For the first time a powerful demon was powerless the girl he had sworn to protect was fading away before his very eyes.
His heart twisted in unbearable pain as if something inside him was breaking apart.
agony consumed every part of his begin he roared in a terrifying demon like voice.
"Sss... aahhh!! Why aren't my powers..working today?!"
He glanced at Sheyaan—and the sight was enough to shake anyone.
She was struggling to breathe; her eyes were tightly shut in pain, and she kept opening her mouth, desperately trying to gulp in air.
The sweat pouring from her body mixed with the cold rain, rising like steam—like a mysterious fire burning within her, slowly turning her to ashes.
Without wasting another second, Zavian made a decision. He lifted her head and placed it gently in his lap.
His cold hands brushed against her burning face. His voice remained flat, but the tremor within it revealed his fear:
"I won't let you... leave me so easily... my.. silent heartbeat."
Even as he spoke, Zavian himself was drowning in pain. Sheyaan's entire body trembled violently;
the fire within her was dragging her closer to death. The pain was so intense that she clutched his hand tightly—as if he were her last hope.
Seeing her in such a state, Zavian made up his mind—he could not afford to wait any longer.
Without hesitation, he chose to take a step. one that was forbidden even in the demon world.
Zavian took a deep breath, as if preparing himself for a grave decision.
Gently, he placed one hand beneath Sheyaan's head and supported her delicate neck with the other.
Slowly, he pulled her closer—so close that their breaths began to collide.
For a moment, his gaze lingered on her face—that innocent face now flushed with pain.
Her lips trembled uncontrollably, and her breathing was uneven and desperate.
Without wasting another second, Zavian leaned in and pressed his cold, icy lips against her burning, trembling ones.
At that exact moment, a terrifying bolt of lightning split the sky, and the rain suddenly intensified.
It felt as if the heavens themselves were bearing witness to this moment—as if a mysterious storm had been born between them.
Just as the rain and storm had merged into one, the distance between Zavian and Sheyaan vanished in that single instant.
The moment Sheyaan felt Zavian's cold lips, her entire body froze with a sudden jolt.
Zavian tightened his grip around Sheyaan's neck from behind and sealed her lips within his own.
It felt as if the distance of centuries between them had collapsed into a single moment.
But beneath that closeness lay a terrifying truth—the orange energy hidden within Sheyaan's body had begun to burn even more violently.
Already struggling to breathe, Sheyaan grew weaker under Zavian's hold.
Her chest tightened; she felt like she was suffocating. She wanted to push him away,
but her strength had completely given out. All that escaped her lips was a faint, pained sound—
"Ummhh…"
Zavian placed his hand on her waist, pulling her even closer against him.
He was completely lost in the moment… but this wasn't an act of love.
He was trying to draw that poisonous energy out of her and absorb it into himself.
Slowly, the orange energy began rising through Sheyaan's body, reaching up toward her neck.
With it, her pain and restlessness intensified beyond limits.
In agony, Sheyaan clutched Zavian's coat tightly near his chest, while her other hand gripped his back—holding onto him as if he were her last anchor.
Now, the orange energy had reached her neck… and gradually, it began transferring into Zavian's body.
Zavian didn't let go… not until every last trace of that deadly energy had been absorbed into him.
But as that terrifying force entered his body…its effects on Zavian had already begun to show.
Zavian now began to feel the same burning pain within his own body—the same fire that had been tormenting Sheyaan.
That dangerous energy had found its path into him.
Sheyaan gathered what little strength she had left and tried to take a deep breath, but Zavian didn't pull away.
He was completely focused on his purpose—he had to free her from this torment at any cost.
Her restlessness reached its peak. She clutched his coat so tightly that two buttons snapped and scattered.
Her nails dug into his neck, leaving deep marks—but Zavian didn't react.
He stood firm like stone… refusing to move until the last trace of that poisonous energy had fully transferred into him.
Moments later, the burning heat within Sheyaan's body began to fade.
Her breathing slowly stabilized, and in place of pain, a faint sense of relief emerged.
Zavian slowly opened his eyes and gently pulled away from her.
But Sheyaan's eyes remained closed—as if she was still trying to return from the depths of that painful abyss.
Then, very slowly…
Sheyaan opened her tired eyes.
Sheyaan's eyes had turned completely red, with tears streaming down continuously.
Zavian had removed the poisonous orange energy from her body, bringing her relief… but now that same energy was burning him from within.
Because of it, his face was slowly turning pale.
The rain hadn't stopped yet—it continued to pour endlessly from the sky.
Buring his pain deep within Zavian lifted his gaze toward Sheyaan a gentle almost peaceful smile slowly formed on his lips.
As if none of the pain inside him existed and when Sheyaan saw that smile her own lips curved into a soft innocent one.
In that moment, Zavian leaned closer and gently kissed her on the forehead.
For Zavian, it was a moment of relief… and for Sheyaan, it felt like the comfort of an entire world.
For the first time, Zavian had felt her this close.
After the kiss, he pulled back slightly and gently wiped away her tears with his cold hands.
Looking into her eyes, he said in a deep yet gentle voice:
"You're completely.. fine now..." understood!"
He softly brushed his hand across her face. Sheyaan slowly held his hand and whispered softly:
"Hmm… I… I'm..completely fine now."
Hearing her words gave Zavian a brief sense of relief. But inside him, that orange fire was now raging at full intensity—so
much that a cry of pain almost escaped his lips. Yet, he controlled himself.
He exhaled slowly, helped Sheyaan sit up… and then lay down on the cold terrace floor, closing his eyes as the rain poured over him.
A deep, painful groan finally slipped out.
"Aaahhh…"
Seeing him suddenly collapse like that, Sheyaan turned back in panic. In a trembling voice, she asked,
"What… happened to you…?" Huh!"
But Zavian didn't respond. With his eyes shut, he was only trying to endure the merciless energy burning inside him, waiting for it to calm down.
Zavian was a demon—only someone like him could withstand such destructive pain.
Any ordinary human would have been reduced to ashes by now.
He lay motionless arms spread out as the rain poured relentless over him soaking him completely.
He didn't move just waiting for the raging fire within him to finally die down.
As tiny raindrops fell on Zavian's burning body, they brought him a strange sense of relief. The cool wind slowly began calming the raging orange fire within him.
Sheyaan, restless with worry, shook his hand again and asked anxiously,
"Tell me… what happened.. to you? Why are you... lying like this…?"
But Zavian said nothing. Keeping his eyes closed, he held her soft hand… and gently pulled her down beside him.
His voice came out as a soft whisper,
"Just lie.. like this for a while… you've endured a lot of pain. Now just feel...the calm."
After saying that, he fell completely silent.
Sheyaan, now lying so close to him, kept staring at him in confusion. Both of them were drenched in the rain.
one trying to calm the fire within and the other lost in deep thoughts. After a moment of silence, Sheyaan softly asked,
"Can I...ask you something…?"
Zavian was in intense pain, yet he didn't ignore her. He replied quietly,
"Yes… ask." what happened!"
Sheyaan hesitated for a second before speaking,
"I've been noticing... for a few days… you stay... with me day and.. night.
And since when did you... start talking to Fangxi? This morning,... why did you.. only say 'Morning' to her? And… why do you come.. to our house every day…?"
Hearing her questions, Zavian slowly turned his head toward her.
His face was expressionless, his voice carrying that same old dominance. He simply said,
"Ask your... brother that…"
Sheyaan paused, lost in thought. It felt like he was avoiding the question, but she still gathered courage and asked softly,
"Then… can I call you...by your name? I often.. end up calling you 'you'…"
A faint, mysterious smile appeared on Zavian's lips. In a calm, flat tone, he replied,
"You're forgetting... how many times you've already... called me by my name… If you want,... you can call me that."
The moment he gave permission, a small, innocent smile lit up Sheyaan's face. She quickly sat up and said softly,
"We should...go downstairs now…"
But in the very next moment… everything changed.
Zavian, who had just been speaking… now lay completely still and silent on the ground.
The rain kept falling over him, yet he didn't even open his eyes.
Sheyaan stared at him, then called out nervously,
"Zayan ?"
Her No response.
She grabbed his hand and shook it, then tried to wake him—
"Zayan! Get up… what happened to you?"
But he didn't move. She tried again and again to wake him…
but Zavian remained unconscious. Sheyaan's heartbeat quickened fear filled her eyes.
And for the first time in her life Sheyaan feltit a deep unfamiliar concern for Zavian. Sheyaan tried to wake Zavian many times, but Zavian didn't respond.
