Chapter 248 - Re-registration and Trade

Fortunately, this wasn't a sensitive matter.

Jieming had asked Felix to help him remain anonymous simply to avoid unnecessary trouble.

"Oh?" he asked, puzzled. "Master Roland, how did you find out?"

His tone implicitly confirmed Roland's earlier question.

A smug smile immediately spread across Master Roland's gaunt face.

"Rest assured, no one else could possibly know. Excellency Felix is quite reliable."

"The technical release's information field indeed contains no personal details. However, from the underlying logic of the rune arrangement and the construction of the energy nodes, I sensed a very familiar 'habit'."

Jieming finally understood.

So that's how.

After all, they had once worked side-by-side on the battlefields of the Flamefrost Plane, even collaborating on research missions.

Moreover, Jieming still owed Roland a substantial loan, making them quite familiar with each other.

And "rune construction," much like a mortal's "handwriting," carried a unique, recognizable signature.

Through years of dedicated study and research, each individual develops their own unique, subconscious style and habits.

Those familiar with someone can easily discern these patterns through careful analysis.

Upon hearing Jieming's confirmation, Master Roland's usually gentle eyes suddenly blazed with intense excitement!

He nearly blurted out his eagerness, "Wonderful! Wizard Jieming, do you happen to have any higher-tier versions or subsequent technologies? I'd be willing to pay a substantial sum to acquire them!"

Jieming found his request somewhat odd. "Master Roland, what do you intend to use it for?"

Master Roland rubbed his hands together, visibly agitated.

"I've discovered that your Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol isn't just remarkably effective at stabilizing energy; it also works wonders for stabilizing space!"

"It allows the space within a magical formation to operate in a remarkably stable state, with significantly reduced fluctuations. This technology is an absolute perfect match for wizards like us who specialize in spatial techniques!"

As he spoke, a hint of regret crept into Roland's tone.

"However, the current version of the Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol available for purchase has far too low a 'power output'."

"While increasing the overall coverage area of the magical formation can improve its effectiveness to some extent, its performance remains unsatisfactory for deeper phenomena such as spatial ripples and dimensional rifts—highly sensitive spatial disturbances that demand exceptional stability."

"It's still usable, but since I've had the good fortune to meet you, the original creator of this technology, I'd like to ask if there's a better technique available—one that could further enhance spatial stability beyond its current capabilities."

"After all, for research purposes, the more stable the experimental environment, the better!"

Master Roland's research into spatial phenomena was truly remarkable; he had even discovered the potential of the Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol for spatial stabilization.

However, Master Roland's assessment was far too conservative. In reality, the Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol, derived from the Inner Circulation Method, had never primarily focused on stabilizing energy.

After all, the Inner Circulation Method was originally a cultivation method for creating grotto-heavens. Stabilizing space was one of its primary effects, while stabilizing energy flow was merely a secondary consequence.

Jieming pondered for a moment, then nodded. "I do have such a technique."

Jieming looked at Roland and said slowly, "Moreover, I can sell it to you."

"As for the price..." Jieming smiled slightly. "How about we just deduct it from the loan I'll need to repay you after my advancement to third-tier wizard?"

Roland's eyes lit up at this suggestion, and he immediately agreed!

Although he also desired a more advanced Universal Eye witchcraft model, the one Jieming had previously modified with a new observation module was already sufficient for his needs.

After all, Roland had his own specialized observation methods, and the Universal Eye merely provided supplementary assistance, not an essential requirement.

Higher-level observation techniques existed, but they were prohibitively expensive.

If he could exchange this for a more advanced and stable "research environment," it would be an absolute win-win deal!

"But I don't seem to have saved this information on my terminal..." Jieming suddenly realized another complication. "Fortunately, I have it all in my head. How about we find a quiet place, and I'll write down the relevant techniques and magical formations for you directly?"

"Great! No problem at all. Follow me—I know a good place."

Guided by Roland, the two arrived at an upscale dining room floating in the void and requested a quiet private room.

Jieming wasted no time. He immediately established an encrypted channel between their personal terminal.

On the holographic screen of his terminal, Jieming meticulously recorded the relevant knowledge, transmitting massive streams of information to Roland through the encrypted channel.

When Jieming had originally researched the Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol, his motives were twofold: first, to avoid drawing undue attention to this technology derived from the cultivation system; and second, to facilitate subsequent layers of "harvesting."

To achieve this, he had repeatedly downgraded the technology, ultimately creating the "Popular Edition" version sold on the magic network.

Now, he was providing Roland with the "Professional Edition" technology—a level above the "Popular Edition"!

After verifying the completeness of the technical information, the two quickly signed a legally binding contract, officially completing this valuable transaction.

Master Roland, having finally obtained the technology he had long coveted, was so excited that he skipped dinner and hastily took his leave.

Judging by his eagerness, he must have been impatient to return and set up his new laboratory.

After seeing Roland off, Jieming didn't rush to leave. Instead, he leisurely savored the remaining delicacies.

Several hours later, Jieming, now full and satisfied, finally arrived at the towering Affairs Center, its spire piercing the clouds.

He casually approached an unoccupied window and explained his purpose to the receptionist: "Hello, I'm here to register for the next planar war."

Since this wasn't Jieming's first registration, the process was far more efficient than before.

However, the wizard civilization's regulations remained unchanged.

Each time one participated in a new planar war, a new contract had to be signed.

And signing the contract required the individual's personal presence to leave a soul imprint.

Thus, Jieming had to make this special trip.
