MIREYA POV
He didn't move his hand. I could feel the warmth of his fingers against mine. My pulse raced, and I had to fight the storm rolling in my heart.. Part of me wanted to, part of me didn't.
"You should rest," he said softly, his voice low, almost a whisper.
"I can't… I keep thinking about… " I stopped, embarrassed.
"About what?" His gaze was sharp, but gentle, like he was trying to read me without pressing too hard.
I swallowed. "Everything… the mountain, the dragon…" My voice cracked slightly.
He let out a slow breath. "You were scared. You're still scared. That's total normal."
I blinked up at him. "But… i thought I was going to die.. and with you shouting my name and running."
He shrugged, a small, almost imperceptible smile tugging at his lips. "I wouldn't let anything happen to you. No one would hurt you. Not even that… beast."
I felt a shiver, remembering the dragon's eyes, the heat, the danger. My hands tightened around the edge of the blanket.
