Chapter 175 - Chapter 66: Jalter Fights Darius III

Hundreds of Immortal soldiers simultaneously assaulted Rin's boundary. Rin's magic power was draining rapidly, like a broken faucet. Rin could only remain motionless in a meditative posture within the boundary, using the powerful magic power generation of her Dragon Heart to restore magic power, achieving a balance between recovery and consumption. However, Rin could only remain still like this, eyes closed, meditating with full concentration.

Jalter spun the battle flag in her hand, its sharp tip pointing at Darius III, who was like a sculpture of dark iron.

"As you command, Master, I will eliminate this mad bull blocking our path."

"Roar—!"

Even though he had lost his sanity due to Mad Enhancement, Darius III was undeniably a true king. As the last monarch of the once-prosperous Persian Empire, he was not someone to be taken lightly, having managed to impede Iskandar the Great's conquest of the world multiple times!

Clang!!!

The battle flag collided with the golden mace! The ground beneath Jalter and Darius III immediately exploded, sinking three feet! Darius's Strength, which had been pushed to A+ rank due to Mad Enhancement, was now able to contend with Jalter under the enhancement of three command spells.

Even if his Strength could rival Jalter's, Darius III, who was completely consumed by madness, could not match Jalter's speed and her clear, complete combat techniques and martial arts. In close-quarters combat, the smaller Jalter naturally held an advantage. Since she couldn't overpower her opponent with strength, there was no need to continue competing in that area.

Leaving an afterimage behind, she quickly disengaged. Releasing the battle flag from both hands, Jalter leaped forward, her right hand, like a steel-crushing blade, along with half of her forearm, embedded directly into Darius III's abdominal muscles! (The African War God was three and a half meters tall, Jalter, at less than 1.6 meters, wasn't even as tall as his leg...)

A blow of this magnitude could not fell a Servant, especially one like Darius III, who, at a glance, was clearly of a type with exceptional endurance.

Jalter's offensive did not end. Her right arm, still embedded in his muscles, exerted upward force. Jalter lunged upward again, her left hand drawing the sword of saint catherine from her waist, now a demonic blade. The sword was as swift as light! It pierced straight through Darius III's throat!

"Hmm? Surprisingly easy, isn't it?" Jalter muttered with a hint of disdain in her heart. However, Darius III, whose throat was pierced, did not stiffen and disappear as expected. The golden mace, forged from gold, swung towards Jalter, who was clinging to him, without a moment's hesitation! It was as if, due to his madness, he completely disregarded the possibility of injuring himself.

Jalter's mental reflexes were naturally incredibly sharp. She instantly realized that this guy wasn't so easy to deal with. Almost without pausing after striking his throat, she pulled out her sword and disengaged, rapidly arching backward and flipping in mid-air to dodge Darius III's blade. As her upper body inverted downwards, she reached out and grabbed the battle flag she had released earlier, using its tip to brace against the ground, she vaulted to a distant spot, frowning as she looked at her opponent, who was as black as a coal statue.

Though much was described, everything that just happened occurred in an instant. By the time Jalter retreated, the battle flag she had initially let go of had not even fallen. The pace of battle between Servants is far beyond human imagination.

"Roar!"

Darius III, his throat pierced right in the center, roared to the sky as if his ferocity had been unleashed, clashing his pair of massive golden maces above his head! Both the cavity Jalter had created in his abdomen and the sword wound on his throat healed at a visible rate, finally reaching a state where the scars were visible but did not affect his combat ability at all. It was perplexing to see such a recovery skill on a Berserker, known for their one-way, no-return combat style.

This was clearly a Berserker designed for prolonged attrition battles, and at this moment, what Rin and Jalter lacked most was time. Even though Rin was currently recovering while maintaining the barrier, the onslaught of the undead army, which was gradually regrouping, was intensifying. Once the War Elephant of Death broke free, if it charged the barrier with its tusks, Rin would not be able to hold out for long.

"Since you're so tough, I'll smash you to bits in one go!"

Jalter moved again, the battle flag in her hand as sharp as a rainbow! Jalter wielded the battle flag with one hand while simultaneously drawing the sword of saint catherine, which she usually did not use. Do not assume Jalter's swordsmanship was inferior to her battle flag; in fact, her application of swordsmanship surpassed that of the battle flag. After all, Jalter's third class was Saber!

The Demonic Dragon Battle Flag and the one-handed demonic sword, along with that pair of golden maces, instantly clashed countless sparks in space!

Hundreds? Thousands? In short, the sparks that collided in that instant were already countless.

Jalter was like a black swan circling and soaring around a mountain, the battle flag and longsword in her hands were her wings.

Darius III was like an unmoving, dark mountain, the pair of golden maces, weighing tons, felt weightless in his hands.

There was nothing left to destroy on the already desolate land, but the two colossal, out-of-spec forces collided countless times in the air. Cracks began to appear in the spatial barrier, and countless tiny spatial fissures emerged in the air where Jalter and Darius III's weapons intertwined!

Darius III, who could only contend with Jalter in terms of Strength, ultimately could not withstand Jalter in an actual confrontation.

Having lost his sanity, he neither felt pain nor dodged. All unparried attacks were endured by his tough body, but under Jalter's strength and the sharpness of her noble phantasm, his solid muscles and skin were no different from tofu.

On his abdomen, legs, shoulders, waist, arms, and wrists, large, difficult-to-heal wounds accumulated on Darius III's body, which could no longer recover solely by relying on his A-rank Battle Continuation. Even though he had lost his sense of pain, Darius III's fight against Jalter gradually weakened.

As the battle progressed, the onslaught of the regrouping undead army grew fiercer. Gold-armored cavalry and immensely powerful iron-clad chariots, these weapons of war, which had become noble phantasms as Darius III became a Servant, delivered incredibly fierce blows to Rin's supporting barrier.

Boom!!!

A sudden, heavy impact instantly caused the entire space within the barrier to tremble like a magnitude 9 earthquake! The massive amount of magical energy instantly drained caused a huge deficit in Rin's internal Magic Circuits! The accompanying intense pain inevitably distracted Rin, causing chaos in her internal magical energy flow! Rin, whose internal organs were affected by the impact, couldn't stop herself from spitting out a mouthful of blood.

Behind Rin, who stood at the edge of the barrier supporting it, the golden tusks, like a siege ram, and Rin were separated by only a single, thin, cicada-wing-like barrier. The War Elephant of Death, like a mountain, slowly retreated a few steps, then charged at the barrier again!

Boom!!!

Pfft!

Even with preparation, under such a mountain-shattering, city-destroying impact, Rin still uncontrollably spewed out a mouthful of blood. If her body had not already completely transformed into a unified magical energy conductor, as it was now, but had remained as it was in the past, she would have died with all her Magic Circuits severed during the first impact.
