Chapter 109 - The Broken Masquerade :

The moments Fangxi spoke those serious words Zavian fell into deep shoke. A strom of questions began raging inside his mind

During the chaos inside the mall, he had used the mysterious power hidden within him.

and now, it seemed Fangxi had noticed far more than he should have.

More importantly..He wanted answers. The realization made an unfamiliar hesitation rise within Zavian's heart.

A strange fear slowly crept into his mind If Fangxi discovered the truth about him. Would he still allow him to remain by Sheyaan's side as her bodyguard?

Or would everything come to an end? Suppressing the emotions surging inside him, Zavian quickly regained control of himself.

His expression returned to its usual cold and unreadable state. With those deep, emotionless eyes, he simply stared at Fangxi in silence.

However, Fangxi's words did not affect Zavian alone. Sheyaan, Alisha, and Younshu were equally stunned. The color slowly drained from their faces.

Because they knew a terrifying truth that the rest of the world knew nothing about They knew that Zavian was not an ordinary human.

He was a being whose very existence could strike fear into countless hearts. The Demon King.

A ruler possessing power far beyond human understanding.Yet Fangxi remained completely unaware of that shocking reality.

A heavy silence suddenly descended around the parked car It felt as though time itself had frozen As though even the wind had stopped moving.

Sensing the unusual tension, Fangxi slowly swept his gaze across everyone's faces.

His sharp eyes carefully observed every reaction Then he slightly raised his eyebrows and spoke in a firm, commanding tone,

"Why did all of you..suddenly go silent?"

His voice carried unmistakable authority.

"Did I say.. something wrong?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, Fangxi's deep and unreadable gaze settled directly on Zavian.

There was suspicion in his eyes now And a demand for answers. Then, in a cold yet meaningful voice, he continued,

"Or..."do I simply have no right to.. know the truth?"

Hearing Fangxi's heavy and serious words, everyone standing there exchanged grave looks with one another

An unsettling sense of tension had quietly spread through the atmosphere.

Yet, despite the countless thoughts running through their minds, no one had the courage to speak a single word.

In the open parking area beside the mall, the only sound that could be heard was the faint rhythm of their breathing.

The cool night wind drifted across their faces from time to time, making the already tense silence feel even heavier.

Seeing everyone standing there in complete silence, Fangxi finally spoke again.

This time, he shifted his gaze and fixed it directly on Alisha and Younshu.

His expression was stern, and his voice carried a clear note of authority.

"Don't you two.. have homes to.. go to?"

he asked coldly. Then, without waiting for an answer, he continued,

"Or are you planning to.. spend the night sleeping on the..side of the road?"

The moment Fangxi spoke in such a sudden and strict tone, Alisha felt a jolt run through her body.

A trace of panic flashed across her face Her lips trembled slightly as she struggled to respond.

"Ye...yes... of course..."

"We..We should get going..."

As soon as she finished speaking, she wasted no time.

She immediately grabbed Younshu's arm and shook it lightly before saying in a hurried voice,

"Younshu... I..I'm going to bring..the car!"

The nervousness hidden in her voice was impossible to miss For once, Younshu didn't ask any questions.

He simply nodded without hesitation The next second, Alisha hurried toward the parking area.

The sound of her footsteps echoed softly through the quiet night Within moments, she reached the car.

She quickly unlocked the door, slid into the driver's seat, and started the engine without wasting a second.

Vroom—!

The sound of the engine broke the tense silence.

Gripping the steering wheel firmly, Alisha carefully reversed the car out of its parking spot.

Then, with a swift turn of the wheel, she guided it onto the road and brought it to a stop in front of the group.

At the moment, Alisha tightened her grip on the steering wheel and called out from the inside the car in a hurried yet gentle voice.

"Younshu, Zayan...! Come on, get in.. the car!"

The moment he heard her voice, Younshu snapped back to reality Without wasting a second, he quickly replied,

"Yeah... I'm coming!"

He immediately started walking toward Alisha's car at a brisk pace. At the same time, Fangxi moved without saying another word.

He didn't ask any more questions.Nor did he try to stop anyone. He simply walked toward his black car.

After getting into the driver's seat, he started the engine, backed the vehicle out of its parking spot, and slowly pulled toward the road.

However, amid all the rush and movement.Sheyaan and Zavian remained exactly where they were.

Neither of them moved even an inch. They simply stood there, silently looking at each other.

Their eyes were calm Their hearts were not. An indescribable restlessness lingered between them.

It felt as though they could sense the storms hidden within each other's hearts without speaking a single word.

The cool night breeze drifted around them..Yet, at that moment, every sound in the world seemed to fade away.

Only their silent gazes remained. Then suddenly—

Screech!

Fangxi's black car stopped right beside Sheyaan. He lowered the window and called out in a firm voice,

"Sheyaan! Get in the car. We're.. going home."

His sudden voice shattered the long silence between them. In an instant, Sheyaan and Zavian broke eye contact.

Almost as if they had been caught doing something they couldn't explain. Quickly regaining her senses, Sheyaan nodded lightly.

She hurriedly opened the car door and climbed inside, adjusting the purse hanging around her neck with one hand.

And at that exact moment..A loud voice echoed once again from Alisha's car.

"Zayan! Hurry up and.. get in the car!"

The moment Alisha's voice echoed through the night, Zavian seemed to snap back to reality.

Without saying a word, he stepped forward, opened the car door, and quietly took the seat beside Alisha.

As the door closed behind him, the heavy silence returned once again. A few moments later—

VROOOM!

The engines of both cars roared to life simultaneously. The sound cut through the quiet night air.

In the next moment, Fangxi's black car slowly moved onto the road to the right, while Alisha's car turned toward the left.

The two vehicles began traveling down different roads..Yet somehow, the invisible tension and connection between them remained unbroken.

Sitting silently inside the car, Zavian remained motionless for a while. Then, slowly, he shifted his gaze toward the side mirror.

Within that small reflection, he could clearly see Fangxi's car moving farther and farther away. And inside that car...Sat Sheyaan.

Zavian's deep, silent eyes settled on her reflection. Without blinking, he continued watching her through the mirror.

As if a thousand unspoken words were hidden behind that single glance.

As if there were feelings in his heart that could never be expressed through words alone.

Then suddenly..It was as though Sheyaan sensed something.

Her eyes slowly drifted away from the road ahead and landed on her own side mirror.

And in the very next second Her breath caught slightly.

Reflected in the mirror, through the window of the distant car, she could clearly see Zavian's silent face and those calm, unwavering eyes looking back at her.

For a brief moment, time itself seemed to stop.

As they continued staring at each other through the side mirrors, an unexpected wave of emotions stirred inside Sheyaan's heart.

Her heartbeat suddenly quickened, pounding harder and faster than before.

At that moment, Zavian slowly raised his cold, slender finger and traced something across the fogged surface of the mirror.

Under the glow of the city lights, a short message appeared.

"See you later."

The words were crystal clear.

The moment Sheyaan read them, her breath caught for a second. A faint smile appeared on her lips as she gently nodded her head.

It was a silent agreement—one that only the two of them could understand.

The next second, Fangxi's black car accelerated forward and sped down the road.

At the same time, Alisha pressed the accelerator, and her car moved off in a different direction.

Gradually, the chaos surrounding the mall faded away. The remaining customers finally left for their homes,

carrying a sense of relief after surviving such a terrifying ordeal.

Meanwhile...

Inside a luxurious apartment in the city, Kalene was pacing back and forth restlessly.

Standing near the sofa, he rubbed his chin while repeatedly glancing toward the door. Worry and irritation were clearly visible on his face.

"Why haven't Younshu and..Alisha returned yet...?"

he muttered through gritted teeth.

"They've been gone since..morning, and they didn't even tell me.. where they were going. Just wait until they..get back..."

Despite his angry words, the concern hidden beneath them was impossible to miss.

Just then, a car slowly pulled into the apartment's parking area.

As soon as it stopped, the doors opened and Younshu and Zavian stepped out. Meanwhile, Alisha stayed behind to park the vehicle properly.

The moment he got out, Younshu glanced at Zavian.

Zavian's face remained as cold and unreadable as ever. Beneath that calm expression, however, there seemed to be a storm raging within him.

Younshu looked at him and was just about to say something..When suddenly—

Without saying a single word, Zavian suddenly stepped forward.

In the blink of an eye, his figure vanished from the dim parking hall like a shadow disappearing into the darkness.

Younshu froze on the spot.

His eyes widened in shock as he stared at the empty space where Zavian had been standing only moments ago.

Before he could fully process what had happened, Alisha walked over after locking the car and asked,

"Why are you.. standing here like that...? Come on, let's go.. upstairs."

Her voice snapped him out of his daze. However, the worry on his face remained.

Looking at her with unusual seriousness, Younshu said in a low voice,

"There's something I'm.. really afraid of, Alisha."

Alisha frowned slightly.

"What are you..afraid of?"

Younshu let out a long sigh After making sure nobody was around to hear them, he lowered his voice even further.

"I'm afraid that..Zayan's entire plan might.. fall apart."

Alisha's expression instantly became serious.

"The reason he became.. Sheyaan's bodyguard in the.. first place..."

He paused briefly before adding,

"And if boss learns the..whole truth tomorrow... he might refuse to let Zayan..continue as Sheyaan's.. bodyguard."

The moment those words left his mouth, Alisha fell silent. The smile on her face disappeared completely, replaced by deep concern.

For several moments, neither of them spoke. The cold night breeze swept through the parking area,

but it did nothing to ease the tension in their hearts. Finally, Alisha broke the silence.

"To be honest... I'm afraid of the..same thing."

She looked toward the dark road where Zavian had disappeared.

"And if Fangxi really.. decides to separate Zayan..from Sheyaan..."

Her voice trailed off. Because even she didn't want to imagine what might happen next. Younshu lowered his head silently.

At the moment, only one question lingered in boths their minds, if Zavian was truly forced away from Sheyaan.

Would be quietly accept it? Or, would something happen that changed everything.
