After absorbing energy to its limit, Shimizu's soul-form underwent a qualitative change, just as he had expected.
He had taken human shape again.
That was truly an unexpected surprise.
More than that, he realized the true nature of this energy.
It was chakra.
Chakra had actually crossed over into this modern world together with the soul of Shimizu Uzuki.
It was a scene so strange that it almost felt unreal.
What Shimizu did not understand, however, was why chakra that had only just crossed over had already spread across more than half of Huaguo, and perhaps even the entire world.
Such a rigorous academic question could be left for careful consideration another day.
More importantly, if possible, Shimizu still wanted to become a true human being again.
Although he had regained a human shape, his essence was still only a soul that had absorbed a tremendous amount of chakra.
So… what method was there?
In an instant, Shimizu thought of Yin–Yang Release.
Yin–Yang Release, as its name suggested, was simply the combination of Yin Release and Yang Release. Yin Release used spiritual energy to create concrete forms out of nothing, while Yang Release used physical energy to inject chakra or will into inorganic matter, giving it life.
According to legend, the Sage of Six Paths had used Yin–Yang Release to create the tailed beasts, and Naruto had once used it to create a new eye for Kakashi.
In other words, Yin–Yang Release was a technique capable of creating all things and granting life to them.
Just like the Samehada that had once existed inside his body.
Perhaps, back then, in order to survive, it had truly only become an organ within Shimizu's body. However, the Tailed Beast Ball from Shukaku, which had carried a massive amount of Yin and Yang chakra, must have been mostly absorbed by Samehada, causing it to be reborn.
In a certain sense, it was Yin–Yang Release that had created Samehada.
Then, if he used Yin–Yang Release while in this soul-like state, could he create a body for himself?
It was worth trying.
Talent was something that had only mattered to the Shimizu Uzuki of his previous life. For him now, as an existence made of energy, perhaps many of those restrictions no longer existed.
Sure enough, after a brief attempt, Shimizu, while still in his soul-form, spent only a few minutes before once again mastering the Water Release chakra nature transformation he had known so well in his previous life.
After that came one attempt after another.
In less than half an hour, he had mastered seven chakra nature transformations in total: Water, Earth, Lightning, Fire, Wind, Yin, and Yang.
This was cheating. It was absolutely cheating.
It meant that he could now create chakra of every nature.
At long last, he too had become a shinobi genius with all chakra natures.
After all, the bottleneck called talent had pierced his heart for an entire twenty years.
And yet this talent had come too late, when he had already crossed back into his original world.
Suppressing the inexplicable emotions surging in his chest, Shimizu began the final step: reconstructing his body. Relying on the astonishing chakra control he possessed in his soul-form, and using the body from his memories as a model, he recreated his original body bit by bit with perfect precision.
Finally, his new body took shape.
Shimizu Uzuki had been revived.
The first thing Shimizu did was carefully sense the state of this body. Its strength and speed were basically on par with his previous life.
The amount of chakra within him had also reached the level of someone who had just stepped into the Kage tier, which was about the same as before.
As for his chakra control, it had retreated from the effortless, almost instinctive state he had possessed as a soul and fallen back to its former level.
Was this because the strength of the soul determined the upper limit of one's power?
For now, Shimizu could only guess as much.
As for the most conventional kind of chakra nature talent, all seven chakra nature transformations he had temporarily trained just now had been retained.
So the soul could cultivate as well?
Shimizu felt as though he had opened the door to an entirely new world.
Only, from this point onward, the world of Naruto had nothing more to do with him.
After withdrawing from that profound state, Shimizu finally noticed that the massive amount of chakra he had absorbed along the way could no longer be contained once his manifested body took form. In an instant, that enormous mass of blue chakra, already dense enough to be visible to the naked eye, formed a chakra storm. A colossal blue tornado rose straight into the heavens, piercing the sky as wind and clouds surged around it.
For a time, even the sky and earth seemed to darken.
That majestic sight even reminded Shimizu of the green chakra Nagato had once unleashed, the one that had shot straight into the clouds.
Fortunately, he had taken form deep in these barren mountains. If this had happened in the middle of a city, Shimizu could hardly imagine what would follow.
As for the massive chakra storm, after raging for several minutes, it gradually began to weaken. Perhaps before long, it would vanish completely from this world.
He had a body now, but he still needed clothes to preserve his dignity, along with shoes and socks. So Shimizu once again used Yin–Yang Release to create those external items for himself.
A black trench coat, a dark green inner shirt, a pair of black trousers, and black-and-white sneakers. For an autumn day like this, it was an extremely simple outfit.
Yet no one would ever imagine that, in this world where miracles did not exist, he already stood at the top of the food chain.
This was basically a level-zero alternate account getting wiped in a Hell-difficulty dungeon, only to come back as a max-level berserker and slaughter the beginner village.
Truly… there was no gaming experience at all.
"Um, excuse me…"
A clear female voice suddenly came from below.
The abrupt voice also reminded Shimizu of something. His perception had always been built around living beings that possessed chakra, while ordinary people had always appeared as nothing at all within his sensory world.
And yet, in this world without supernatural power, who else besides him had chakra?
"How did you get up there?"
Shimizu looked around. The place he stood on was a strangely protruding, towering boulder. The surface area of the rock was rather large, but its sides were almost vertical.
In other words, the platform formed by this nearly twenty-meter-tall rock could not be reached at all without professional climbing gear.
And Shimizu's current outfit had nothing whatsoever to do with that of a professional rock climber. He looked like an ordinary person.
"I flew up."
Not far away, several people failed to hold back and burst out laughing.
There were four of them in total, two men and two women. They looked to be in their early twenties, and judging from their slightly youthful faces, they were probably students.
"Okay…"
The girl did not mind Shimizu's joke. She continued sincerely, "Then could you help me take some photos and a video?"
After a brief explanation from her, Shimizu quickly understood.
It turned out that this group had come together to climb Yue Mountain. The chakra storm that had suddenly erupted earlier had left them amazed, so they wanted to get closer to the scene and take clearer photos and videos.
Unfortunately, after arriving nearby, they discovered that their view of the chakra storm was mostly blocked by this enormous rock, while the other directions were all sheer cliffs. There was simply nowhere else to go.
And so Shimizu, standing on top of the boulder, had suddenly become their best option. "Throw your phone up here."
"Huh?"
Aren't you supposed to use a DSLR for this kind of photo?
"I've never used a DSLR." Shimizu pointed at the chakra storm in the distance, which was growing thinner and thinner. "It's almost gone."
"Okay!"
The girl made a quick decision. She stepped back twice, then after a short run-up, hurled the red phone in her hand toward Shimizu.
"Eh? Xiaoqing, your phone…" another girl cried out in surprise.
"Wait…" one of the boys tried to stop her.
After drawing a perfect arc through the air, the phone flew across several dozen meters and arrived in front of Shimizu in the blink of an eye.
But Ye Xiaoqing had thrown it too hard.
The phone's current height was far beyond what an ordinary person could reach.
This was bad.
However, Shimizu merely leaped lightly and, under everyone's astonished gazes, caught the phone steadily.
"Nice aim."
The phone had been deliberately locked before being thrown up, but Shimizu did not care about such small precautions. He tapped the camera icon and began filming.
"Wow, Xiaoqing, you've got guts," the girl beside her exclaimed. "That thing costs several thousand yuan, you know."
It had been a throw over a distance of several dozen meters.
But at that moment, Ye Xiaoqing was staring blankly.
"I… didn't I throw it too high?"
For a moment, she thought she had seen that young man leap several meters into the air in an instant.
