Zavian's gaze remained on the old paper it was identical to the one Kalene had given him before.
Questions stormed thought his mind one after another but suddenly Sheyaan's painful scream cut through everything.
"Aaaah!"
And in that instant Zavian was pulled back to reality.
Without hesitation, Zavian changed his focus, let go of her burned hand, and quickly moved toward the cabinet.
Sheyaan, still overwhelmed with pain, stared at him in confusion.
Zavian picked up the paper from the top of the cabinet. Before he could open and read it, Sheyaan, struggling through her pain, asked,
"wha...what happened? What are you.. looking at?"
The moment he heard her voice, Zavian's hands paused. Without wasting a second.
he slipped the paper into his pocket and said in a flat tone,
"Nothing. Where's the.. first-aid box?"
Tears still lingered in Sheyaan's eyes from the pain. She answered softly,
"It's… it's in the drawer."
Zavian shot her a cold, sharp look and asked,
"Which drawer?"
Taken aback by his sudden change in tone, Sheyaan hesitated for a moment before pointing nervously,
"In the hall… the drawer in the hall."
Zavian's demeanor had turned completely rigid, almost robotic. Without saying another word, he gently grabbed her injured hand again and led her out of the kitchen toward the hall.
Sheyaan's eyes lingered on the unfinished noodles she had made with so much excitement,
but the fear in Zavian's presence and the firmness of his grip left her with no courage to say anything.
Silently, she followed him into the hall.
Zavian walked into the hall and, in a calm, straightforward manner, gestured toward the sofa as he said,
"Sit here… I'll be back in a..moment."
Without arguing, Sheyaan quietly obeyed and sat down on the sofa.
Her full attention was on her burning hand, but her eyes continued to follow Zavian.
He opened a nearby drawer, took out the first-aid box, and walked back toward her.
He sat down on the large table placed right in front of her. Looking straight into her eyes, he said in a cold yet commanding tone,
"Show me your hand."
Already intimidated by his stern demeanor, Sheyaan just looked at him.
Her lips moved, but no words came out. Seeing her silence, Zavian didn't wait and reached forward himself, gently taking her injured hand.
The moment she felt his touch, Sheyaan panicked. She tried to pull her hand back and stammered,
"no...no… I'll do it myself!"
Zavian didn't react. He simply looked at her with those deep, cold eyes—there was a strange stillness in his gaze that stopped her from saying anything further.
Without responding, he held her hand again, this time with a firmer yet gentle grip.
Being watched so closely by Zavian made Sheyaan's heartbeat race. She felt a little nervous and sat there quietly, almost holding her breath.
Zavian took out some ointment from the first-aid box and gently began applying it to her burned hand.
Sheyaan's eyes were fixed on his face. She kept looking at him, as if trying to read the emotions hidden behind his stern expression.
Zavian noticed her staring and, almost intentionally, pressed a little harder near the burned area while applying the ointment.
"Aaahh!" A painful cry escaped Sheyaan's lips.
Zavian immediately lifted his gaze and looked straight into her eyes, saying in a cold voice,
"Stop.. staring at me."
Caught off guard by his sudden harshness, Sheyaan froze. Embarrassed and nervous, she quickly looked away.
For a few moments, silence filled the room as Zavian continued applying the he carefully applied the ointment until he was done.
Only then did he speak-his tone flat and unreadable.
"Why do you..rush everything?"
Sheyaan lowered hear head unable to meet his gaze her voice an accident..
"I...was really hungry.!"
A slight heaviness crept into Zavian's voice as he responded.
"Be careful next time...understood?"
Sheyaan nodded innocently and said in a low voice,
"Hmm."
But just then, she suddenly placed a hand on her stomach and made a small, awkward face… her hunger had made its presence known once again.
Seeing Sheyaan hold her stomach and noticing her expression, Zavian immediately understood what was going on.
He looked at her deeply and asked in a serious tone,
"What now?!"
Sheyaan looked up at him innocently and said softly,
"I'm hungry… really hungry!"
Zavian didn't say anything. He quietly stood up from the table and walked straight to the kitchen.
Sheyaan watched him go, surprised. In the kitchen, Zavian took the noodles that were already prepared,
placed them in a bowl, and poured a glass of cold water.
He returned to the hall and set the bowl and the glass in front of Sheyaan on the table, saying,
"Here, your noodles… eat them so your hunger goes away."
After saying that, he didn't leave. Instead, he sat down beside her.
Seeing this change in his behavior and his quiet concern, a soft smile appeared on Sheyaan's face.
Happily, she picked up the bowl and started eating the noodles, blowing on them lightly and enjoying every bite.
Zavian looked at Sheyaan with unusually soft eyes for a moment, then turned away and went back to his phone.
The only sound filling the hall was the quiet clinking of Sheyaan eating her noodles.
After a while, she broke the silence, making a small face as she said softly,
"Ahh… the noodles are really spicy, but...I'll still eat them."
Saying that, she continued eating. Hearing her, Zavian glanced at her again—his gaze deep, as if her innocence was quietly
touching something within him. Sheyaan noticed him looking and gently asked,
"Can I...ask you something?"
Without shifting his gaze, Zavian replied in a flat tone,
"Hmm."
Hesitating slightly, Sheyaan asked,
"So… if a girl looks at you, does it... not affect you at all?"
Hearing this, Zavian placed his phone aside and stared at her sharply. His tone turned firm and low,
"What are you.. talking about?!"
Taking another bite of her noodles, Sheyaan said fearlessly,
"Hmm… a little while ago, two girls.. were daydreaming about you! But I think...they didn't know who you..really are."
Zavian's eyes widened slightly in surprise as he asked,
"What do you... mean by that?!"
Looking at him innocently, Sheyaan replied in a serious tone,
"I mean… you're a 'demon,' right? How could you... possibly fall in love?"
A strange smile appeared on Zavian's face. He looked at her sideways and repeated softly,
"A demon? Demons can fall in love… and...stop talking nonsense, understood?! Focus on your...food."
With a faint smile, Sheyaan tilted her head and muttered,
"You're really.. such a stubborn demon… you always..shut people up with your reverse.. answers! Did your mom and dad.. teach you to reply like that all.. the time?!"
The moment he heard that, irritation clearly appeared on Zavian's face. In a firm tone, he said,
"Stop calling me a demon! If someone hears it, it could create a scene."
Sheyaan's eyes immediately lit up with mischief as she said,
"Ooh… so you do get scared?!"
Annoyed, Zavian replied,
"I'm not afraid.. of anyone, got it?!"
The very next moment, he stepped closer to her with a slight attitude and snatched the bowl from her hands, saying,
"Give it here! You won't stay.. quiet like this."
Then, without wasting a second, he started feeding her noodles forcefully, spoon after spoon.
"Here, eat this!"
He was feeding her quickly, as if trying to shut her up completely.
Sheyaan's eyes widened in shock. Her mouth was already full of noodles, and she could barely speak,
"Umm… umm… wait! What are you doing?!"
But Zavian had no intention of stopping—there was a victorious smile on his face.
Zavian didn't relax until he had fed Sheyaan every last bite of the noodles.
Her mouth was full, and she kept trying to say, "Ummm!" but he didn't give her a chance to speak.
Once she finished eating, Zavian handed her a glass of water and said in a commanding tone,
"Drink this and.. go study! Don't just...sit around, understood?!"
The noodles were too spicy for her. Without complaining, Sheyaan quickly took the glass from his hand and gulped down all the water in one go. Her face had turned red.
"Aaaahh! It's so spicy!" she complained, almost on the verge of tears.
"One day, I'll make you...eat something even spicier than this—and I... won't give you any water, just wait..and see!"
As she spoke, her eyes actually started watering because of the spice.
She looked like a small child about to cry. Zavian, who had been so stern until now,
couldn't hold back his laughter after seeing her like this. A faint smile appeared on his lips.
Upset and still in discomfort, Sheyaan stood up to leave, but Zavian didn't let her go.
In an instant, he got up from the sofa, grabbed her hand, without warning he pulled her toward him.
Caught off guard Sheyaan stumbled slightly and ended up standing just inches away from him.
Zavian gently guided her down onto the edge of the sofe positioning himself right in front of her.
Then without hesitation he closed the hands slid softly through her hair while the other held her firmly againest him.
as if he was trying to shield her from everything and silently comfort her.
Sheyaan froze in shock—how could this stubborn demon suddenly become so gentle?
Zavian held Sheyaan in his arms, but her soft sobs refused to stop. Gently running his hand through her hair, he said softly,
"Calm down…"
But Sheyaan only cried more and rested her head against his strong shoulder.
Zavian slowly pulled back and cupped her face in his hands. Looking into her eyes, he said,
"Look at me, Sheyaan."
Her eyes were still closed, tears continuously streaming down her cheeks.
Zavian gently wiped them away with his fingers and called her again,
"Sheyaan."
Hearing him, she slowly opened her misty, tear-filled eyes. Zavian reached into his pocket, took out a chocolate, and held it out to her,
"Here… eat this, it'll help with the spice."
Sheyaan looked at him in surprise, her eyes still red and wet. Zavian gently held the back of her neck and placed a soft kiss on her forehead.
Sheyaan froze completely, as if her breath had stopped.
But neither of them realized that outside the door, Younshu was standing there, watching everything.
A mischievous smile spread across his face as he muttered in surprise,
"Are these two.. in love with each other?!"
The very next moment, Younshu took out his phone and captured the beautiful moment in a photo. Smiling to himself, he said,
"Now the real fun begins."
