Demetrio's POV
"I see you've already gotten her to move in with you."
Dominic said it the moment he walked through my office door, before he had fully crossed the threshold, in the specific tone he used when he had an observation he had been carrying since the elevator and could not wait any longer to deliver.
"I hope you were civil to her," I said, without looking up from the quarterly report on my laptop that I had been reading the same paragraph of for the last twenty minutes.
He dropped into the chair across from my desk with the ease of a man who had been sitting in that chair for fifteen years and considered it partially his. "I didn't send her running to you in tears, did I?"
I looked up at that. The look I gave him communicated that the bar he had just described was not the bar I was setting.
He met it with a smirk.
