Chapter 128 - Chapter 123: Running Away

The Brilliant Dreamscape of the Spirit World is composed of many dreams, forming a spherical shape overall, with small dots representing dreams distributed throughout the sphere.

At the center of the sphere is a magnificent palace.

The entire palace has no roof, and contiguous walls are rare; most of it consists of columns made of milky white stone, neatly arranged throughout the palace complex.

Each column has its own unique pattern; some depict a soldier fighting, others a giant demon sacrificing to a deity... And in the center of the palace complex, there is a small clearing covered with a carpet seemingly made of feathers, upon which a silver-gray dragon is lying.

It was curled up, motionless, seemingly deep in slumber. Its claws were relatively small and narrow, and there were no signs of battle on its body.

It is Felicite, the Lord of the Brilliant Dreamscape, and its favorite thing to do normally is dream here.

But today, it might not be able to indulge in its hobby so pleasantly.

A sharp, black, rhomboid stone leaped out of the air and smashed directly onto Felicite's head, but this did not wake it. The dragon remained completely still.

The stone rolled onto the ground, then stood upright, emitting a sharp sound.

"Felicite, wake up!!"

The surging sound waves caused the nearby columns to shake slightly.

"Hmm?!!" Only then did Felicite slowly wake up, its dragon eyes half-closed, seemingly still savoring the beautiful dream it just had.

It glanced briefly around, then lowered its head and saw the black rhomboid stone standing on the ground.

"It's you? What do you need me for?"

It recognized the stone as the tool it used to contact a deity far away in the Star Realm. It remembered that the other party was strictly speaking also a member of the Dragon Race, and had helped it acquire two dreams, so they were fairly acquainted.

It remembered the other party's title was something strange like the Dragon God of the Rear Head, seemingly representing the boundary and space between humans and the Dragon Race... The black rhomboid stone did not immediately speak, but swayed twice, and a slightly smiling voice emerged.

"I need to manually restart Dreamscape Number Two under my jurisdiction."

Felicite was somewhat surprised upon hearing this. It raised a dragon claw, scratched its head, and continued:

"Manual restart? I thought... didn't you reject my proposal last time?"

"Last time, you complained that the cost of restarting was too high. Although it could kill that resurrected Dragon Race member, it wasn't worth the cost."

"I also remember you saying it was more cost-effective to wait for the target to leave the dreamscape and then send subordinates to hunt them down, rather than letting the Spirit World automatically restart it."

"What? Did you change your mind? Did that dragon desecrate your idol?!"

Another smiling voice came from inside the rhomboid stone, and this time the smile was clearly broader.

"It's not that dragon. By now, that dragon's corpse is probably not even intact..."

"It's one of our own... Of course, I don't mean the Dragon Race."

"He happened to obtain an opportunity, an opportunity that only a small fraction of us can find."

"This opportunity will cause me some loss, but I am not a petty dragon..."

"If this colleague of mine were willing to communicate with me and promise to compensate me afterward, then I wouldn't mind letting him seize this hard-won opportunity."

The voice then paused, and the sound that emerged from the rhomboid stone again was somewhat gloomy.

"The result, as you can see, is that I came to find you. My colleague was not satisfied with the price I quoted him."

"So I came to find you, to teach my colleague a lesson: never underestimate a dragon."

"I remember it takes three days for the Brilliant Dreamscape to record a new point, right..."

"I will cover the materials needed for the manual restart. Start the operation now."

Felicite's dragon tail swished once. Having listened to the story, and being a member of the Dragon Race itself, it said empathetically:

"That's right, let him know not to underestimate a dragon..."

Felicite knew that it was now embroiled in a conflict between two Star Realm existences, but it didn't care.

If this had happened when it first became a lord of the spirit realm, it might have been afraid and immediately retreated into a dream, refusing to come out upon hearing this matter.

Although it admitted that the Star Realm existences called gods were truly powerful, their strength far surpassed that of lord of the spirit realms like itself, and in a real fight, it could be instantly subdued.

But now it understood that these gods were nothing special; with the Spirit World's barrier in place, those gods absolutely could not affect it, a lord of the spirit realm.

No matter what divine power was used, it could not inflict any injury on its body, because it was the Lord of a large region of the Spirit World, equivalent to a small part of the Spirit World itself.

Felicite invoked the authority of a lord of the spirit realm, and many points of light floated before it.

"Can I deduct the cost from the Spirit Crystals you receive from the dreamscape over ten years?"

"Yes, that is reasonable."

Spirit Crystals are a high-level resource produced by various blocks of the Spirit World, and the proceeds are sent to the local lords.

Using the authority of the Spirit World requires consuming some of these Spirit Crystals, and besides that, they have other functions... Felicite wasted no time, directly clicking a point of light with its claw and beginning the operation using the Spirit Crystals.

"Hmm?!!"

Felicite lowered its head, looked at the rhomboid stone on the ground, and said:

"Why are you asking me to restart the Spirit World Trial? How can our lord's authority affect matters of the Spirit World?!"

The rhomboid stone explained:

"It seems they are a bit slow, but it should be fast now. Just wait a bit, no rush."

At this moment, the Dragon God of the Rear Head inside the rhomboid stone fell into thought. This was not quite what it had imagined.

It clearly felt the power the Lord of Radiance had descended into the Spirit World; it should have been able to instantly blast that dragon into smithereens the moment Quentin came out. But why was it so slow now?

Did He not give all His power to that human? Wasn't that human His chosen Proxy? What was He doing with the rest of His power..."The Spirit World Trial is over, the operation can proceed."

Felicite noticed the change within the Domain and spoke, then continued to click the point of light with its dragon claw.

But then something neither of them expected happened: that point of light erupted in a strong flash, and then vanished completely.

Felicite held up its dragon claw, poking the air several times before truly confirming that the point of light was gone, which meant... "My dreamscape!!!!"

Felicite immediately leaped up from the ground, letting out a roar of rage.

The disappearance of the light point meant that the dreamscape had completely escaped its control.

The rhomboid stone stood in place, deep in thought.

It hadn't expected the other party to calculate this move—after gaining administrative control of the dreamscape, they simply dragged the dreamscape and ran away.

Divine power has many wonderful uses, and using it directly for attack is merely the most rudimentary application; He could also achieve this.

But wasn't He afraid that the human still in the trial would fail?

One must know that simply moving that dreamscape consumed over half of the divine power, and after that divine power was converted into energy usable by mortals, there was almost nothing left.

A sigh came from inside the stone, but that was the reality. The other party... "(Dragon Race profanity), this is all because of you."

Seeing the rhomboid stone still standing on the ground, Felicite vented its dissatisfaction with a swipe of its tail. The rhomboid stone crashed into a column, leaving behind only tiny black fragments.
