Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Rushing to the Front, The Divided Battlefield

Jujutsu High

Suguru Geto, Yuta Okkotsu, and Yuki Tsukumo had finally arrived. They stood in silence, their expressions darkening as the monitors replayed the scenes of carnage in Shibuya.

"Souma, Satoru... is this monster really Ryomen Sukuna?"

Suguru paused the video, pointing to the face on the screen—a visage that looked less like a man and more like a malevolent deity of war.

"Yeah. He looks like a real headache," Souma nodded, letting out a weary sigh. "A fossil who's been dead for a thousand years... why couldn't he just stay buried?"

Suguru rubbed his chin. Even through the grainy security footage, he could feel Sukuna's suffocating pressure and his absolute, bone-deep arrogance. It was the posture of a true apex predator.

"If the three of us jump him together, can we win?" Suguru asked.

Satoru grinned, brimming with his usual confidence. "Obviously! No one can stand against the three of us."

Souma immediately popped their bubble. "Forget it. Kenjaku isn't that stupid. He'll find a way to split us up. In fact, I'd wager he's already hand-picked your opponents."

Satoru huffed. "Tch. Do we really have to dance to his tune?"

Beep... Beep... Beep...

An alarm blared, drawing everyone's attention back to the monitors. On the screen, Kenjaku—still wearing the skin of Haruta Shigemo—stood center-frame. Behind him, the three Disaster Curses loomed like shadows.

"Hi~ Hi~ Moshi moshi~ Can you hear me, Jujutsu High?"

Kenjaku flashed a sickeningly smug smile. "We've known each other too long for small talk. I'm at the Shibuya subway station, and behind me..."

Kenjaku stepped aside. The camera revealed thousands of civilians huddled on the tracks, trembling and surrounded by a wall of groaning transfigured humans.

"So many people. Who has the power to save them all?" Kenjaku tilted his head. "Oh, that's right! The invincible Six Eyes! So, who will it be? Souma? Or Satoru?"

"Either way, don't be late. Be here by 3:00 PM. Or else..."

Snap!

Kenjaku flicked his fingers. Mahito lunged forward, grabbing a nearby salaryman. Within seconds, the man's body bloated and exploded into a spray of viscera. The crowd screamed, scrambling backward in a blind panic.

Kenjaku stepped back into the frame. "Better hurry. I'm not sure how many will be left if you dawdle. Good luck, Mr. Savior Six Eyes!"

The feed cut to black amidst Mahito's warped laughter.

"Bastard!" Yuki Tsukumo smashed her fist through the table.

Satoru's eyes were ice-cold as he stared at the blank screen. "Souma... you were right again."

Akari Nitta, the auxiliary manager, suddenly called out, "Souma-senpai! Lord Tengen has activated the barrier. Shibuya is completely sealed!"

Souma took a deep breath and stood up. "The time has come. Let's go, everyone. It's time for war."

Shibuya Sector

"Damn it! Why is that bastard Kenjaku making me team up with these losers?"

Ryu Ishigori looked with visible distaste at Kurourushi and the giant shikigami being manipulated by Dhruv in the distance.

"An old man and a bug. If it weren't for the Binding Vow, I'd blast you both to dust." He sighed, then looked up at Uro Takako, who was floating in the sky. He let out a sharp whistle. "Hey! Beautiful! Want to come down for a drink?"

Uro, whose body was covered only by the warped curtains of "Sky" she manipulated, didn't even turn her head. Her face was a mask of cold indifference.

Ryu scratched his head. "Tch. An ice queen. You know, back in my day, women used to throw themselves at me."

K-BOOM!!!

Suddenly, two of the massive shikigami in the distance disintegrated like collapsing buildings. Ryu and Kurourushi spun around, eyes wide with shock.

"Dhruv... is dead?"

In the sky, Uro's face suddenly contorted with a hatred that had been suppressed for centuries. "A descendant of the Fujiwara..."

In an alleyway, Yuta Okkotsu flicked the blood off his blade. Behind him, the withered corpse of Dhruv Lakdawalla slumped to the ground.

Dhruv, a twice-incarnated legend who had once suppressed all of Wa, was capable of using his shikigami's paths as a domain. Yet, Yuta had breached that domain without warning and ended the fight in an instant.

Yuta looked toward the center of the district, where three pillars of cursed energy burned like infernos. "Three left."

Meguro District

Suguru Geto was flying toward Shibuya atop a giant pelican curse when a high-voltage blue arc shrieked through the air like an anti-aircraft shell.

CRASH!!!

The pelican was vaporized instantly. Suguru landed gracefully on the asphalt, staring at the blue-haired boy blocking his path. The boy had delicate features and a feminine hairstyle, but his eyes burned with a manic lust for battle.

"Hey! Answer me. Are you the strongest sorcerer of this era, Suguru Geto?"

Suguru blinked, pointing at himself. "Me?"

"What? You're not Suguru Geto?"

"Uh... I am Suguru Geto. But if you're looking for the 'strongest,' that would be Souma."

Hajime Kashimo's eye twitched. Veins throbbed on his forehead as electricity crackled violently around his body. "That. Damn. Kenjaku! He lied to me!"

Suguru immediately put on a face of righteous indignation. "I've always hated dishonest people. Come on, let's go find Kenjaku together and deal with him."

"Fine!" Kashimo turned to leave, then froze. He spun back, glaring at Suguru. "You're playing me, aren't you?"

"Not at all."

"..."

Kashimo burst into a jagged, electric grin. "I'll slaughter you first. Then I'll deal with Kenjaku!"

Suguru sighed. The bluff failed. "Well then... let's have a proper fight."

Suguru drew Playful Cloud, his cursed energy erupting with such force that the surrounding wind began to shriek. Kashimo's eyes lit up, his body trembling with excitement.

"You might not be the 'strongest,' but this posture... you are definitely a warrior! Subarashii! To think there was such a delicious appetizer before the main course! Come!"

The two figures vanished, colliding in a deafening shockwave of cursed energy.

Saikyo Line

"Actually, I've been curious about something..."

Yuki Tsukumo looked playfully at Uraume. "Hey, are you a boy or a girl?"

As if she had stepped on a landmine, Uraume's expression twisted into a mask of pure rage. "You foul woman! You seek death!"

"Ice Formation: Frost Calm!"

Uraume blew gently into their palm, and massive pillars of ice erupted toward Yuki with blinding speed.

"Tch. If you're a girl, you've got a hell of a temper," Yuki muttered, instantly activating her technique.

"Star Rage: Gōri!"

Her body was imbued with hundreds of tons of virtual mass, yet her speed remained untouched.

CRASH!!!

Amidst a flurry of ice shards, a brutal battle began.

Shibuya Center

Sukuna sat cross-legged atop a mountain of bones, looking bored. Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, and a slow, cruel smile spread across his lips. The smile grew wider, turning into a manic, bloodthirsty grin.

"Ho? You actually came to challenge me alone?"

"That is... truly bold!"

Souma Gojo removed his sunglasses, slowly looking up at Sukuna. He let out a sharp, jagged laugh.

"Don't get it twisted. I didn't come here to challenge you."

"I came here..."

"To kill you."
