The pause has been great, but I could still see the signs of Princess breaking. She was trying so hard to hide the fact that she was actually fine with Yuki now living in the house, but the cracks were there if you looked close enough.
Princess drove me to a barbecue restaurant close to the mall. The smell of grilled meat and charcoal hit us the second we stepped out of the Porsche. When I was about to sit down, she moved quickly and gently pulled out the chair for me. It was a smooth move, totally deliberate. We had to cook the meat and other food on our table, which was cool because it gave us something to do with our hands. When I tried cutting my meat into smaller pieces, Princess reached over and did it for me. She was smiling the whole time, but it was that bright, focused smile she gets when she's on a mission. She didn't say much during the meal. She just kept laughing at almost everything I said, even the stuff that wasn't that funny.
