While resting Caelan was doing one of the most important thing, and that was analyzing the battles he fought. He noticed that there was some unfamiliar yet exciting feeling he felt during the fight with tree and the massacre. That feeling gave him a kind of thrill, it immersed him in the battles he fought with a lot more concentration when he used spar with his opponents, before this catastrophe struck.
But at the same time it was frightening. If he doesn't control that thrill then he will become a madman who only knows how kill or you can tell that he will make killing someone as his entertainment.
He also tried to understand how does the system works.

He bought some tools like sword, shield, some spare clothes, and one of the most important, a mask. Its important to cover his face, to hide his Identity in this chaotic times.
After buying these stuff he went to find his family. The path he choose was also in the direction they both ran ( Xu Zhi & Sara ).

After two days of searching he found about the whereabouts of both of them.
He noticed something peculiar in this 2 days of searching. He noticed that there were literarily no civilian found on the streets, or even in their own houses it was quite an eerie atmosphere. only soldiers were seen on the streets.
Many soldiers gave a peculiar look, as if they were asking 'How are you still alive' or 'why are you here'. many soldiers asked him to move to a shelter for time being, or until they resolve the situation out side.
After hearing his answers many were shocked, Instead of agreeing to go to the shelter he asked about some people , if they were safe or did they found a shelter. Its okay if he is worrying about his his family and friends, but they didn't expect him to reject their offer so nonchalantly as if he isn't tired searching for all this days or he doesn't need their help. They can't wrap there heads around the fact that how is he so bold after seeing all this happening, it's like he is confident in himself.
They would think he was some what foolish, but after seeing his body unscathed in this chaos they cannot help but believe it.
Some of them even asked him to join the military but he refused them, saying "I need to find my family first".
He got the news about Sara and Xu Zhi, according to the soldiers they escorted them safely to the shelters and they are safe. But he didn't got to meet them, as they were send another shelter.
So he send them a message by the soldiers about his well being and his mission to find his family.
After reassuring himself about the safety of Sara & Xu Zhi, He ventured out to find his family.

It took him Nearly a week to go to his Home town even after Increasing his agility stats by +5. Now he was left with 0 Ability points.
After seeing his home town in a ravaged state, he was completely terrified. It was in the most worst situation he had ever seen after the catastrophe struck. It was like some kind of massacre happened here , bodies of the civilians, animals, plants, Trees and even some soldiers was found lying on the ground coldly and many corpses had started decomposition. It was like everyone in this town was killed. It can be observed that who massacred them was a single person or a group of people who practiced same technique, all of them had same body composition, and same mentality.
The later is nearly impossible so most logical one is that it was one single person. but to do that in short amount of time (in a day or two) singlehandedly, he should be a very strong person.
At thought that someone massacred his family, he was enraged devastated that his family was dead. but Caelan was a person who believed in something with evidence, so after he calmed down he thought about searching them.
When he searched for his family's bodies, he didn't found them. This meant that it was still unknown that if they were alive or dead.
By this revelation, Caelan felt a wave of relief wash over him. This was not the worst case scenario. If he were to search, he could find them (alive). But it was still uncertain that they were not in danger.
Caelan tried to search for his friends and the people he was familiar with. In the middle of his search he heard some footsteps, he immediately hid under the ruble and acted as he was dead.
Thanks to his sense stat at 20 he heard their footsteps clearly and can differentiate between them from afar.
