Chapter 248
"I'm not really sure about it," Alex said, scratching his cheek with one finger. "I don't really fancy going to those types of parties. I kinda find it too loud, plus way too many people."
Emily turned toward him in her seat and pouted cutely while tilting her head to one side.
"Oh come on, Alex. Please? I heard from my friend that it's going to be really fun. Everyone is going to be there." She played with the hem of her skirt and lowered her voice shyly. "And besides I was kind of hoping that the two of us could maybe go there together."
Alex pretended to sigh, like he was thinking really hard about it. He kept his eyes on the road and let a few seconds pass in silence. Then he gave her a small, shy smile.
"Okay. If that's what you want, I'd be more than happy to go with you."
"Really?" Emily clapped her hands softly, her eyes shining. "Yay! You're the best, Alex!"
