The battle between the two young girls was extremely intense. The numerous wounds made the audience's hearts ache, wishing they could take their place.
Fortunately, neither suffered casualties. Both controlled their power and ended the fight peacefully.
Inside the illusory magic space, Meredy fought Mirajane. Although Meredy couldn't defeat Mirajane, who had activated Satan Soul, the Sensory Link magic proved unbreakable for Mirajane, forcing her to withdraw.
Continuing would only result in mutual defeat, making it impossible to proceed with the upcoming competition. Both conceded simultaneously.
Ultear, however, fought Cana, though it was a one-sided affair.
Cana was speechless. How could there be such a tricky magic? Every Card Magic she threw out was turned back into raw materials. How was she supposed to fight like this?
She looked at Ultear sitting on the rooftop, feeling that Ultear was just playing around, not even using much of her power.
"One last move!"
Cana revealed the Hogoku Magic Mark on her arm, its terrifying light illuminating the sky: "Gather, guide the fairy's river of light! Shine, to vanquish the claws of evil!"
"Fairy Glitter!"
The audience erupted in cheers. This was the powerful attack that destroyed the Magic Power Test Crystal, with a value of 9999. It was sure to be unstoppable.
But then the cheers abruptly stopped. The golden light filling the sky vanished in an instant, leaving only drifting white clouds as if nothing had ever happened.
Cana's face paled: "How is this possible? That was Hogoku Magic!"
A magic that could even severely injure a Ten Wizard Saint had disappeared without a trace. Was the Arc of Time really that powerful?
The Fairy Tail members also widened their eyes in disbelief. How many Hogoku Magics existed on the entire continent? Once used, it could basically decide the outcome.
Mavis explained: "The Arc of Time pushed Fairy Glitter into the past or future. Cana's magic power hasn't reached the level to contend with time."
It must be known that time is one of the world's most mysterious forces, elusive and encompassing all things. To clash with time, one must either be powerful enough to render it ineffective or possess magic of the same type.
Ultear held a Crystal Ball, looking at the panting Cana with a smile: "Shall we continue?"
Cana showed resignation: "No need, you win!"
Her strongest move was ineffective. She didn't want to get beaten up before conceding.
The illusory magic space glowed, and a broadcast voice announced: "Crime Sorcière's Ultear defeats Fairy Tail First Team's Cana."
Ultear's figure flickered several times, arriving at an open-air clearing. Gildarts, Jellal, and Richard had already found a spacious spot, standing far apart, with no one making the first move yet.
Jellal saw her and smiled: "Finished?"
"Of course! Don't think I'm really inferior to you!"
Ultear puffed out her chest proudly. She was once a Ten Wizard Saint council member, after all.
"What's the situation now?"
"Both Gildarts and Richard are top-tier Ten Wizard Saints. One-on-one is manageable, but facing both at once would be dangerous even for me."
Jellal could sense their unfathomable magic power. They were definitely not opponents to be taken lightly.
And the other side likely thought the same.
Ultear knew that at this point, they and Lamia Scale no longer needed to ally. Now it was every man for himself.
"We already have two Flags. As for the Flag we owe Lamia Scale, I'll go eliminate Sabertooth's last member, Rufus."
She knew Fairy Tail First Team still had three members. Without everyone gathered, the final battle couldn't start yet, and there were still three hours left.
Jellal nodded: "Be quick. I'm worried Acnologia and Irene Belserion might appear simultaneously."
Those two were terrifyingly strong. Either one required a joint effort to handle. They absolutely couldn't let their guard down.
Ultear acknowledged and walked into the distance.
After walking along the street for ten minutes, she sensed combat fluctuations ahead and rushed forward at high speed.
Upon reaching the scene, she saw Natsu carrying a large Flag, with Rufus lying unconscious on the other side. The broadcast announced: "Fairy Tail Second Team's Natsu defeats Sabertooth's Rufus."
Thus, the Sabertooth guild was completely eliminated!
Natsu saw Ultear and showed surprise: "It's you, the one who turned from male to female on Galuna Island?"
"I was always female!" Ultear said angrily.
"Whatever."
Natsu raised his hand, planting the Flag in the ground, brimming with fighting spirit: "I heard you're Gray's senior sister. Let me test you!"
"Damn it!"
Ultear decided to teach this brat a lesson. How dare he say her gender didn't matter? She was so beautiful—it'd be a waste if she were male.
She tossed the Crystal Ball into the air, then cold energy emanated from her body, freezing everything in all directions.
"You've fought several tough battles already. Do you still have magic power to face me?"
Ultear sneered, adopting the same starting stance as Gray's Ice-Make Magic.
"Of course! I'm at my peak right now!"
Natsu's face lit up with excitement. Flames erupted from his entire body, like a fire dragon roaring. The scorching heat clashed with the icy aura, producing wisps of white smoke.
"Here I come!"
He took the initiative, riding the flames skyward, then plummeted like a meteor, directly invading the frigid zone.
"Ice Shield!"
A clear, cold voice rang out. A massive Ice Shield appeared above Ultear.
Natsu threw a violent punch, instantly shattering the Ice Shield. Just as he was about to attack Ultear, an Ice Spike shot from the ground, launching him high into the air.
"That hurts!"
A red mark appeared on Natsu's abdomen. Fortunately, his flames were strong enough to melt the ice tip in time, preventing impalement.
Truly Gray's senior sister, her combat methods were even more fierce.
"You're not scared, are you?"
Ultear chuckled, dashing close to Natsu. A sweeping kick sent him flying, followed by an Ice Pillar rising from the ground, trapping Natsu inside.
"Again!"
Natsu roared, flames erupting and instantly evaporating the Ice Pillar into steam. Then he gathered magic power in his mouth and roared out: "Fire Dragon's Roar!"
Ultear watched the oncoming fire tornado, the terrifying heat making her marvel: "Such a terrifying temperature. Truly Dragon Slayer Flames."
"Arc of Time!"
As her voice fell, all the flames vanished.
Natsu was shocked: "Where's my fire?"
Ultear floated back gracefully, saying calmly: "Catch me and I'll tell you!"
"Don't think you can run!"
Natsu didn't hesitate at all, abandoning the Flag he'd just seized and charging forward.
However, Ultear soon stopped, standing proudly on a rooftop, smiling: "Do you know where this is?"
"Huh??"
Natsu looked around at the buildings but couldn't make sense of it. This unfamiliar town all looked the same to him.
He frowned: "What are you talking about?"
Ultear showed a triumphant smile, waving her hand and chanting: "Gather, guide the fairy's river of light! Shine, to vanquish the claws of evil!"
Intense golden light illuminated the sky. Terrifying golden magic power connected heaven and earth. The surrounding ground began to crumble, turning into dust.
