They broke apart just an inch, both of them breathing heavily. Huai's lips were a little swollen, his eyes wet and bright, his chest rising fast under Wuhe's hand. Wuhe was just as breathless, his forehead pressed to Huai's, his arms still locked around his waist like he was afraid to loosen them.
Huai tried to glare at him, but it failed completely because he was still panting. "You... you really are a pervert."
Wuhe smiled, his voice low and hoarse from the kissing. "Yours."
Huai had no comeback for that. He just hid his burning face in Wuhe's neck and stayed there, breathing him in.
Outside the courtyard, a small voice rang out.
"Master!"
Huai's head snapped up the instant he heard it. He was off the bed in a second, hastily smoothing his robes and trying to look presentable. Wuhe was still sprawled on the bed, his hair a mess, his collar loose from the morning.
The door slid open before either of them could speak.
Yan stood there, eyes red and teary. He looked at Huai first, his lip trembling. Then his gaze flicked to Wuhe, who was in bed in an obviously awkward position, blanket half off and clearly disheveled. Yan did not care about that. He ran straight to Huai and threw his arms around his leg, holding on tight.
Huai sighed and crouched down, his hand gentle on Yan's hair. "Yan. What happened?"
Yan was still sobbing, sitting on the floor now, refusing to let go of Huai's leg. His voice was thick and broken. "Master... you left yesterday suddenly. And you didn't come back to me. I... I thought something happened to Grand Elder."
Wuhe watched from the bed with helpless eyes. He and Huai had only met Yan a few days ago, but the boy had already became so close to them like he was their own child. Wuhe could not help the small chuckle that escaped him. He got up, fixed his robe quickly, and walked over.
He bent down and scooped Yan into his arms, holding him close. "Yan," he said, looking at the tearful little face, "did you take good care of your master while I was unconscious?"
Yan sniffled and nodded against Wuhe's shoulder. "Yes. I took good care of Master. But Master suddenly disappeared yesterday."
Wuhe sighed and rubbed his back. "Your master came to me. He treated my wounds."
As he said it, his eyes flicked up to Huai. For a split second, something dark and possessive flashed in them. The wolf inside him flared up at the sight of Huai standing there, robes still rumpled, lips still a little red from their kiss.
Huai caught that look immediately. He rolled his eyes and turned his face away, but Wuhe heard him perfectly clear in his mind.
" Pervert ! An absolute pervert ! "
Wuhe's smile turned wolfish. He hugged Yan a little tighter, like the boy was a shield, and looked at Huai with open amusement.
Huai ignored him and focused on Yan instead, wiping the boy's cheeks with his sleeve. "I am here now. Grand Elder is fine too. Do not cry anymore, all right?"
Yan hiccupped and nodded, but he still clung to Wuhe, his small hands fisted in Wuhe's robe, as if he needed to make sure neither of them would vanish again.
On the other side, Lin Feng and Bai Wei both arrived at the main Eternal Hall. They announced their presence before entering, then stepped inside and bowed.
"Disciple Lin Feng, Bai Wei, requests an audience with the Sect Master," they said in unison.
Far away in the courtyard on Sword Star, Huai felt the fluctuation through the wisp of consciousness he had left inside the Eternal Hall.
A phantom of Huai appeared in the hall instantly.
Lin Feng and Bai Wei bowed deeper when they saw him.
Huai looked at them calmly. "Lin Feng, Bai Wei. What do you wish to discuss?"
Lin Feng glanced at Bai Wei, then looked back at Huai. "Brother..." He caught himself, then corrected, "Sect Master!" He hesitated for a moment, then steeled his heart and spoke firmly. "Brother, I want to leave the sect to find my sister. She has been missing since my entire family was massacred."
Huai turned his gaze to Bai Wei. Bai Wei met his eyes and said, "I want to follow him, brother."
In private, Huai had always told them to speak to him as they normally would, but they forgot for a moment under the weight of the hall.
Huai chuckled softly. "Then go." His voice turned serious, and he spoke in a way that only they could hear. "Ji Wuxuan, come here."
Ji Wuxuan appeared before Huai in the Eternal Hall in the next breath. He bowed low. "Your Highness. Do you require something?"
Huai nodded. "Follow Lin Feng and Bai Wei from the shadows. Or send someone you trust with them. They will be leaving the sect for a few days."
Ji Wuxuan nodded and waited.
Huai looked back at the other two. "Remember this. If you feel threatened, even with Wuxuan with you, use the token Wuhe gave you. Do not hesitate."
Lin Feng and Bai Wei both bowed again. "Understood." They left the hall with Ji Wuxuan.
Huai's phantom remained for a moment longer. His eyes looked off into the distance, seeing far beyond the hall. He saw Lin Feng's sister's location. What he saw there made his brows rise slightly.
"This plane is getting more interesting," he murmured.
And then his phantom vanished from the spot.
Lin Feng and Bai Wei left the sect using a space shuttle that Huai had given them earlier, along with cultivation resources and travel supplies. It was a Level 5 space shuttle, fast enough to cross planes and sturdy enough to avoid most void storms.
Ji Wuxuan was also with them, moving in the shadows. He never showed himself again after they departed. He stayed hidden so they would feel comfortable on the journey and not feel like they were being watched.
Lin Feng and Bai Wei left Blue Star. Then their space shuttle left the Red Lotus Galaxy too. Now they are in the endless void. Although they have no clue about his sister, Huai had told them to go somewhere. They know their Senior Brother Huai is different, a person with terrifying power. So they followed the lead and went toward a distant galaxy called the Snow World Galaxy, a galaxy covered in snow and ice.
They entered the beautiful frozen galaxy with their space shuttle.
For Lin Feng and Bai Wei, who had never left their sect before, the sight was overwhelming.
The entire galaxy was wrapped in silver and white. Stars here did not burn with fire. They glowed like cold, pale lanterns, scattering soft light across endless fields of ice. Broken planets drifted slowly, each one covered in thick layers of snow and blue glaciers that reflected the starlight. Long rivers of stardust hung in the void, frozen mid flow, glittering like shattered crystal.
Their space shuttle passed through clouds of fine ice mist. The mist clung to the hull for a moment, then fell away in tiny, glowing specks. In the distance, auroras stretched across the darkness, wide bands of soft blue and violet light that moved without sound.
It was silent. The kind of silence they had only read about in sect records. No beasts, no wind, just the quiet hum of their shuttle and the endless white around them.
Lin Feng stood by the viewing window. His hand was pressed to the cold glass. Bai Wei was beside him, his usual calm expression gone, replaced with wide eyes.
Neither of them spoke. This was the first world they had seen outside the Eternal Sect. It was beautiful in a way that made their chests feel tight.
They came near an icy blue star, glowing differently from the other planets. This planet is called Binglan Star.
From orbit, Binglan Star looked like a clear blue pearl. Its surface was not dark rock or sea, but vast plains of clean ice and crystal lakes that reflected the light of the Snow World Galaxy. Even from space, they could see lights moving below. Cities glowed warm against the cold, and the people on the planet were bustling with joy and happiness.
They took their space shuttle into their spatial ring, and they wanted to enter the planet, but they were stopped by the patrolling team known as the Ice Guards. This planet was controlled by a Level 3 sect known as the Glacial Veil Sect.
To enter this planet, they needed to pay at least 1,000 top grade spirit stones per person. Lin Feng frowned. It was too costly, but he still paid the amount for him and Bai Wei.
As for Ji Wuxuan, they thought the elder was not with them. Although the Sect Master had told him to follow them, after leaving the Eternal Hall Lin Feng had said to Ji Wuxuan, "Elder, you don't need to follow us. We don't know where we are going. It would be a waste for you to follow along." Bai Wei had also mentioned, "Brother Huai already said to use the token Grand Elder gave me, so I think it will be okay if you do your important tasks inside the sect." Ji Wuxuan had just nodded. They thought he was not following them.
Lin Feng and Bai Wei entered the beautiful bustling city of this planet.
The city was called Frostlight City. Unlike the silent void outside, the city was full of life and sound. The streets were paved with smooth, clear ice that never melted, and under the ice, warm golden arrays glowed, keeping the air comfortable. Lanterns made of frost crystal hung from every building, casting soft blue and white light.
People walked the streets in thick white and blue robes, laughing and talking. Vendors sold hot spirit soups that steamed in the cold air, skewers of flame roasted ice beast meat, and sweets shaped like snowflakes. Children chased each other with small ice kites that floated without strings. Music played from a corner where cultivators used ice instruments that chimed like bells.
Even though the whole world was ice, the city felt warm. It was the warmth of people who were safe, happy, and at peace under the protection of the Glacial Veil Sect.
Lin Feng and Bai Wei, who had only known the quiet discipline of the Eternal Sect, stopped at the city gate for a moment, just watching the crowd.
They entered a beautiful restaurant near the main street. The building was made of clear ice brick, but inside it was warm. A formation under the floor glowed softly, and the tables were carved from white spirit wood. This inn is known as The Frostheart Pavilion.
They ordered some food. The food arrived in just a few minutes.
The server brought out four dishes. They sat down and the food came fast.
Snow Lotus Soup - hot clear broth with ice fish and tofu. Sweet and warm, Frost Beast Skewers - grilled meat on crystal sticks. Crispy outside, juicy inside, Blue Glacier Rice - soft blue rice with butter and herbs. Light and fragrant , Snowflake Pastry - cold, flaky dessert filled with honey cream. Melts in the mouth.
Lin Feng and Bai Wei ate quietly. It was their first real meal outside the sect.
After paying for their food, they took a private room on the highest level of the inn.
The room was quiet. The walls were clear ice, but a warming formation kept it comfortable. A soft blue lantern hung low over the bed, and outside the large window, the aurora of Binglan Star moved slowly across the sky.
Lin Feng closed the door. Bai Wei was still looking out at the snow, his shoulders finally relaxed after the long journey.
Lin Feng walked up behind him and did not say anything. He was the one who moved first. He reached out, grabbed Bai Wei's wrist, and turned him around.
Bai Wei looked surprised for a second. Lin Feng's ears were red, but his eyes were firm.
He leaned in and kissed him.
It was not practiced or smooth. It was direct and a little desperate, like he had been holding it in since they left the sect. His hands held Bai Wei's robe tight.
Bai Wei froze, then softened. He put a hand on Lin Feng's back and kissed him back, slow and steady.
