Chapter 24 - Alea’Vireth

Dr j'an

As our journey with Marrick comes to a close…

We arrive somewhere new.

Not a continuation.

Not an extension.

But something entirely different.

——

A new land.

A new continental.

---

Alea'Vireth.

---

The land of the Fay.

---

Dr j'an

Alea'Vireth is a land that hides what it is but at the same time.

It shows you everything—

And dares you to survive it.

---

Vast forests stretch endlessly across the continental, not quiet or passive, but loud with life. Trees grow to impossible heights, their roots breaking through stone, their branches thick enough to carry entire ecosystems upon them.

The skies are rarely empty.

Great winged beasts—true dragons, scaled and ancient—cut across the air like moving storms. Some breathe flame, others lightning, others things far stranger.

And below them—

The land moves.

---

Creatures roam freely here that would be considered legends elsewhere.

Massive horned beasts with hides harder than steel.

Predators that hunt in silence, their bodies shifting color to match their surroundings.

Things that should not exist—hybrids of fang, claw, and instinct—like the so-called "hippo-tigers," hulking creatures with crushing jaws and the speed of a hunting cat, known to tear apart entire caravans in moments.

---

This is not a world where such creatures are rare.

---

They are normal.

---

Dr j'an

Alea'Vireth is divided into three great regions.

Not by politics—

But by survival.

---

The first is the Fay Wilds.

---

This is the true heart of the continental.

Untamed.

Unforgiving.

---

Here, the forests are not just filled with life—

They compete with it.

---

Dragons nest in the high canopies or atop jagged mountain ridges that pierce through the green like blades. Entire territories are shaped around their presence, warped by their power.

Lesser drakes hunt below them.

Pack-beasts roam in coordinated groups, some large enough to challenge even the smaller dragons.

---

And then there are the anomalies.

Creatures that do not follow patterns.

Beasts that seem to possess singular, overwhelming abilities.

---

One may control gravity within a small radius.

Another may absorb impact and release it all at once.

Another may exist partially outside of perception—visible one moment, gone the next.

---

These creatures do not simply kill.

They dominate.

---

To enter the deeper Wilds without preparation is not bravery.

---

It is suicide.

---

Dr j'an

The second region is the Deep Shallows.

---

A misleading name for something far grander.

---

It is the vast coastal ring that encircles Alea'Vireth entirely.

Cliffs of ivory stone rise from the sea, layered with veins of deep, radiant gold that catch the light like something sacred.

Harbors stretch wide, filled with massive ships built not just for travel—but for survival.

---

Because the waters beyond are not safe.

---

They belong to the Blue Deep.

---

The Blue Deep is not simply an ocean.

---

It is alive.

---

A shifting, watching mass of water that surrounds the continental like a living wall.

Its surface can remain calm for days—

Perfectly still—

Only to swallow entire fleets without warning.

---

Those who sail without permission…

Without guidance…

Without something that marks them as allowed—

---

Will never make it far.

---

There are no remains.

No wreckage.

---

Only blue.

---

And silence.

---

Dr j'an

The final region—

And the most infamous—

Is the Heavenly Vile City of Oportunidad.

---

This is where Alea'Vireth shows its true nature.

---

A city of impossible scale and wealth, built from ivory stone and gold-veined structures that rise in layered towers, bridges, and suspended platforms.

Beasts are not excluded here—

They are integrated.

---

Massive creatures serve as living transports.

Winged predators perch atop noble estates.

Even lesser dragons have been bound, bargained with, or subdued to serve roles within the city's structure.

---

Everything lives together.

---

Everything competes.

---

In Oportunidad—

You can become anything.

---

A king.

A legend.

A corpse.

---

All in a single day.

---

Because here—

Power moves faster than reason.

---

Fortunes are made in moments.

Lost just as quickly.

---

Deals are struck between humans, Fay, beasts, and things that blur the line between all three.

---

And through it all—

One truth remains.

---

No one truly wins.

---

Except the House.

---

House Lay Fay.

---

The World Nobles.

---

The bloodline of Fortuna.

---

Dr j'an

Fortuna—

The god of fate.

The god of fortune.

The god of all that is golden and all that is yellow.

---

The King of the Five.

---

His influence is not subtle.

It is everywhere.

---

It is in the way events unfold.

In the way chance bends.

In the way outcomes seem to favor some—

And ruin others.

---

His bloodline does not rule through armies.

They do not need to.

---

Because the world itself moves in ways that favor them.

---

Dr j'an

There is something else that defines Alea'Vireth.

Something that has shaped its people more than anything else.

---

Gold.

---

Gold from this land is not normal.

---

It carries something within it.

---

Those who possess it—

Become luckier.

---

Not in ways that can be easily seen.

But in ways that cannot be ignored.

---

A strike lands where it should not.

A deal goes through when it should fail.

A beast hesitates at the wrong moment.

---

And that moment—

Is enough.

---

This has changed everything.

---

Gold is not just currency.

It is advantage.

It is survival.

It is power.

---

People hoard it.

Spend it.

Risk everything for it.

---

And because of that—

Alea'Vireth has become the richest continental.

---

Its gold flows outward.

Its influence spreads.

---

And yet—

Very few who come here ever leave the same.

---

Dr j'an

Now—

The people.

---

The Fay are not fragile beings of myth.

They are not delicate spirits tied to nature.

---

They are something far more dangerous.

---

They are adaptable.

---

Some bear wings.

Some horns.

Some traits that resemble beasts more than anything else.

---

Many form bonds with creatures of the Wilds.

Not ownership—

But mutual understanding.

---

A warrior may fight alongside a drake.

A noble may raise a scaled beast as both companion and weapon.

A hunter may track prey with something far more dangerous at their side.

---

Strength here is not limited to the individual.

---

It is expanded through what you can command, bond with, or survive.

---

Their cities are alive.

Loud.

Overflowing with motion.

---

Markets filled with exotic beasts, rare materials, and living weapons.

Arenas where creatures and warriors clash in displays of power.

Streets where music, laughter, and violence exist side by side.

---

They love deeply.

Fight fiercely.

Betray without hesitation.

---

Not because they lack morals—

But because they understand something others do not.

---

Nothing is permanent.

---

So everything must be lived fully.

---

Dr j'an

And that—

Is Alea'Vireth.

---

A land where dragons are not legends.

Where beasts define survival.

Where gold shapes fate.

---

And where—

If you are strong enough—

You may rise higher than you ever imagined.

---

Or be consumed—

Before you understand what you stepped into.

---

Now.

Let us begin.
