Chapter 100: As Expected of the Noble Knight King!
Noah was indeed not as adept at political maneuvering and clever schemes.
But this only meant that Noah was not skilled at using his mind for convoluted matters; it did not mean he was foolish.
In fact, the very fact that he could recognize his own lack of expertise in strategy and cunning compared to true intellectuals was proof enough that he was not stupid.
Moreover, his clear self-awareness often made Morgan and Mary feel exceptionally comfortable when discussing matters with him.
Because Noah would ask when he didn't understand, and his comprehension was not poor. He would never pretend to know what he didn't, nor would he give misguided orders. In such matters, he cared little about saving face—and he was open to advice.
In many ways, Morgan felt that Noah possessed a kind of wisdom that cut straight to the essence of things.
After all, up until now, whenever Noah had been certain about something, he had always been right—without a single mistake.
Although when Morgan mentioned this to Noah, he merely said, "It's not that I'm particularly remarkable—it's simply that I won't stubbornly insist on things I'm uncertain about." Even so, Morgan still believed Noah was quite impressive in this regard.
So when the Fairy Elder proposed cooperation this time, although she had her own thoughts, she immediately looked toward Noah.
As long as Noah had a definite stance on the matter, regardless of her own prior thoughts, she would choose to trust him first.
If Noah was uncertain about it, he would tell her.
Then it would be up to her to handle things.
But the moment Morgan saw Noah smile, she knew this matter was almost out of her hands.
She understood Noah well enough.
Noah's current expression could only mean one thing: regarding the matter of the fairies, Noah already had a plan.
So whether as his advisor or as the future queen... ahem—in any case, when the king has an idea, all one needs to do is support him and trust in their lord!
The advisor's battlefield is when the king is absent or indecisive.
But when the king has a plan, then the king's will becomes the Will of Britain itself!
Morgan fell silent.
Meanwhile, Noah smiled and spoke to the Fairy Elder before him.
"Elder, you just said that as long as we can find an unexplored magical realm to transplant the World Tree into, the World Tree won't die—but is there any risk in the transplantation process?"
Hmm!?
Hearing Noah's words, even the Fairy Elder, who always maintained a calm demeanor, felt a momentary quickening of breath and heartbeat.
"Th-There is certainly risk involved. However, compared to letting the tree die as it is, taking a slight risk offers a chance for it to survive."
Noah nodded.
"Then I'm also curious about this matter. Could you show me the plan for transplanting the World Tree?"
The more detailed Noah's inquiries became, the more the Fairy Elder felt that a possibility it had long dismissed might actually hold hope!
This Chosen King must possess an unexplored magical realm!
Having guessed this much, the Fairy Elder naturally had no reason to refuse Noah's request. Upon hearing his words, it immediately sent two fairies to retrieve the plan they had prepared earlier.
Noah waited patiently, and Morgan remained silent for now.
Soon, the plan Noah wanted to see was laid out before him.
The fairies had even thoughtfully prepared two copies—one for Noah and another for Morgan.
Morgan, who already had some understanding of various forms of Magecraft and miscellaneous knowledge, naturally began reviewing it.
Noah, on the other hand, was largely unfamiliar with Magecraft aside from Alchemy, so he could only grasp the general idea of the document.
But that didn't matter, because he wasn't really reading it for himself—he was relaying it mentally to Mary.
And Mary was well-versed in all sorts of convoluted subjects.
"The plan itself is sound, but if we really intend to carry out the transplantation, we'll need to prepare a great many things and also train specialized personnel."
As Mary spoke, Noah detected the hidden meaning in her words and smiled inwardly.
"Don't worry, such work certainly won't fall on us—the only reason I wanted to see this plan was simply to ask you: if these fairies transplant the World Tree into the Rhongomyniad magical realm, and I then kill all 4,925 fairies currently inside this magical realm, would that affect my becoming the master of the World Tree?"
While waiting for the plan earlier, Noah had already expanded his deified and absurdly wide-ranging Observation Haki.
Thus, he now had a very clear understanding of the number of fairies in this magical realm.
So clear that he had memorized the aura of every single fairy.
Once the World Tree transplantation was complete, he would be the master of the Rhongomyniad magical realm, and he would still be the master of Britain.
As long as these fairies left Hibernia, they would have nowhere to run!
"It wouldn't. After all, the Rhongomyniad magical realm is different from the Fairy Forest. The Fairy Forest magical realm originally had no master, but the Rhongomyniad magical realm was born from the spear you obtained. You are the master of that spear, and you've even inherited its authority, so you are the master of the Rhongomyniad. Once the World Tree connects with the magical realm, you will naturally become the master of the World Tree."
Hearing Mary's explanation, Noah—both in his mind and aloud—spoke these words.
"I see. That puts me at ease."
After saying this, under the watchful eyes of the fairies and Morgan, he spoke again.
"I have a magical realm that's undeveloped and contains nothing—its entrance is on the island of Britain. So, with such a well-prepared plan, the situation might not be as dire as it seems."
"You could transplant the World Tree into that magical realm and establish a new Fairy Forest within it."
Upon hearing Noah's words, the fairies grew very excited.
But after their excitement subsided, the Fairy Elder tried its best to remain calm. First, it bowed deeply to Noah in gratitude, then, after taking a long breath, it asked Noah about the conditions.
"King of Britain, we thank you for your aid. We fairies shall remember your kindness—of course, we cannot simply accept your goodwill without reciprocation. If you have any requests, please state them."
Upon hearing this, Noah waved his hand dismissively.
"Although I am aware of this magical realm, ultimately, it is not particularly useful to me. It is merely a refuge I have prepared for the people of Britain when they face an inevitable doom."
"You are welcome to use it, but I hope you will reserve some space for the people of Britain as well, as a magical realm for us when we confront our inevitable fate."
"Additionally, there is the matter Morgan mentioned earlier about wanting three of your fairies to assist Britain. After all, we are still in the midst of war with Vortigern, so I must ask for your help with this as well."
"These are my conditions. As for anything else—consider it a gesture of friendship. Moreover, as a knight, I cannot stand idly by when others are in need. What do you think?"
Noah's conditions were not only lenient but could even be considered overly generous.
The benefits to the fairies were immense, yet what he asked for in return was minimal.
However, upon hearing Noah's words, the Fairy Elder harbored no suspicions and simply nodded in agreement.
After all, suspicion was pointless.
Regardless of whether the conditions were many or few, it had no intention of fulfilling them.
It did not wish for humans to appear in the new Fairy Forest, nor did it want the fairies to be dragged into the war between Britain and Vortigern.
Thus, once the World Tree was successfully transplanted, it planned to seal off the entrance to the magical realm located in Britain. Once that was done, the magical realm would belong entirely to them!
Perhaps their reputation might suffer for a time, but after thousands, or even tens of thousands of years, who would remember that they had deceived King Arthur to obtain this magical realm?
By then, the fairies would be the true masters of this magical realm!
"Such minor assistance is no trouble at all. As for our clansmen, we are currently short-handed due to the tree transplantation, but once it is completed, you may choose whomever you need. And if you require any help in your struggle against Vortigern, please do not hesitate to ask."
"After all, compared to the kindness you have shown us, what we offer is far too little."
Hearing this, Noah smiled even more warmly. After agreeing on a timeline with the fairies, they parted ways in an atmosphere of mutual goodwill.
The atmosphere was so amicable that the Fairy Elder personally escorted Noah and Morgan out of the magical realm. As they bid farewell, it added:
"Noble Knight King, we thank you for your generosity. Should you ever need assistance, we fairies will surely lend our full support!"
Noah nodded to them with a smile.
Both sides wore friendly expressions.
At least, on the surface.
