Chapter 197 - *Chapter 196: Winterfell Ablaze, Ironborn Retreat*

The North, Winterfell

"Pfft..."

"Help!"

"Don't come any closer!"

...Amidst a haze of chaos and fear, Jon, wielding Dark Sister and Blackfyre, charged towards Winterfell like an unbridled wild horse, his steps firm and powerful, following the main road of Wintertown.

After the recent zombie outbreak and magical bombardment, these Ironborn, who usually reveled in cruelty and bloodshed, were now like hunted beasts.

Their hearts filled with dread, they only knew to run forward, constantly trying to escape the terrifying presence chasing them from behind.

"Kill them!"

These Ironborn were survivors who had escaped the recent siege, and the Northern Allied Forces soldiers, who had been following Jon in pursuit, also shouted as they chased after them.

These Ironborn had heard legends of Jon, but many tales in the Seven Kingdoms about Jon were more bizarre than the last, making it impossible for them to believe.

But it wasn't until today, when they witnessed Jon's terrifying power with their own eyes, that they truly felt his formidable strength.

Jon now seemed like the storm god from Ironborn legends; each appearance took the lives of many of their companions.

Jon's figure, wielding two swords, was like a lightning bolt streaking across the sea, each strike reaping the lives of those unfortunate enough to confront him.

"Help!"

"Drowned God save me! Drowned God save me!"

"The terrible storm god has come!"

...After enduring various blows, the morale of the Ironborn completely collapsed. They began to scatter and flee, trying to find a place to escape this disaster.

Many minor leaders, upon seeing Winterfell in the distance, finally remembered that they occupied a castle. Thus, at the shouts of these minor leaders, all the Ironborn rushed towards the South Gate.

"Is he going to come in?"

Unlike Theon's resentment, Yara Greyjoy was clearly calmer. Upon seeing Jon mixed in with the fleeing soldiers, the female heir of House Greyjoy finally realized Jon's intention.

"Quick, close the gate!"

"But our men are still outside?"

There were about 800 Ironborn in total, with around 300 remaining in Winterfell. Theon Greyjoy, standing beside Yara, quickly spoke after hearing Yara's command.

"If we wait for that killer god to charge in, we won't have a chance. You just saw it; he's not human at all, he's like the storm god descended, such a terrifying being!"

A trace of fear flashed in Yara's eyes. When facing such a terrifying presence, the only thing she could do was avoid its direct assault.

"Do you think I can't deal with him?"

"No, I don't believe he's that powerful. It must be some kind of sorcery. As long as we send dozens of men to surround him, I don't believe he can defeat everyone!"

Theon immediately spoke after hearing Yara's command.

In Theon's opinion, Jon must have learned some strange magical trickery in Essos to perform such miraculous feats. If he were truly that powerful, he would constantly use those miraculous methods.

But now, Jon was attacking the fleeing Ironborn with a longsword, so Theon immediately concluded that Jon was using some kind of magical trickery.

So Theon had already decided to use a human wave tactic to eliminate Jon, but just as the siblings were arguing, Jon had already reached the vicinity of the South Gate.

While they weren't paying attention, Sonia quietly hid among the people and disappeared from the gatehouse.

At this moment, Jon unleashed all his power, making his speed incredibly fast. Each step seemed to leave a trail of afterimages in space, making it impossible to pinpoint his true location.

He moved like lightning, weaving through enemies, each swing of his weapon taking several lives. The screams of the Ironborn rose and fell, their fear permeating the air, even thicker than the smell of blood.

"Close the gate quickly!"

"Don't close the gate!"

As Jon continuously approached, the Greyjoy siblings on the gatehouse also seemed to sense the approaching danger, but the commands they issued were completely different, and this command made the soldiers below pause for a moment.

"Shut up! This is not the time for your games; you have no idea what we are facing!"

Ultimately, Yara's prestige was higher. She loudly reprimanded her brother and directly shouted to the people below:

"Close the gate quickly!"

Upon receiving the order, the Ironborn guarding the South Gate quickly began to close the gate, but it was already too late to do so.

Jon, wielding his twin swords, was like an unstoppable torrent, directly breaking through all obstacles. His momentum was like a raging storm, making all who tried to block him feel despair.

"Swish, swish, swish..."

The Valyrian steel swords, like a blade storm, churned up a mist of blood in front of Jon, directly cutting down several Ironborn.

And those Ironborn who hadn't yet rushed forward, upon seeing this terrifying scene, all retreated in horror.

"Hoo hoo..."

The continuous hacking greatly depleted Jon's stamina. If it weren't for the Valyrian steel swords and his terrifying strength, he would have probably collapsed halfway there.

But even so, Jon still didn't stop. Although they had won, Eddard and his wife had not yet been rescued.

Eddard, his cheap uncle, had helped Jon immensely, and Jon didn't want to lose him. Moreover, he knew very well that these Ironborn, realizing there was no hope, would surely resort to burning Winterfell or harming Eddard and his wife out of desperation.

These guys had indeed done so in another timeline, and Jon dared not gamble on Theon's pathetic family affection. He was now just a rebellious teenager who only wanted to prove himself. Who knew if he would kill a member of House Stark as his pledge of allegiance, just like in another timeline.

Thinking of this, Jon's speed increased even more. He forced himself to try harder, to persevere a little longer.

Jon swung his sword, each motion bringing forth a rain of blood, as if he were the embodiment of death, mercilessly reaping lives.

The Ironborn guarding the South Gate fell one after another, their bodies hacked to pieces, organs and severed limbs scattered everywhere. Blood stained the entire battlefield, causing the Ironborn who came up from behind to retreat.

Jon's gaze was cold and resolute, without a trace of hesitation or pity. He knew that only through this method could he make these pirates understand that invading his territory came at a price.

---

Meanwhile, in front of a room near the armory, Sonia and Jafar, both wearing cloaks, each held a torch.

"What a waste of all this grain!"

As the alluring Sonia said this, an unspeakable delight filled her heart.

She loved the feeling of destroying everyone's hopes. Sonia, or rather, all these transformed humans, held an inexplicable obsession with destruction and fire.

In their view, burning everything brought them pleasure and joy. So, long before arriving at Winterfell, Sonia had been planning to burn down this beautiful castle.

"Woo woo woo..."

Just as Sonia was about to drop the torch in her hand, a series of low growls came from the distance, and then a dark green figure appeared before Sonia's eyes.

This creature was incredibly fast, so fast that Sonia couldn't react at all. Fortunately, Jafar, who was beside her, quickly reacted.

"Woo woo woo..."

"What!? A Three-headed Hellhound!"

Upon recognizing the opponent's identity, Sonia cried out in alarm.

"Clang, clang, clang..."

As the Three-headed Hellhound charged, Jafar directly confronted it. His dagger, like a venomous fang, quickly left several scratches on the Three-headed Hellhound's body.

But this Three-headed Hellhound's defense was too terrifying; Jafar's attacks could only leave a few scratches on its body.

Moreover, this Three-headed Hellhound's target did not seem to be Jafar. After bypassing him, the Three-headed Hellhound directly attacked Sonia.

"Bang... Crack..."

The three ferocious wolf heads bit at Sonia's neck and left and right shoulders respectively. The Three-headed Hellhound's speed was incredibly fast; it completed the entire series of actions in just two breaths.

"Quickly retreat!"

After being knocked flying, something seemed to fall from Sonia's body, yet she appeared completely unharmed after such an attack. And even as she flew backward, Sonia still had enough strength to order Jafar to retreat.

"Woo woo woo..."

After landing, Sonia also seemed to have used some kind of summoning magic. After a series of distortions, five Mo Sha Hounds appeared, growling, at the spot where she landed.

Upon seeing the Three-headed Hellhound, these Mo Sha Hounds also let out a series of low growls, seemingly issuing a warning.

"Go, quickly! We are not its match. If its master comes, we won't be able to escape at all!"

Although Sonia was curious why there was a Three-headed Hellhound here, after considering some information about Jon, she seemed to understand something.

Seeing that Jafar still wanted to fight the Three-headed Hellhound, Sonia quickly gave him an order.

"Woo woo woo..."

Thus, under Sonia's command, the five Mo Sha Hounds she had summoned directly attacked the Three-headed Hellhound.

Although there was a significant disparity in strength between the two sides, it would still be difficult for the Three-headed Hellhound to eliminate them in a short period.
