Adrian took the blast head on but he was a bit far from the centre of the explosion so he didn't take much damage.
The other werewolves were not so lucky and took significant damage. Had their fights with vampires not taken them further from the statue they would've died.
As soon as the explosion died down everything became clear. John and Suzie were relatively fine.
So was Sam and Melissa. The letter two were even further from the statue than he was.
Adrian looked around then paused, one of the werewolves laid there unmoving. His heart had stopped beating.
Adrian knew immediately that this guy was dead. The ground around him started shaking.
A faint and soft silver light surrounded his body like a halo. The ground below his feet cracked.
He raised his hand to the sky and the weapons hanging above like guillotines shone with faint silver light like his body.
" You will pay for that." His voice was but a whisper yet that whisper was heard by all those present.
