Eyes lit up.
A smile immediately spread across her face as her fingers clasped tightly together above her heart, as if saying a prayer.
In the corner of the living room, she knelt on the thick carpet as soon as she spotted the beautifully decorated pine tree with its colorful balls, garlands, and assorted adornments.
"Is this all for me?" Her voice trembled as her little hands touched the beautifully wrapped boxes under the large Christmas tree.
When the two figures before her nodded simultaneously, excitement, happiness, and astonishment coursed through her, making her feel as though she was floating above the clouds.
Her fingers glided along the silky red bow, itching to rip it off, eager to uncover the surprise hidden inside.
"Not yet." A soft tone spoke, stopping her before she could tear the gift open. "You have to be patient."
A lovely face stared down at her with so much affection that she felt her heart swell with delirious delight.
