In the vast, endless universe, a spaceship drifted steadily forward.
"What's wrong with me?"
"My memory's so fuzzy..."
"It feels like something happened, but I can't remember it clearly..."
Inside the cabin, a handsome, well-built man slowly opened his eyes. Clutching his head, he felt like it was splitting apart.
"Uh... I remember now!"
The man held his head for several minutes before a look of realization finally appeared on his face.
"My new brother and I took down my dad..."
"Right, my brother, where's Jovian?"
Star-Lord had finally remembered who he was. He was Star-Lord, the most handsome space pirate in this stretch of the cosmos, at least in his own opinion. Just a little while ago, he had met his real father, a Celestial who planned to reset the universe. Then, in the name of justice, he had joined forces with his fast-made brother Jovian to stop his father's plot and save peace across the entire universe.
After that...
After that, Star-Lord couldn't remember much.
"Wake up! Come on, wake up!"
As Star-Lord came fully to and looked around the cabin for Jovian, he noticed Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Nebula, and the others, allies and prisoners alike, all unconscious on the floor. He shot to his feet and hurried over, trying to wake them up.
At Star-Lord's calls, everyone slowly opened their bleary eyes, looking around at the world with confused expressions.
"What happened?"
Rocket Raccoon rubbed his head and looked at the anxious Star-Lord in confusion.
"I think we all passed out..."
Star-Lord answered Rocket's question.
"How did we pass out? Why don't I remember any of it?"
Rocket's eyes were still unfocused. He had no memory whatsoever of blacking out.
"Damn it, I don't remember how we passed out either..."
"My memory's blurry. It's like there's a whole chunk missing..."
"The last thing I remember is teaming up with my brother Jovian against my dad."
"As for what happened after that, I have no clue. So I want to ask you all, does anyone remember how we ended up unconscious?"
"And one more thing, does anyone know where my brother Jovian went?"
Star-Lord had no idea what had happened either.
"I don't know."
Gamora shook her head. Her memory was as hazy as everyone else's.
"Don't look at me. I don't know either."
Even though Nebula was no longer a cyborg, her eyes were still just as cold, and the hostility in them seemed even sharper than before.
"I'm Groot!"
Little Groot stood beside Rocket, apparently saying something.
"Mm-hm, got it!"
Rocket crouched beside Groot and nodded repeatedly.
"Groot says he doesn't know either..."
"Come to think of it, all of us are passed out back here, so who's flying the ship right now?"
Rocket suddenly froze.
Everyone on this ship who could actually read a star chart was back here. So who exactly had been piloting the ship and keeping it moving this whole time?
"Huh?!"
The moment Rocket pointed out the obvious, everyone's expressions changed. They all sprinted toward the cockpit to see who was flying the ship.
At the controls, Drax had both hands on the wheel, happily piloting the ship. Standing beside him was a gorgeous young woman with antennae on her head, looking at Drax with open admiration.
"I never imagined you could fly a spaceship. You're amazing."
The beautiful, butterfly-like girl smiled at Drax as she spoke.
"Hahahaha..."
"Flying a ship is actually really simple. You don't even need to learn it. It's easy."
After hearing the girl praise him, Drax laughed loudly and started bragging.
"Drax, where exactly are you trying to fly this ship?"
Just as Drax was basking in his own greatness, the rest of the Guardians rushed in and physically dragged him out of the pilot's seat.
"No, no, don't pull me away! I'm developing a new skill. Soon I'll be able to fly the ship without using my hands at all, only my mind!"
Once the others hauled him out of the seat, Drax looked genuinely distressed.
"Stop that already! You're going to fly us into some dead zone in the middle of nowhere."
"If we leave you at the controls, we'll get lost, fail to find a resource planet, and starve to death."
The others held Drax back while yelling at him.
Elsewhere in the universe, Jovian watched the scene with a faint smile.
He was the one who had knocked them all out. A proper goodbye would have been too much trouble, so he had simply skipped it, put everyone to sleep, and sent them back out into space. As for Drax, a big idiot like him didn't really matter either way.
"Now that they're all awake, it's about time I left too."
Once Jovian confirmed that they had woken up, and that their ship wouldn't immediately get targeted by some wandering pirate crew, and that even if it did they would still be able to fight back, his figure vanished from the MCU universe.
After leaving the MCU's main universe, Jovian did not return to the world of Invincible. Instead, he went to the worlds of The Boys and One-Punch Man.
After arriving in those two worlds, he did only one thing.
He moved the Earths from both worlds into the Invincible universe.
And just like that, a small little solar system in the Invincible universe now contained four separate Earths.
Compared with the panic in the worlds of One-Punch Man and The Boys, the people living on the two Earths already in the Invincible universe took it much better.
In the Invincible universe, inside an utterly ordinary household...
"The truth can only lead to one answer. The culprit is..."
"We interrupt this program for a special report. According to information we just received, our solar system now contains two additional planets nearly identical to our own Earth. There is no need for concern or alarm, because this is considered a normal phenomenon. Reliable experts are calling it..."
"...a cross-dimensional phase displacement event."
A little boy who had been watching an episode of Scooby-Doo with total focus suddenly found the cartoon interrupted by a breaking news report. There were now two more Earths in the solar system.
"It's okay, Tom. This is normal. Nothing to worry about."
His young mother, who was making dinner in the kitchen, answered in a completely natural tone, as if this were just an ordinary everyday thing.
As for the other Earth, the X-Men Earth, with Professor Charles Xavier around, things never turned into major panic there either.
It was only the Earths in The Boys and One-Punch Man, worlds that had never experienced anything like multiversal overlap before, that fell into a certain amount of chaos.
"What exactly is happening?"
"What are the governments hiding?"
"Why did our perfectly normal Earth suddenly become one of four?"
Those were the three biggest questions people on those two Earths wanted answered.
Fortunately, Vought and the Hero Association, both of them acting as Jovian's loyal enforcers, helped stabilize the situation on those two planets.
As time passed, the people of both worlds gradually accepted the fact that two more Earths now existed alongside their own.
As for Jovian...
Jovian had no time to deal with such trivial matters. The moment he removed the Earths from those two universes, he made his move on the universes themselves.
"If I want enough power, there's only one way."
Jovian first entered the universe of The Boys. At this point, that universe no longer had an Earth, no longer had humanity, which meant he could unleash himself without restraint.
His body dissolved into countless streams of blue light, and in the next instant those lights spread across the entire universe. Every planet the blue light touched became part of Jovian's body. It devoured them, absorbed them, then continued on toward new worlds.
"Too slow!"
Watching the blue tendrils spread out through the universe in every direction, Jovian found the pace unacceptable. Flames seemed to ignite all across his body.
Screech!!
A phantom phoenix took shape around him. The beautiful bird wrapped itself around Jovian, then turned into pure energy, giving him immense help in creating more of those blue seeds.
Unlike Ego in the MCU, Jovian possessed a fragment of the Phoenix Force itself, the source of life and emotion.
And once the Phoenix Force started helping, how much faster did he become?
Not twice as fast.
Hundreds of times. Thousands of times. Tens of thousands of times faster.
What had been a grand plan that would have taken Ego hundreds or thousands of years, Jovian completed in less than a week.
When Jovian opened his eyes again in the deep vacuum of space, every planet in The Boys universe had already become one with him.
Power.
Never before had Jovian felt power like this.
At that moment, it seemed to him that there was no place in the universe he could not reach, no part of it he could not control. It was as though he existed everywhere in the universe at once.
He was everywhere.
Screech!
After savoring that feeling for a while, flames suddenly burned again within Jovian's eyes. In the next second, his body seemed to turn into a pitch-black singularity. Everything in The Boys universe, planets, energy, matter, time, space, all of it rushed toward his body.
The planets he had already brought under his control gradually fused into him, becoming one complete whole.
When everything in that universe had finally returned to Jovian alone, all color vanished around him, leaving only a blank white emptiness.
In that vast white space, only Jovian remained standing.
In his hands, he held a universe.
That universe was Jovian's self-universe. The universe was Jovian, and Jovian was the universe.
Jovian had become that universe's Eternity, and an invader to other universes.
By MCU terms, Jovian had become a universe-devouring dimensional lord.
"Next, the world of One-Punch Man."
After devouring The Boys universe, Jovian didn't hesitate for even a moment before heading straight to the One-Punch Man world.
And this time, devouring that world was much easier.
"True form, manifest. Swallow it all!"
With a casual wave of his hand, a universe covered in dark blue tendrils smashed through the barrier between worlds, and countless tendrils poured into the One-Punch Man universe to consume it.
In an instant, the sea of tendrils devoured half the universe.
Then Jovian's speed slowed.
He had met resistance.
On a planet that lay at least twenty years away from the solar system even at near-light speed...
A seer with a face full of tendrils had been staring into a crystal ball. Suddenly, as if she sensed something, she slowly opened her eyes and looked up at the sky.
That day, the heavens split open.
A gigantic crack appeared overhead, and in the next instant countless tendrils came pouring down from the sky.
"An evil god! An outer god has set its sights on this world!"
The alien who herself looked like some eldritch horror turned pale with panic the moment she saw the sky overflowing with those tendrils. Before her death, she saw the destruction of her world, the destruction of the universe.
The moment that evil god descended, there was no future left for this universe.
Boom!
Her people used their powerful psychic abilities to resist the massive tendrils with everything they had.
But no matter how desperately they fought, they could not stop them from falling.
Boom!
The moment the tide of tendrils landed on that planet, all life there became eternal, and the entire world fell silent.
"Collapsing Star Roaring Cannon!!"
In deep space, aliens who looked strikingly similar to Boros attacked the blue tendrils with tremendous beams.
Whenever the blinding light destroyed a tendril, new ones would immediately fill the gap.
It was as if these tendrils, these things threatening the universe itself, could never be eradicated.
Never be made to disappear.
The suns would lose their light.
Alien races would fall silent forever.
Only the glory of the Emperor would continue spreading through the universe, devouring, consuming, until everything had been swallowed whole.
"Children, do not be afraid! You will be born anew!!"
Faintly, the lifeforms that still remained in the universe seemed to hear that voice echoing over and over beside their ears.
They did not know who was speaking.
But after hearing those words, all fear and confusion left their hearts.
"Hahahaha..."
"This is salvation!"
A lifeform that looked like some kind of jackal threw back its head and laughed wildly as it ran straight toward the blue tendrils.
