long-range magical attack.

Its already tattered pitch-black armor instinctively flared with that familiar blue-purple glow. It activated Magic Reflection.

And then...

Everything exploded.

The newly regenerated, fang-like giant claw, along with its remaining right arm, was instantly consumed by the deafening detonation of crimson flames. That eerie blue-purple glow was like snow melting beneath a harsh sun, thoroughly painted over and erased in an instant by the far more tyrannical, scorching flash of fiery colors.

Accompanied by a crisp, teeth-aching crack, the supposedly invincible Destruction Claw shattered. Countless black and purple shards resembling shattered glass scattered wildly in every direction.

The last time, it was Ottar.

This time, it was Aiden.

Once again, it had lost a limb. The right arm that had met the slash was cleanly and utterly severed, vaporized along with its shoulder by the crimson crescent, turning into dust that faded into nothingness.

Screech—!!!

The Juggernaut let out a bizarre, high-pitched shriek that sounded like grinding metal. It was no longer a roar of fury, but rather a cry... weeping with agony and terror.

The residual might of the flaming slash blew its right arm and Destruction Claw into oblivion. That devastating power and frenzied kinetic force transferred right through its shoulder, brutally ravaging the entire right side of its body.

Because it was born with exceptionally enhanced attack and agility, its durability was extraordinarily low. Just the aftershock of this single strike sent horrifying fractures and damage spider-webbing across its flank and back.

That pitch-black outer shell peeled off in massive chunks, rattling to the floor like porcelain struck by a heavy hammer.

The Juggernaut's gaunt, fossil-like body suffered ruinous destruction. Smashed into the hard crystal floor by the irresistible recoil of the explosion, its massive frame scraped and tumbled along the ground, plowing a deep trench before it finally, miserably, came to a halt right in the center of the cavern.

Looking at the monster collapsed on the ground, shrieking sharply and writhing in agony, Aiden slowly narrowed his flaming eyes. Then, he raised the Godslayer: Surtr once more, ready to step forward and deal the Calamity its final blow.

But right at that moment.

A one-armed figure agilely leaped out from behind a massive crystal pillar nearby. With an almost fanatical fervor, he jumped directly onto the body of the agonizingly writhing Juggernaut.

"Haha... Hahahahaha! It worked! I finally succeeded!"

It was Jura.

This man, who had been hiding in the shadows since the battle began, watched the entire soul-stirring confrontation between Aiden and the Juggernaut, finally finding this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get close to the beast.

At some unknown point, a magic item resembling a collar glowing with a sinister red light had appeared in his hand. He seized the moment while the Juggernaut was critically injured and unable to resist, locking the collar tightly around that pitch-black, emaciated neck that resembled a dinosaur fossil.

"I really have to thank you all! I was just agonizing over how I'd manage to tame this thing... You guys did me a massive favor!"

Jura's face contorted into a triumphant grin. He turned his head, looking at Aiden and Ryuu in the distance with the smug posture of a victor.

"Now, this guy... belongs to me."

Jura trembled with excitement, his face full of ecstasy. This was the moment he had dreamed of, the instant his greatest wish was fulfilled.

Even though this Juggernaut had been completely dominated by Aiden from start to finish, and had even lost an arm, it didn't matter. In his eyes, the Juggernaut had only just been born and possessed limitless potential for growth.

As long as he trained it well and fed it massive amounts of Magic Stones, the Juggernaut's unique traits guaranteed it could become hundreds, thousands of times stronger than it was now. When that time came, he would definitely make it repay today's humiliation tenfold.

Just like the other monsters he had tamed in the past, feeding them enough Magic Stones always made them stronger. The Juggernaut would certainly be no exception.

"Stand up, let's go!"

Jura glanced at Aiden in the distance, noticing that the man was standing completely still, looking at him with a very bizarre gaze... almost as if he were looking at an idiot.

But Jura didn't think much of it; he excitedly cracked the long whip in his hand, beginning to command his "newly tamed" pet.

The whip in his hand instantly resonated with the collar on the Juggernaut's neck, simultaneously bursting with a blindingly intense red light. The crazed, malfunctioning magic tool forced the half-destroyed Juggernaut to violently shake its body over and over again...

Then, its massive body actually, slowly... stood up.

"Good, exactly like that! Hahahahaha!"

Seeing that the Juggernaut was actually obeying his commands, Jura was overjoyed to the point of madness, reveling in absolute triumph.

But the very next moment.

A pitch-black, spear-like tail covered in bone barbs silently and violently whipped out from behind him.

Jura suddenly felt his vision rapidly dropping downwards. He struggled to turn his head. Then, he only saw... his own severed lower half, frantically spurting blood.

Ah, so familiar...

That final, darkly humorous thought was all that had time to flash through his mind. Then, his consciousness sank entirely into eternal darkness.
