The Serpent Lairois are considered one of the rarer forms of Lairois, primarily found in lakes, rivers, and waterfalls, where spiritual energy and human fear often accumulate. Unlike common Lairois such as the Hui, these entities are more territorial and tend to remain hidden beneath water bodies, only emerging when provoked or when their hunger intensifies. Their presence is often mistaken for myths or local legends, which further strengthens their existence over time.
In appearance, Serpent Lairois resemble massive snakes, often exceeding 10 to 20 meters in length, with abnormal features such as horns, glowing eyes, and patterned scales. Their bodies are usually adapted to their environment, allowing them to blend into murky waters or strike suddenly from beneath the surface. Their movements are silent yet swift, making them extremely dangerous to both humans and inexperienced sorcerers.
The origin of Serpent Lairois lies in the deep-rooted human fear of serpents. For generations, stories of man-eating snakes and lake monsters have shaped collective fear, which eventually manifests into these Lairois. However, not all Serpent Lairois are equal. Some are born weak, newly formed from recent fear, while others are born strong due to intense accumulated emotions. Certain individuals can also evolve over time, growing stronger through survival and combat.
A Serpent Lairois typically undergoes three stages of evolution, each significantly increasing its power, intelligence, and size. At its peak evolution, it can reach the rank of Ningtham Maithou, making it a high-level threat capable of overwhelming multiple sorcerers. The Loktak Serpent encountered by Lanthaba was still in its early stage, which explains why it had not yet reached its full destructive potential.
Their primary ability is Hydrokinesis, allowing them to manipulate large volumes of water with ease. Advanced Serpent Lairois can create whirlpools, high-pressure water projectiles, and tidal surges, turning their environment into a battlefield under their control. Combined with their extremely tough scales and regenerative traits, they are difficult to defeat through direct attacks alone.
Because of their adaptability, evolution potential, and control over water, Serpent Lairois are classified as high-risk entities despite their rarity. Experienced sorcerers often treat any report of a giant serpent near water as a possible Lairois manifestation, as underestimating such a creature can lead to devastating consequences.
