"Whoa, whoa, whoa… watch it, young lady," Faye said, her shoes grinding into the wooden floor as she took a single step forward. She kept her chin high, her hands hanging loose at her sides, but her eyes locked onto Jessie with a cold, sharp glare. "Ignoring the fact that we had a brief past and you are my friend's big sister, don't fucking call my girl a bitch. She is the mother of my children and our future children. Watch your fucking tongue if you don't want to see my wrath," Faye warned.
She didn't care that Jessie had threatened her life. What made her blood boil, what made her chest heave with heavy, furious breaths, was the simple fact that Jessie had called her girlfriend names.
Jessie chuckled, a dry and empty sound that rattled in her throat.
