Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Doctor's Wrath

For several minutes, Hector sat beside the bed. His blue eyes fixed on the girl, who let out occasional whimpers. He could tell from Estelle's pale face that the pain was getting worse.

It sounded foolish, but Hector could do nothing except watch and wait. The man also made sure that the girl's body temperature remained stable. His thoughts had cooled down compared to a few minutes ago.

Now, instead of feeling a surge of jealousy, the man was worried about Estelle. Although it seemed that the bleeding down there had subsided, Hector feared that his decision to wait might not be the right one.

Glancing at the antique clock on the wall, his leg moved restlessly. Neither Sandro nor Sandra, the twin siblings, had arrived, and the girl continued to whimper and cry in pain.

"Damn it," he muttered slowly.

In truth, the skills of endurance and combat that he mastered were of no help in a critical situation like this. Hector had never been responsible for protecting anyone before. But now his life was in disarray due to the appearance of a girl with blonde hair.

Indeed, their first meeting was not memorable, but as time passed, Hector realized he couldn't do anything to harm Estelle. He had never seen Estelle as someone who should be killed. Keeping Estelle by his side was a decision that would be useful in the future.

Hector believed that all of his decisions were based on logic, not influenced by his feelings in the slightest. However, without realizing it, his desire to possess the girl had grown stronger and stronger.

He saw Estelle's soul in his former self.

Pitiful and weak.

Hector's mind told him that possessing the girl was an act of mercy. He did not expect that everything he did was not merely "wanting to possess" but had already gone beyond the bounds of obsession.

The quiet hotel room made him sink deeper into his thoughts. Until the door opened, revealing Sandra, who came in a hurry. Her caramel-colored hair was messy, with traces of snow on her shoulders and the tips of her hair.

In a rush, she walked toward Hector and handed over the medicines she had bought. Without a word, the man opened them silently. He lifted Estelle's head, and Hector fed the liquid into the girl's mouth. Fortunately, the liquid was swallowed perfectly.

"Sit," Hector ordered as he closed the medicine.

Sandra obeyed. The woman sat quietly in front of her master, trying to guess what the man would say next. Her fingers could not stay still at all, a sign that Sandra was very nervous… or even afraid.

The problem was, one small mistake would put both her life and Estelle's life at stake.

"Did you ever take your eyes off her while outside the mansion?"

Sandra shook her head in response. "I never once looked away from Miss."

Blue eyes investigated, searching for any lie in Sandra's movements. But Hector found none.

"Which men met her?"

"Only a few police officers and… her friend," Sandra answered.

For some reason, Hector let out a breath and returned his attention to Estelle. Seeing her master so troubled made Sandra uneasy. The problem was, Hector, when driven mad, could become extremely dangerous if he grew frustrated.

Sandra had seen it before, and until now she always prayed not to encounter a situation where Hector was rampaging.

"Was it because of that time?" Hector muttered.

The man reminisced about the time he almost made love with Estelle. But at that time, even when he entered, it was not even a quarter of his length. There was not a single drop of his seed released.

No. It would be better for him to wait for Sandro for a clear explanation.

The man's gaze returned to the girl. After drinking the medicine, her face looked better. The color on her cheeks was gradually returning. Lowering his gaze, his blue eyes looked at the blanket covering Estelle's lower body.

Rising to his feet, Hector reached out to pull back the blanket, and he found that the blood that had previously spread had now stopped. The man sighed with relief.

Sandro arrived just as Hector was pulling the blanket back into place. In his hand was a large box of equipment to assist the patient.

"Master!" Sandro called as he stepped inside. "How is her condition?"

After placing the box on the table, the doctor hurriedly put on a stethoscope and checked Estelle's heartbeat. He also checked her blood pressure.

"I think it's better than a few minutes ago," Hector commented.

Removing the stethoscope, Sandro pulled back the blanket and found red fluid seeping around Estelle's thighs. The man then gently pressed the patient's abdomen. A soft groan was heard.

Estelle's condition looked fairly stable. There was nothing unusual about her heartbeat. It also felt normal when the uterus was palpated from the outside. Only the abnormal volume of blood confused Sandro.

"Has the medicine been given?"

"Yes," Hector answered immediately.

Seeing Sandro's face that still looked calm, Hector concluded that what happened to Estelle might not be a serious problem.

"Sandra, were you the one who helped clean Miss Estelle?" Sandro asked as he turned to his twin.

"Yes."

"Were there any blood clots or tissue that came out?"

Sandra frowned before shaking her head. "No. I think there were only blood clots, and their size was still considered normal."

Sandra's response eliminated the previous diagnosis.

"Was she really having a miscarriage?" Hector interjected.

Immediately, Sandro turned to Hector. After considering for a moment, the man came to a conclusion.

"Her heartbeat is stable. Her blood pressure tends to be low but is still within normal limits. There is no remaining tissue, and the pain subsides after medication."

Sandro lifted his gaze.

"I think it's not a miscarriage."

The master widened his eyes, but afterward he gave a faint smile. For some reason, his heart truly felt relieved. Truly, imagining the girl being pregnant with another man's child had driven him insane.

"When was the last time Miss Estelle had her menstruation?"

Hector came back to his senses when he heard that question. "She hasn't even been at the mansion for a month. How would I know?"

"In that case, was there any other medicine you gave her?" Sandro probed.

At first Hector was reluctant to answer, but the man had no other choice.

"I gave her the poison you just developed and also a fertility drug."

Hearing Hector's confession, the doctor immediately slapped his forehead. Ah, it seemed he was beginning to understand where the root of the problem lay. And it gave him a headache.

Even though Hector and Mattheo knew very well that the poison he created was still not perfect and was still under trial. How could they give it to Estelle?

"I made that poison not to be tested on our side," Sandro said.

"If I didn't do it, she would run away," Hector argued.

Sandro frowned, unable to comprehend Hector's way of thinking. How could the man think that poisoning a girl would result in loyalty? Sometimes, his master had a mindset that was very unhealthy for the people around him.

"What about the fertility drug? The dosage?"

"Five times a month."

It would have been safe as long as it was not given every day. But from Estelle's bodily reaction, Sandro suspected there had been a mistake in administering the medicine. Taking out his phone, he immediately contacted Mattheo.

For a while, Sandro stepped away while talking to Mattheo. Hector did not think anything negative. The man immediately returned to Estelle's side and looked at her with relief.

Not a miscarriage.

His girl had not betrayed him.

All the burdens on Hector's shoulders were immediately lifted. The rising emotions dropped to the deepest abyss. His lips curved into a satisfied smile.

However, after Sandro returned and approached, one sentence he said managed to turn the situation tense.

"The servant who gave the fertility drug made a mistake in the dosage," Sandro explained. "They gave the medicine five times a week."

The smile on Hector's face immediately disappeared. Gloom fell over him, and his face was instantly filled with anger.

"What?"

"If given excessively, it will cause hormonal imbalance and forced uterus contractions. It is worsened by poison and mental stress," Sandro removed his glasses. "What did you expect when you gave both drug and poison at the same time, Master?"

The doctor, who usually commented with a mocking tone, now stared sharply. His gaze and words were cold. Even Hector could not utter a single word, only able to clench his jaw and curse himself.

"Today, her uterus was forced to work beyond its capacity. This bleeding is the result," Sandro said. "If this happens again, it will not be a matter of whether she can get pregnant or not, but whether her body can survive a pregnancy."

Sharp. Right on target. Hearing Sandro's words, Hector froze. His body felt as if it had been doused with ice. Cold sweat flowed along his temples. Even though the room was equipped with a heater, the air felt so cold after Sandro revealed all those facts.

He had almost damaged Estelle's body.

He had almost made the girl unable to conceive forever.

"From now on, never give anything to Miss Estelle without consulting me," Sandro said in a curt tone. "There will be no sexual intercourse or plans for pregnancy for the next few months."

The doctor's sharp gaze seemed to pierce Hector.

"I will make sure Miss Estelle recovers before someone selfishly ruins my patient again."

Hector fell silent. His chest felt as if it had been struck. Even his gunshot wounds felt better than hearing the worst possibility that could happen to Estelle.

Sandra, who heard it, could only feel amazed that her brother could silence Hector.

"Please have Master book another room so Miss Estelle's rest will not be disturbed," Sandro ordered while pointing toward the door, forcefully driving him out.

Hector only clenched his jaw and walked out of the room with heavy steps. His hands were tightly clenched until his knuckles turned white. He was not angry at Sandro.

He was angry at himself.

Seeing all of that, Sandra immediately looked in amazement.

"You have a lot of courage."

Sandro snorted in annoyance. "Unless I put mental pressure on him, he'll never stop."
