Chapter 163 - Blue stone

"I'll see you girls later!" I called back toward them.

"Good luck!" Zoe waved without looking up from her notebook.

Lia turned to face me fully, waited until Zoe's head went back down, and pulled her tongue out.

I left before she could add anything to it. Probably for the best, since she's got a mean tongue game.

The third floor of the school was a different kind of walk. The first and second floors had the density of people moving between things they understood, halls that felt used and navigated. The third floor felt more deliberate, like whoever designed it wanted the distance to mean something before you arrived. More paintings. More sculptures. Items behind glass cases I hadn't learned the names of yet.

Corruption Magic. The name alone pulled something from my memory I hadn't touched since the wasteland.
