"Since when did you become a member?"
The moment Malo uttered those words, the gym became suddenly quiet. The echoes of his voice bounced off the high ceiling, leaving a thick, uncomfortable silence in the room.
I would have said something but Haley had it coming because she kinda hurt our feelings… She had that snobby look on her face just a second ago, so I didn't feel bad watching her eyes widen in absolute shock.
I carried myself up from the bench, walked to the activity mirror staring at myself in the mirror, watching my baby bump while Malo and Haley went on. The bright glass reflected my heavy figure, my hands resting lightly over the fabric of my loose gown. My fingers traced the round curve of my stomach as their voices continued to clash behind me.
Sasha just sat down, she was going to say something but they didn't allow her to talk. She opened her mouth, her hand half raised, but Haley just kept going right over her words. So we just listened.
