Chapter 161 - Chapter 158

With a swift dash, like a bird of prey, Elena burst into the fray, using her jetpack. In her hands, her plasma rifle spewed streams of red-hot energy, and her shoulder-mounted cannon generously dispensed plasma bolts. In her other hand, a shield shimmered—not the bulky dispersion plate so beloved by the galaxy, but a compact gauntlet-mounted energy shield, forming a circle forty centimeters in diameter. This shield did not hinder her movement, allowing her to intercept enemy plasma blasts and instantly counterattack. For the first time, besides Bastet, another Goa'uld dared to bring female warriors into battle, and their first battle promised to be epic.

The Goa'uld had to learn: having a fleet in orbit of their home planet was not an option, but a requirement. Those who hired Szarekh distracted the enemy fleet, and the army of the Immortals, like an unstoppable whirlwind, descended upon the planet, sowing fire and spilling blood. Montu, one of Ra's vassals, was hired by another vassal of Ra to conquer his planets—an ever-intriguing game of power.

Elena deftly dodged a Jaffa shot and immediately hurled a grenade into the corridor. The plasma charge detonated a split second later, vaporizing all who dared to oppose her. One of the wounded Jaffa wheezed—Elena's shoulder cannon wasn't firing as accurately as she'd hoped. A well-aimed shot to the head granted the warrior eternal peace. The palaces, being the seat of Goa'uld power, required particular diligence when attacking, as they housed the senior command and, of course, the Goa'uld himself.

The Goa'uld still couldn't grasp the idea that their defenses could be bypassed thanks to jetpacks. Yes, they had gliders and anti-aircraft guns capable of incinerating entire squads of Elena's sisters. But Elena wasn't just a rank-and-file fighter; she was an experienced jetpack pilot. She could fly low and fast, literally gliding between streets, and then, using grenades, destroy anti-aircraft systems, artillery, and even heavy plasma cannons. This cleared the way for the air force and armored forces sent to crush Montu's forces into the dirt.

The airborne assault by the landing forces was a complete surprise. Unlike Earth's paratroopers, Szarekh's warriors used rocket packs, allowing them to remain airborne for extended periods and move swiftly across the battlefield. They exploited their advantage, and the battle was already raging within the Goa'uld palace. Elena, despite her high command rank, considered it an honor to fight in the front lines, ready to crush Montu himself if necessary. The Jaffa woman clearly understood that the Goa'uld were not gods. She had seen too much on Urvashi, learned too much from Szarekh himself. However, Elena also realized that her words would be heard by few. Szarekh was a most successful military leader, personally leading his troops. His wife, a talented administrator, together they defied the laws of the Goa'uld Empire and were willing to go to great lengths, including the development of human slaves. Under their rule, planets were transformed from wretched medieval settlements into jewels whose riches Elena had never seen before. So she continued to serve Szarekh, writing her own history into the annals as a great warrior ready to prove her might.

Her squad spotted a figure in rich robes fleeing, followed by a squad of Jaffa, among whom stood a warrior with golden tattoos. Beneath her helmet, Elena bared her teeth and rushed forward, firing accurately. The Jaffa raised their dispersion shields and returned fire. However, they were confronted by the Goa'uld warriors who had created the shields themselves. Using her jetpack, Elena shot forward at incredible speed. Moments before impact, she cut the engine, tumbling down the corridor. In mid-flight, she dropped her rifle and drew her pistols, aiming for the exposed legs of her opponents. The first warrior fell, exposing the others, and most importantly, Monta.

The First Warrior attempted to cover his master, drawing a close-combat mace and aiming for Elena. She, casting aside her pistols, resorted to knives. Her sisters' precise shots, flying inches from her, didn't shake her resolve. Their well-aimed hits took out the remaining guards. Grabbing the First Warrior's mace, the warrior plunged the blade into the enemy's gut, then, using the plasma cannons on her forearms, blasted the last enemy's head off. Montu, his eyes blazing, pointed his hand at her. Stepping out of the line of fire, Elena intercepted his arm and mercilessly broke it. This wouldn't physically harm the Goa'uld, but it would ensure the safety of her sisters. More Jaffa rushed from the corridor, caught in the precise fire of Elena's sisters—each taking a bullet to the chest. Elena captured Montu and killed Gerak.

"Give the order to your troops to surrender! You are now a prisoner of System Lord Szarekh!" her synthesized voice boomed.

"I'll kill you, I'll torture you..." Montu began. Without a hint of respect, Elena kicked him with her sturdy boot and put the gun to his head.

"I don't care what you think. Only Lord Szareh's will matters. He won't care whether I kill you or not."

"God cannot be killed, I am God!!!"

"The Lord gave me the power to cast down gods, blessed me, and now I can do it," she said quickly, as if reciting a memorized script. "You will die, for my weapons and armor bear the inscriptions of Szarekh's blessing. I am his warrior, and a part of his power is within me."

Meanwhile, the female Immortal Legion was relentlessly sweeping through Montu's armed forces. The raiders strafed the enemy, targeting aircraft and artillery, while heavy armored units, thanks to their antigravity engines, quickly and effectively destroyed all forces that attempted to oppose them. News of Montu's capture, reinforced by propaganda drones, quickly spread across the planet. Many Jaffa began to surrender, but some, deceiving the vigilance of Szarekh's warriors, struck when they believed them to have surrendered. Women did not forgive such behavior, and no one did. Elena ordered the flamethrowers to be brought up.

A false surrender was unacceptable. As punishment for such a crime, entire units were destroyed without mercy. Unfortunately, Elena had no chemical weapons, but the flamethrowers made her point perfectly. They had won fairly, and fools would no longer kill her sisters, exploiting their vulnerability. This must become the rule: such retribution for false surrender must frighten the Jaffa themselves, for there will be no forgiveness for anyone.

The Sisters of Helena raised the banner of Szarekh over the palace of Montu – a banner known throughout the galaxy, a symbol of victory, announcing the arrival of the galaxy's finest warriors, earning their wages.

Elena sent a message of victory, handing over both Montu and the planet to Szarekh. Her name will now grace the hall of fame as the conqueror of her first planet. But this is only the beginning. She will conquer thousands of planets, if necessary, forever immortalizing herself as the greatest warrior of the Tetrarchy, surpassing even Imotekh.
