Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: Mutation?

"Love you, love you, okay! Love you too."

Artoria expressionlessly said "I love you" to beauties of various styles. There wasn't a single ripple in her heart; she even wanted to laugh out loud. Just kidding, was she, Artoria, someone who could be easily taken down? You guys are looking down on her too much!

A herbivore that can be tripped up by small bushes like you wouldn't be a beast anymore. She was a figure destined to be a king with a harem of three thousand beauties. How could she give up a larger salt field for a small pinch of salt like you? After the last person left her ward, Artoria made a scumbag's declaration in her solitary room.

"Regarding the issue of the falling stock prices of the genius billionaire Victor Von Doom's company..."

Regarding this news she had just seen, Artoria could only offer three seconds of silence for this man who was screwed over by his best friend and rival. It was truly unfortunate; his investment was a total loss. Fortunately, Artoria had a strong foundation to lean on, so she was fine. But as soon as this guy got into trouble, he was purged by the guys on the board. Now, it wasn't just a matter of falling stock prices; he would likely be kicked off the board soon, then go bankrupt to pay off debts and become a pauper. But that wasn't the main point; six people went up, and yet you were the only one who ended up disfigured. Just how unlucky can you be?

"Life is a tragedy. Okay, thanks!"

"..."

While she was lost in thought, Artoria felt thirsty. Just as she was about to get up for a glass of water, a tray carrying a glass filled with water flew silently to her. Subconsciously, Artoria took the glass and took a sip, casually saying thank you, only to realize that she was supposed to be alone in the room! Artoria froze, a chill running down her spine.

Was this a ghost? Artoria looked around curiously, but there was nothing there; just a metal tray hovering quietly in the air as if held up by some unknown force. However, Artoria didn't sense any threat. What on earth was going on?

"Halt! What monster is this? Show your true form!"

Who knows if a nerve had suddenly misfired, if she'd been beaten silly by Scáthach, or if the cosmic rays had turned her into a chuunibyou, but right now Artoria felt quite adorable. She leaped from the bed, pinned the metal tray down onto the mattress with her foot, and spoke warily to her surroundings.

"Are my nerves too sensitive?"

Kicking away the metal tray, which now bore a footprint, Artoria muttered to herself. This was the first time she'd encountered such a bizarre situation, yet she didn't sense anything out of the ordinary nearby! It frustrated her, but then her stomach growled. Looking at a fruit basket not far away, Artoria didn't really want to move, but she wanted to eat. Ugh! Just as she began to fret, the fruit basket took flight on its own and landed gently in her lap.

"This feeling isn't right! Is it coming from me!?"

This time her mind was focused, and Artoria could clearly feel a strange fluctuation emanating from her forehead when the fruit basket flew up. Picking up a banana from the basket, Artoria began to ponder. She focused her attention on the water glass on the nightstand, imagining she had a non-existent third hand grasping it.

Crack~!

"Have I mutated telekinesis? No, that's not right. The Sentinel's telekinesis and mental power are incredibly strong. Did I drink the Sentry Serum? Or did I mutate from the cosmic rays?"

Artoria looked at her hands, then at the glass that had been crushed into shards by a massive force. She didn't quite understand what kind of power she was using. Artoria didn't know that the pineal gland in her forehead had crystallized, becoming exactly like a gemstone, somewhat similar to the legendary Dragon Crystal. Nor was this the only change; her heart was now completely encased in golden, root-like structures. It was unknown what kind of changes this would bring her.

"Interesting."

Peeling the banana, Artoria felt her stomach starting to growl again. She helplessly took out her phone and had Saturday place an order at Chinatown for enough food to feed dozens. Artoria just lay there motionless; she had just eaten a ton of food, and now it was already depleted. This made her feel like she'd returned to the time her body first started developing—she didn't know why, but her body had suddenly matured into an adult form overnight, and the constant hunger back then was quite unpleasant.

"What exactly is draining so much of my energy? This is so annoying!"

Waiting quietly for the delivery to arrive, Artoria looked at the ample curves on her chest and spoke with some helplessness. But her stomach was so hungry, so hungry, so hungry! Artoria could only roll around on the bed to distract herself; her movements were exactly like a certain gluttonous soul.

"Fine, I'll be there soon! Have someone else take my place for now; it's just a minor surgery."

Compared to Artoria, who was irritable from hunger, Doctor Stephen was currently very busy. He had hundreds of surgeries, large and small, scheduled, with appointments already booked through next month.

The reason he was so famous was that his hands had saved many wealthy people. Furthermore, he was a man of principle; if he wasn't confident in a surgery, he wouldn't perform it even if the patient died right in front of him. Consequently, his surgical success rate had always been the highest in the hospital.

Today, he had just gone to a party to have a drink, but before the party ended, the hospital started pestering him, saying there was a difficult surgery for him. He heard the patient's status was quite high and he was very confident in this specific procedure, so he drove back to the hospital in a hurry.

"Wait... for... me..."

Mr. Stephen completely forgot the rule about not drinking and driving. While taking a curve, the alcohol clearly took effect, dulling his senses. Additionally, a car coming from the opposite direction flashed its high beams, blinding him for a moment. By the time his vision recovered, it was too late.

Bang~!

The expensive luxury car flew right off the road, rolling several times down the slope before half the car plunged into the riverbank. The unfortunate Mr. Stephen had already passed out with a face full of blood. He didn't know that above him, a woman with a shiny bald head was quietly watching it all. She only vanished after Mr. Stephen was rescued. On this night, his fate would undergo a massive transformation; a highly skilled Doctor would cease to exist.
