Chapter 4 - Bubbles ON my life Will Kill you

For some god-damn reason Marabell tripped, fell on her face, and made a screeching sound that woke the damn beast. It looked at us with its inverted eyes. The thing roared, thundering and shaking the room.

Then, for some reason, I saw a boss title intro:

Bubbles the All-Thundering Demon God

Why, RNGSUS? What did I do to you?

Bubbles was another one of my opps. Unlike Bob, he wasn't level 50 raid-boss bullshit. Bubbles was a level 20 boss, but for some reason the fight needed lightning elemental damage to beat it. Only lightning damage. Like it. So annoying. I hate the damn devs, man.

Oh yeah elemental damage. That brings me back to the good old days when each boss had an elemental type and elemental damage actually mattered. There were six elements: fire, earth, water, air, uranium, and umbrella. Yes, umbrella. Not sure what sort of element "umbrella" is, but it was for some reason the best element. But you know, I just think the devs were mentally disabled. Now that I realized fire beats water and water beats air and air beats earth which beats fire… why does fire beat water? I guess this isn't a normal game. Not following the norm. Though the strangeness of the game and the devs is why I played this game for seven years. Wow. And now I'm living in it. How romantic. Is that the right word? Not sure. But man, I would not wanna live on this planet at all. I have the will of god and the strange prayer ability that gives me anything, and still I don't wanna be on this planet.

Looks like I'm done with the brief explanation on elements. Time for the real fight.

Or not 'cause it seems like he's chewing on me. Feels warm. Ahh.

Marabell yelled, "Don't enjoy getting eaten and get out of that thing!" She pulled me out of the beast's mouth and sent us both crashing back into the wall.

Damn it, I was enjoying it, I thought. I guess I can't get too mad she did save me. Oh wait, did that use my luck bounce-back? Getting eaten is bad. Damn it. Oh well. I just gotta learn how to use lightning in this fight. It's not like it's based on luck, right?

I opened the elements tab of the system screen. My eyes went wide.

System Message

Tip: A good idea for you is to KILL YOURSELF

Are you kidding me? 1% chance? Also what the hell, system this is your tip? What did I do to deserve this?

Tsk. Well, this is strange though. I feel like unlocking lightning in the game was different but I don't remember, so eh. I shrugged it off. It doesn't matter. Taking who-knows-how-many hits to get lightning is gonna be a pain, but I'm going to kill Bubbles.

And finally the real fight starts.

I pulled out Uncle Infinite's sword equipped with the rope and started swinging at him, going for its eyes. The monster was already pretty close. It bit me with its right head, grabbed my sword, and launched me up in the air, sending me flying. Marabell looked on in fear after I was sent about 30 feet up. Lucky for me, Bubbles let go of my sword so it was able to catch me before I hit the ground. I was sent about 50 feet away.

Then Bubbles looked at Marabell and attacked, headbutting her into the wall and breaking her spine. A loud screech could be heard from her mouth. I was 25 feet away when Bubbles, with its left head, took a bite out of Marabell, killing her instantly and leaving a semi-circle on the back of her body. Bubbles went and chomped on her head. Her guts and intestines came spilling out, dropping onto the ground. Her face went from light to dark. Her face was crying as she tried to reach for me. I looked at her with a blank expression, mouthing the word "help."

And I just stood there for a second, watching as the salamander ate her whole.

Well damn, she's dead. Oh well.

Well, reader, it's not like life has no meaning. It's that my life has been too numb. Though she was a character from a game I liked that has become real, it's not like I really cared for her. Though she was really nice, being able to constantly get kidnapped and lay on her lap I don't care. Seeing her in-game for seven years just to die after meeting her for real after what, 30 minutes? Doesn't faze me at all. Do I care about life and death? No, not really. So what if I die? That's fine. And if I live, that's better. But whether or not I live or die doesn't matter. So why do I go on and live? Because why not. If the world hates me, then I hate the world. If there are thrills in life, then I shall indulge in them. Humans are filled with sin and virtue. If we did not have any one of these we wouldn't be humans after all, no better than monkeys. But because we can be good and evil, which makes us human, we have our humanity. Whether I face god or the devil, I spit on their thrones and take them down. After all, us humans are the ones who adapt to anything and anyone. We are the almighty power that is us.

Man, when did I get philosophical? It felt like someone took over my mind there for a second.

Anyways, damn, that really sucked that Marabell died. Now she can't help me and she's damn useless, doing nothing to help with Bubbles. So-called good teammates, huh?

Bubbles was done digesting before spitting out Marabell's skeleton. Then Bubbles suddenly started exploding from the insides. I looked with confusion. What? Marabell, did you have lightning pots on you? He's taking damage. Half of his HP was gone.

Oh my RNGSUS, you Marabell I take everything back about you. You did good dying.

Wait, isn't this just luck bounce-back?

Ah, whatever. Thanks. It's half HP and most of its insides are gone. What can it do now?

As soon as I said that, Phase 2 started. Its wings were now fully grown dragon ones, able to fly. You could see yellow lightning lights going through each and every vein of its body. Its once sorta-fat body now had wiry muscles with a fierce stare. It looked at me and roared, shaking the whole city, casting lightning down everywhere in the city and the arena.

Meanwhile, in the castle of Pride…

A little girl sat on a throne made out of dead bodies and long greatswords sticking out of each body. Long blonde hair and blue eyes, really ripped warrior clothes. She sat with one knee on the chair, letting her bare feet touch a corpse's cheek. Besides her were two beautiful women, one on each side.

The one on the right spoke. "Madam Pride, it seems that Bubbles is getting serious. Do you think it's the revolutionaries that are attacking us now?"

Pride, with a lowered gaze, paused before speaking. "No. This is a random stranger."

The woman on the right, with mild shock in her voice: "Some random stranger? What you're telling me is that someone unknown did this?"

"Pffft hahahaha no, not at all. I mean he's an unknown loser with zero fame to his name. But to think he tried to take my authority over Pride he is really a strange weirdo," the woman on the left spoke with a lot of worry.

"W-what? You mean he c-can take your authority?"

"Pffft boha haha, you really think so? I'm the only one who's prideful and who deserves this authority. You really think such a lowly scum can beat me?" the woman on the left spoke with more worry in her voice.

"N-no n-no, just the only one who can do that is your family. T-to t-think some o-one un-unknow c-can do it."

"It doesn't matter if he's just a lowly human who lost his girlfriend to Bubbles. I don't think he'll last much longer," the one on the right spoke with a stern voice.

"Hmm, indeed. You're always right. I have to address about this, Pride. What do we do with the revolution that is going on? Our forces are barely holding on and, well, with Bubbles launching lightning everywhere, he's taking out more of our troops."

"Let Bubbles do what he wants. He's such a good boy, you know that." Pride pulled out her spear and quickly pointed it at the woman on the right's neck. With a very deadly look showing off her killing intent, she said, "Don't you dare protect any of the humans, you got me?"

The woman on the right looked at Pride blankly. The woman on the left was skimming around scared that something bad was going to happen. Slowly she bowed, cutting her forehead a bit.

"As you wish, madam." Slowly the spear went away and the woman on the right raised herself.

Back to Lucen.

I got struck with lightning many, many times. I still had 50% of my HP but I was running for my life 'cause Bubbles was chasing me, trying to eat me. I ripped on my sword, getting hit by lightning often but still no lightning element. Bubbles swung at me at the right time. His raining lightning, combined with his swing, caught me and sent me flying into the wall. I spit out blood. Shit, that hurt. I've got 25% of my HP left. I do have a few apples left but it's not worth it on damn Bubbles to heal mid-fight. Nah.

Bubbles went in for a lightning breath attack, firing it at me. Well, you know, maybe a few apples won't hurt. I ate as many apples as I could before getting struck. I was able to eat five apples, keeping me at 5% HP. Damn it, still no lightning element.

I looked at Bubbles, glaring at it.

"Bubbles, you know what? If I'm dying, you're dying with me!" I yelled at the top of my voice. I grabbed Bubbles by the neck and dragged him along the wall, destroying the wall more than my Bubbles. Bubbles could still feel pain of course, so he yelled. I grabbed my old sword, stabbing him in the head.

"Be quiet, you damn salamander!" I thrust it deeper and deeper while I dragged his body along the wall. Bubbles screamed and wiggled for freedom. The pipes were bursting from all over the place. The walls were cracking, looking like they were about to fall. A giant pipe burst and the liquid hit me, knocking me off of Bubbles and flooding the area.

I was barely able to swim, getting onto a giant pile of trash. Looks like I was lucky and it wasn't a mass of poop. I stood up while Bubbles was flying there. The bursting pipes from above made it rain on me. Lightning striking the water made this the only landmass I could stand on. We looked at each other for at least one second before charging at each other. Bubbles tried to snack on me but I jumped over him, going for a stab in the heart. But unfortunately for me, a light lightning strike hit my right arm (which is the arm Lucen uses for his sword), making me drop it.

Crap. I'm at 1% of my HP. Well, it's over. Too bad I didn't win. But if I ever come back to this world I swear I'm going to kill Bubbles.

System Message: Congratulations. You have Unlocked The Lightning Element.

Really? At the point that I was going to die? Huh. Since when did I ever think of quitting? I smiled, still floating in the air.

"Haha, that's right. As long as you live, Bubbles, I'm going to kill you! Even if I die, I am going to come back for you!" A lightning strike was coming at me but without looking I grabbed it with my bare hands and threw it like a spear at Bubbles, hitting the right wing and making him stagger a bit. I grabbed another lightning bolt from the sky and made it rain on Bubbles with rapid motions. I threw and threw lightning bolts.

"How does it feel, Bubbles? Getting killed by your own lightning?" I said in a mocking tone, my face clearly still enraged.

Bubbles was filled with holes in its body, still barely alive. I went for the killing move, using my mana to form a giant lightning spear aiming for the head. It hit, sending Bubbles and the platform underwater, hitting the wall and making the sewer system collapse. I jumped on the lightning bolts, climbing my way up the sewer system, dodging rocks of all sorts of sizes. One big one was about to hit me but I dodged in the nick of time, eventually able to reach the top.

Finally landing on the ground. Oh thank you, RNGSUS. Damn good for the city that there's still barely one of the sewers left, otherwise this place may fall down as well.

Glad that's over. I might as well sleep.

I turned around and saw that I was in a graveyard. Not just any graveyard, the royal graveyard. And with that, zombies and skeletons were coming out of their graves. They had armor, swords, bows, spread axes, and nunchucks. I looked with exhaustion.

"1% HP and a dream," I said, pulling out my sword and going into a fighting stance with a determined look.
