Irene felt heat rise in her chest. "I he's just… being playful. It's nothing serious."
Lucian didn't move, but the tension in the air made it feel like he could crush her with a look. "Stay away from him"
"I can't because you can't tell me what to do", irene said

"Hell nah, I'm just trying to protect you. Or did you have a reason why I should be jealous?" Lucian asked as he stepped closer, almost closing the distance between them.
Irene felt heat rise to her cheeks. She wanted to look away, but she didn't. Instead, she tilted her head, "Protect me?" she repeated teasingly. "From what? Dancing with someone who's literally just dancing?"
"The guy is not human, did you know?" Lucian added, his tone darkening.
"I know," Irene replied, her eyes sharp. "And he's not the only vampire here or in school."
"You know what you need to stop this , just leave me alone for now please", irene said as she went inside in anger
It's monday, The school halls buzzed with chatter, lockers slamming, and footsteps echoing off the tile floor
Irene walked with some books and her left hand drawn to her chest and her bag was on her right shoulder
Then she saw Lucian standing near the window of one of classes, sunlight cutting across his face. Someone was talking to him but she didn't catch who

First period came, The classroom buzzed with energy from the weekend, students talking over one another while the teacher tried to regain control. Irene slid into her seat, pulling out her notebook, pretending to focus.

Lucian stood near the far edge this time, surrounded by his so called friends Someone said something that made the group laugh and he laughed too

"Why? ", mia said
" He said i should be careful with logan .. ", irene replied

"And i overreacted about it, and now i'm feeling like i said too much", irene continued
"Hmm have you speak with him? ", mia asked
" No, because he ignored me i don't ecen know how i will talk to him", mia said

"Don't worry he won't react bad", mia encoraged her
Before the two knew ut lunch time has ended and people are already leaving then the principal anounced that there is sport
Teams were split across the field, irene ended up near the sideline at first, stretching and Lucian was on the opposite side.
At some point, the game started. Someone passed the ball too hard and it bounced off the ground and rolled toward irene
Irene stepped forward automatically, catching it before it went out.
"Pass!" someone shouted, and she passed Straight toward Lucian.
For a split second, it felt like everything like slow motion.
He caught it easily.
And for the first time that day, he looked directly at her without looking away.
Irene held his gaze longer than she meant to again, Then someone collided into him, breaking the moment, the game snapping back into motion.
He turned away to join the next game
After school, the corridors us filled wirh noise and footsteps
Irene took her time packing up, letting the classroom thin out before stepping into the hall.
She thought everyone has already gone but she is wrong as she sees lucian in the corridors,Leaning against the lockers this time, with cigarate in his hand
"Is he waiting for me? " Irene blushed and said in her mind as she walks toward him
"Hey", irene said
" Hey? ", lucian replied
" Hmm i.. I want to apologize for what i did and said to you at the party, please i'm deeply sorry, i was in party mode that time and i couldn't think well", she apolozied
"I hope i didn't hurt you? ", she asked

"Do you smoke? ", irene asked
" Yes hmm no", lucian replied
"Yes or no which one? ", irene asked
" Yes, but i barely smoke", he said
"Ohh, i see", she murmured, nodding slowly
" Do you wanna smoke? ", lucian said as point the cigrate to her direction
" I don't smoke", irene said jokinly
"Stop it, me and you know you smoke so don't pretend", he smiled
" Hmmm, thanks", she smiles as she collect it from him and put it into her mouth
"I meant what I said," Irene added after a moment. "About being sorry."

"Are we okay?" she asked, softly

"So do you enjoy the party? ", lucian asked
" Yeah", she nodded

" And you? ", irene asked him as the both of them are walking out of the corridors

" Yes, but she is still small", lucian replied"and you? "
