Chapter 103: How Could They Possibly Be On The Same Side!
Although the Fairy Elder indeed felt it had grasped a lifeline, it was not entirely blinded by what it saw before its eyes.
It would only feel at ease once Noah and Vortigern truly began to fight.
Thus, even after speaking these words and holding onto hope, it remained extremely tense.
It feared that Vortigern might be utterly impossible to communicate with, simply breathing a stream of fire to incinerate them all—what use would it be then, even if Vortigern and Noah did end up fighting!
So it waited nervously for Vortigern's response.
But Vortigern did not respond.
It merely exhaled a breath.
The scorching airflow made the Fairy Elder feel as if it were being burned, yet even so, it steadfastly kept its gaze fixed on Vortigern, not shifting its eyes away in the slightest.
Still, Vortigern gave it no response whatsoever.
Seeing this, the hope that had risen within the Fairy Elder began to fade, and fear gradually took over its thoughts.
But just then, as if fate were merely playing a cruel joke on it—
Though Vortigern did not respond, Noah, after slaughtering all the fairies on his side, leaped directly toward Vortigern's position in midair!
Watching Noah's movement, the Fairy Elder nearly laughed aloud.
Victory!
As long as the fairies preserved their lives during the battle between Vortigern and Noah, they would win!
Just moments before, when it saw Vortigern ignoring it, it had nearly despaired.
But it never expected Noah to be so foolish!
To actively provoke Vortigern!
Was the White Dragon so easily provoked!
If it were truly weak, wouldn't they have already dealt with it long ago? How could they have allowed the newly born Fairy Forest to be ravaged to this extent!
The Fairy Elder roared inwardly.
Seeing this, the other fairies seemed to grasp their elder's meaning and also breathed sighs of relief.
Then, with hope rekindled, their earlier fear and terror transformed. As they turned their gazes back toward Noah and Vortigern, hatred flashed in their eyes.
They saw both Vortigern and Noah as intruders who had suddenly invaded their home!
Arriving only to wreak havoc!
Devoid of the wisdom intelligent beings should possess!
They completely forgot that this magical realm had been provided by Noah, and they forgot their original plan to take the realm for free, seal the entrance, and feign death on the spot.
As if all the blame lay with Noah and Vortigern, and they were entirely innocent victims.
But such expressions froze solidly on their faces in the next moment.
For after Noah leaped toward Vortigern, Vortigern did not act as they had anticipated—attacking Noah immediately. Instead, facing the leaping Noah, it lowered its head.
As if a subject greeting its sovereign.
The colossal White Dragon bowed its proud head, allowing Noah to land directly upon it.
Then the White Dragon raised its head toward the fairies and let out a roar.
And the king standing atop the White Dragon's head also turned around, once again aiming his weapon at the group of fairies.
At this moment, Noah spoke.
"Perhaps in your expectations, we should be fighting to the death right now, preferably wounding each other severely so you can reap the benefits without lifting a finger..."
At this point, Noah suddenly raised his voice.
"Wishful thinking!"
As Noah said this, the White Dragon also let out two cries, as if echoing Noah's words.
Seeing this, the fairies brought up a possibility they had never even dared to imagine before.
That was...
King Arthur and Vortigern are in cahoots!
"H-how is this possible!?"
"How could you be working together!?"
In the past, whenever faced with despair, there would always be fairies loudly complaining or wailing.
But this time was different.
This time, the first to break the silence and cry out was not any other fairy, but the Fairy Elder, who had always remained calm in critical moments from the very beginning!
At this point, the Fairy Elder could no longer see any hope.
After all, they truly had no way to escape from this magical realm, and their only hope was now severed... Under such circumstances, even it felt despair!
Even its mentality had shattered!
So after shouting, the Fairy Elder abandoned its previous calm demeanor and, with a twisted expression, questioned Noah.
"Why!? Why do you want to wipe us all out? What have we fairies ever done to offend you!?"
The Fairy Elder loudly questioned, seemingly using this method to muster its last bit of courage.
It still couldn't just wait for death.
So even though it knew that if Noah and Vortigern were in cahoots, they stood no chance, it still planned to launch a final attack with the remaining fairies after questioning.
Thus, even though it was already screaming hysterically, there was still a trace of thought behind its questioning.
It was well aware that its people looked down on humans.
So if Noah gave any reason at all, it could use it to inspire its people to muster their last bit of courage, just like itself.
But...
Although Noah had many reasons, he had no intention of wasting words with the Fairy Elder here.
He stomped on Vortigern, directly sending the dragon diving toward the fairies, while he himself spread his arms, holding his weapons horizontally in both hands.
As Vortigern dove, Noah's voice finally rang out.
"If I want to kill, I kill. That's all."
Noah's voice wasn't particularly intense, nor did it contain anger or killing intent. It was just a terrifyingly calm tone, yet colder than bone-chilling malice!
This Noah, combined with the White Dragon that had already charged forward, caused the fairies to completely lose their will to fight and begin scattering in all directions.
The Fairy Elder didn't run.
It watched as Vortigern lunged forward, wanting to use Magecraft, but under Noah's divine pressure, it couldn't muster any proper Magecraft at all.
So it was bitten to death by Vortigern in one bite.
Then, the fairies who had scattered couldn't escape from the magical realm either, and Noah even used Observation Haki to memorize each of their auras.
And so it went.
Only when all 4,925 auras Noah had memorized in the Fairy Forest had vanished did Noah and Vortigern finally stop.
The black flames in the forest extinguished.
Noah directly issued a command to the World Tree. The destruction caused earlier by Noah and Vortigern was restored in an instant, and even the corpses of the fairies were completely disposed of by the World Tree.
Seeing this, Noah smiled and waved at Vortigern, casually opening a door for it. After bowing to Noah, the White Dragon flew straight out.
Noah then observed how the Rhongomyniad had transformed into its current state and felt the surging Life Force within his body, finally letting out a sigh of relief.
"I've obtained everything I wanted, and even got some unexpected gains... Hmm, perfect."
He didn't immediately order the World Tree to create new fairies. Instead, he planned to wait until he returned and consulted Morgan about the Fairy Knights before crafting fairies with specific purposes in mind.
Thus, after the magical realm was fully restored and the entire fairy race was annihilated, Noah opened a door and left the magical realm.
He needed to return and explain the situation here to Morgan.
Besides, heading back early might allow him to catch dinner and prevent her from worrying too much.
With these thoughts in mind, Noah returned to Camelot.
Both Noah and Morgan had recently focused their attention on matters concerning the fairies, causing them to overlook another very minor matter.
That was Artoria's vacation—it had come to an end.
For the past week, Artoria had shut herself in her room to study, repeatedly replaying Morgan's movements from that night in her mind. Now, she was finally confident she could replicate them exactly as her elder sister had!
With her vacation ending tomorrow, Artoria planned to seek out Noah tonight and give him a proper surprise!
Thinking of this, Artoria clenched her fists, firming her resolve.
"Elder Sister, I'm going on the offensive too!"
