They were still in the classroom, Elan's brow raised in shock and surprise, Suje's appearance was stunning and her voice was beautiful and captivating but hearing Moonlight's voice was nothing short of mesmerizing. This was the second time he heard that soft, enchanting monotone. 'Am I gay? No no. Snap out of it, Elan!'
"U-um the library," He staggered. For the first time in Elan's life, he searched to find words to bring out. "Ok," replied Moonlight.
While Elan was lost in thought, Moonlight turned to the window, letting the sunlight hit his face. His hair fluttered beautifully, with Rowl being the only abnormality on his body. Elan watched this. For a split second, he forgot about his future plans.
"Oh Elan, where is Daniel?" But thanks to Suje's voice, he regained his touch in reality. Suje's eyes noticed that subtle fluctuation in Elan; something that never happens. Curious, she narrowed to his side and slightly, her eyes widened. 'He was here?'
"Huh? Ah…can't tell." Elan answered.
"Huh?" This wasn't Suje, but it was the whole class that said this in unison. Elan is hiding something, they could tell.
"Ok…Alright that's all for today. See you all next week."
The class groaned as she announced her early leave, but what could they do; she was a teacher and they were simply students. Her leave marked the end of school, what was left was the sounds of the bell ringing. Moonlight then rested on the school's desk in preparation for his afternoon rest.
"Does that thing not leave your head?" Elan asked, referring to the little rowl on Moonlight's head.
"Why should it?" Moonlight asked.
"Hm, nothing," Elan said before quickly leaving the classroom, running in pursuit of Mrs. Suje.
By evening, when the school had dried up, Moonlight woke up at the exact time he did the other day. From the relieved face on Rowl, one could tell that nap was peaceful as hell. Same as the other day, Moonlight vaulted through the window, looked to the grass field, then sneakily walked past the guard in an instant.
In no time at all, he was already face to face with the Adna's house black gate.
Meanwhile on the perfectly mowed grass-green field, rested Daniel, huffing and puffing relentlessly in an attempt to regain as little energy as possible; the change was sudden and he knew it. The only thing remaining was the regret which filled his heart.
'Stand up Daniel. No one can catch you lacking.' Daniel thought to himself, completely unaware that Elan was currently making his way towards him.
~huff puff~ Using the spare time, he stared at the evening sky. Clouds forming shapes, the sun casting a yellowish glow, and him beneath this all, witnessing the beginning of evening. "What were you doing?"
"Huh…Ow," Daniel yelled in pain, Elan threw at him a bottle of water. Like he needed it, Daniel chugged it down in one go. His relieved sigh told he truly needed that.
"What were you even doing?" Elan asked once more, right before sitting beside Daniel.
"Nothing," Daniel replied. He could tell him how this started, and also, he can never say that he failed a test where he only had to run a hundred meters without tripping more than three times. He failed miserably, the tiny dusts on his face was proof; proof that his frontal body had kissed the ground hundreds of times.
"Then why are you so teary?" Elan asked once more
To dodge that question, Daniel's face glared differently, causing him to notice a little detail on the water bottle he just drank. "Elan! Th-this is plastic. It's expensuuum…"
"Shhh, keep it as a huge little secret okay?"
"O-okay?" replied Daniel.
"Hey, I'm hungry." Elan added.
"Do I look like a personal chef?"
As they continued, they had their usual friendly interactions, not too much laughs, but at least they found something to pass the time. From a window in the school building, green eyes gazed at them differently; it was watching them from the very beginning.
"Can't get eyes off your only two talents?" said the voice of a female.
"That class holds too many talents; it's just that education isn't one of them." Victor replied, turning his gaze over to the mysterious female.
"Yes yes. That's why we hate that class. I just hope that Adna will cause a 100% change in them." The woman said, whispering into his ears.
Victor returned to his past focus, then, he said, "The only change they will get is physical. From the look on those faces, that entire class has locked in."
Chuckling softly, the lady gave a last word before disappearing into the shadows. "That's what they always say."
The scene fades quietly like morning and night, casually switching from the school's perspective to the happenings of the Adna household. Febia groaned. On the parlor's couch, there she sluggishly laid, lamenting on what else to do. 'Life is boring,'
"You do know that if you never came along with us, your life would've been far worse than this, right?" With a special tone, Phoenix walked in.
Febia sneered at her. She thought in her mind, 'I'm not about to hear an advice from a son fanatic.'
"My sons are my flesh and blood. Wait, do we even have…" She sat vertically from Febia. Finally taking her seat on a three person couch; designed specifically for her and her sons.
Febia hid her face. From experience, talking to Phoenix was the most satisfying thing one could ever wish for. Listening to her voice, the topic she spoke; was heaven. But, right now, Febia wanted to think. If she started a conversation, she would be so immersed that she would forget herself. Also, Phoenix always has the upper hand in talks. 'Even if I feel like I'm above, something tells me it's just her doing.'
I'll stay out of it. Febia decided that was the sole right thing to do.
Just then, the glass door opened, welcoming the cold breeze into the house. Febia shivered, but the presence of Moonlight negated that feeling. His face was expressionless as ever.
"How was your day?" Febia asked.
"How was yours?" Moonlight asked rather than answering.
"Oh nothing; I'm living with two unreadable characters that only show emotion once in a blue moon. I kind of miss when you rage each time you see a book without an ending. Yes, my day was—Wait!"
Confirming from Febia, Moonlight walked towards Phoenix, greeted her and made a detour to his room.
"Oh, no drama today," Febia wailed.
"Moonlight! Please wait! How was school?!"
Just then, Phoenix returned back to default settings and Febia let out a relieved sigh.
Evening came and left, passing the baton over to night and from night to morning. From showers of raindrops, to a heavy rain mimicking the sound of lightning, from night to early mornings; Moonlight made his way to school, reaching the compound without a sliver of rain drop on his tiny body.
Victor arrived earlier, completely drenched. His new suit was now completely done for. 'I can't let that woman catch me lacking.'
In the class of 10, Moonlight felt the emptiness pass through his non-existent soul. Rowl could not survive at the speed he moved, so he left it with his dear mother. Wasting no time, he headed towards the library.
At a special building in the academy's compound, where the rough smell of un-opened books, the land of Moonlight's dreams, and also, the room where fantasies lay. This was the school's library; the only place involved with books in the entire school.
Moonlight gazed at the building of his dreams.
In a room where fantasy lay, drenched in rain, soaking in blood, eyes peered at who Moonlight intended to meet, the irritating smell of blood and also, the quiet cries of a humble librarian.
~Creak~
Silently, the huge door opened.
