Elanore stared down at Naela who'd fallen asleep in the vampire's lap. In the early morning light, Naela slept peacefully. The vampire pulled out the outfit she'd worn previously and placed it on the ground before easing Naela's head onto it.
She watched the girl sleep for a brief moment, noticing the rising and falling of Naela's chest. Elanore grinned and pulled Pot from her inventory.
"Good morning, your majesty!"
"Quiet down a little. Can't you see that she's sleeping?"
The cauldron turned his voice down to a whisper. "Of course, your majesty."
Elanore crossed her arms and nodded. "Well, she is a hard sleeper, so you don't really have to whisper." The vampire chuckled and cast one more glance to the wyvern before looking back at Pot. "Aren't you going to ask me what I plan to do today?"
"Of course, my apologies, your majesty." The cauldron flapped his bat wings and bowed slightly in the air. "What are your magnificent plans for the day?"
"I am glad you asked. Today, we will be arriving in that city, but first, I was curious about two different things." She pulled out the mana orb she'd gotten from the fallen ogre. "I keep using my jeweler's skill to shape these, or I bite into them on my own to taste them."
Elanore placed the large crystal of mana on the ground, noting the faintly orange color of it.
"I see, am I to assume that her majesty wishes to try something new? An experiment perhaps?"
"Precisely."
The vampire pulled out her carno-tooth dagger, observing the serrations along its side. The black knife had a red handle affixed to the bottom where Elanore gripped it. She gently stabbed it towards the crystal, yet nothing happened. The slightly dull tip of dagger didn't pierce the object.
Elanore tilted her head and looked between the dagger and the mana orb. I knew that this thing wasn't sharp, but it is even less sharp than my fangs. What are my fangs even made of?
She didn't want to put more pressure on the core. Otherwise, she might fracture it into tiny pieces, and it would leak its gooey goodness all over the grass. Either way, she reinspected the carno-tooth dagger.
[Epic: Carno-Tooth Dagger - A dagger made from the tooth of a carnotaurus. On its own, it's not very sharp or impressive, but it's known for ease of enchanting. ]
Ease of enchanting, eh? I wonder if Naela would like a little gift?
Though, when she thought about it, Elanore remembered that the wyvern was more used to using her body's natural capabilities. She was strong and had the capability of breathing pink flames from her mouth.
"Maybe I should make something that boosts her natural strength?"
Elanore once again looked at the sleeping and carefree wyvern. The vampires eyes softened. I definitely should make something that prevents her from being harmed.
That thought was like a flash of inspiration, and she immediately got to work. She took out one of her Ella coins and started using her focused, jewel-cutting laser on the dagger's handle. She hollowed out the hole to slot her coin in.
This reminds me of playing arcade games...I wonder if I should put an arcade when I make my queendom?
"Mistress?" Naela asked, slowly blinking her eyes open in the morning light.
Elanore rushed to hide the dagger behind her back and disappeared it into her inventory. "G-good morning, Naela. You're up surprisingly early today."
The wyvern grinned and looked between Elanore and her clothing pillow. "You dirtied your clothes for me?"
Elanore shook her head. "Don't forget that I can easily cleanse them."
Naela nodded and handed the shirt and skirt to her mistress. "Thank you, mistress."
The vampire blushed and scratched her cheek, storing the clothes inside of her inventory. She turned towards the city awkwardly and gestured with her hand. "We should get moving..."
Naela grinned slyly and lunged towards Elanore. Even with all of the vampire's overpowered abilities, she could not stop the attack. The wyvern gripped Elanore's arm. "Let us hold hands, mistress."
Ella felt Naela's hand snake down her arm, and eventually, their fingers became entwined. The vampire's heart thumped hard in her chest, and she looked nervously towards the floating cauldron. Though, Pot didn't say anything about the situation. Her defense attorney rested the case in Naela's hands.
The vampire looked towards the prosecution awkwardly. How can she be so normal about this now!? She was the one getting flustered before! Though, if she looked closely, Elanore saw Naela's gaze flicker away. The vampire noticed the reddened cheeks of the wyvern girl. So, it's all a tough act?
The silliness of Naela acting tough was enough to calm Ella's heart a bit. She found the actions of the maid endearing. In the end, both of us are just clumsy fools.
"Mistress..."
"Right, sorry. Let's head towards the city...I don't know how much longer I can handle this cuteness."
"C-cuteness!?"
Elanore watched how the wyvern squirmed from the compliment, and she grinned. The witchpire thought back to her previous life, attempting to conjure a similar memory, but she had none. She'd never been in a relationship, and that fact was becoming more apparent.
The two of them started walking hand in hand. Elanore was reminded that the only time she held a woman's hand was her own mother. Though, she wanted to file away that memory. Why am I thinking of that now of all times?
Luckily for her, the towering walls started to come into view. Trees were cleared away towards an enormous city. On the outskirts of the grasslands, there were large fields of crops, unlike ones that the vampire recognized.
Though, the thing that interested Elanore the most was the stone road. Out of all of the entrances to civilization she'd seen thus far, this one was the most advanced. The shaped stone blocks making up the path were smoothed over, and there were light posts affixed at intervals.
The wooden things dangled clear lamps with mana crystals inside, but for the moment, all of them were turned off.
In the early morning, there was a large line of people trying to make it inside the enormous fortress. Elanore estimated that the towering walls must have been 20 meters high, and they extended on each side for many miles. Behind the towering structures were large hills, defending the city's rear like a natural deterrent.
The vampire smiled. "I wonder what plan I should cook up to enter this time?"
Naela took a deep breath and shook her head. "Mistress...Shouldn't we just fly over this time? Last time your plan netted us in jail."
"You know what? I have a better idea. Why don't we just march up to the entrance and ask politely?"
