Sofia's body stiffened, before a faint flush crept up her neck, slowly spreading toward her cheeks as she tried to focus her attention back on the flower in front of her.
Alex almost smirked smugly while watching her flustered movements, but immediately concealed it. He didn't want all his pain-staking efforts to be for nothing. So leaning casually beside her, he lowered himself to appear helpful, while his eyes continued to sweep over the meticulous arrangement she had been working on all this while.
"So I guess you're tying them to keep them straight, right?" He asked genuinely curious.
Sofia nodded, grateful for the normal conversation to ground her and wash away the awkward atmosphere.
"Yes... Roses can be really stubborn at times, if you don't guide them early. They usually tend to grow all over the place." She let out a soft chuckle. "Kind of like people."
"Hmm... Seems like you've had your fair share of experience with people?"
