The great collapse has swallowed 80% of the world's population while 5% are either dead or injured due to the destruction caused by this Black rift .The sky split like cracked glass.
One moment — quiet. The next — a scream from the earth. Light poured from the rift, not bright, but *wrong* — shifting colors, melting stone. People vanished mid-step. Buildings folded into nothing.
Arthur was there.
Saw it all.
And in the chaos — a whisper in his blood:
*"You were made for this."*
Then — darkness.
Arthur opens his eyes — and knows, instantly, he's not on Earth anymore.
The sky is bruised purple, two moons hanging low. Trees glow faintly, roots pulsing like veins. The air hums — not with sound, but *memory*.
He stumbles up. No ruins. No city. Just endless fields of black grass, swaying in silence.
And above him — a fractured dome of light… like the sky is *caged*.
He's not just in another place.
He's in the *after* —
the world that grew from the Collapse… the world was broken.
And he was changed. Arthur whirls around — and there he is.
Arthur stumbles forward, breath ragged. "Mom? Kierran? *Layla!*"
He sprints through the glowing fields, shouting names into the wind — but no echo answers. No footprints. No signs of anyone.
Just silence.
Then — a flicker.
A shadow in the distance.
He turns — "*Lucas?!*"
But it's gone.
Alone, under alien moons, the truth hits:
They're not here.
Or worse — they never made it *through*.
Kierran, grinning, dusty but alive. "Took you long enough to notice," he says, nudging Arthur's shoulder. "You've been running in circles for ten minutes."
Relief floods through Arthur — so strong it nearly knocks him over.
But something's… off.
Kierran's shadow doesn't move when he does.
And his smile?
It doesn't quite reach his eyes.
The screen flickers — expanding:

Arthur stares — his world just got a lot more complicated.
( Three days later )
Arthur and Kierran were walking in a forest looking for Tom until ...
The forest darkens as the three-headed Headhound emerges — each head a nightmare of its own.
Arthur dodges a snapping jaw, rolls, and
fires a burst of **Black flames ** — one head *turned to a crisp *, Arthur then nods at Kierran .
Kierran leaps, blue flames blazing from his fists, slamming into the second head — cracking its metal skull.
But the third — the ancient one — *speaks*:
**"You are already lost."**
It lunges — fangs bared —
just as Arthur shouts, "*Now!*"
Kierran hurls fire into its eyes —
and Arthur drives a void-charged kick into its core located in its chest.
The beast howls — then collapses, dissolving into ash and whispers.
Breathing hard, Arthur mutters, "...We're getting better."
Kierran grins. "Yeah. Too bad the easy part's over."
(Two hours later : Night time)
Arthur and Kierran follow a narrow path through the trees — and break into a clearing.
A still lake glows under the twin moons. Mist curls off the water.
And there — sitting on a rock, fishing rod in hand — is an old man in a worn coat. Calm. Silent. Like he's been waiting forever.
Arthur hesitates. "...Tom?"
The old man doesn't turn. Just reels in his line — empty hook.
Then, without looking: "Took you long enough. I was starting to think I'd have to fish you out of the lake instead."
Tom finally turns, eyes sharp beneath his hat. "Saw you coming," he says. "System pinged me. *'Allies inbound. High anomaly risk.'*"
He taps his temple. "Still got my link. Unlike some."
Before Arthur can respond, their screens flash:
** JOB CHANGE QUEST: "Mother's Return"**
**Objective:** Rescue Alexi from the Black Spire
**Time Remaining:** 12 days
**Warning:** Seal degrades at 72-hour intervals
Tom stands, tossing his rod aside. "So. Twelve days to save her… and probably break the world doing it."
He smirks. "You two ready to stop messing around?"
Suddenly The notification pulses red:
** FAILURE CONDITION: DEATH BIND**
If the team fails — *one of you will not return*.
The system chooses. No appeal.
Tom grimaces. "So it's playing for keeps now."
Arthur stares at the message —
this isn't just a mission.
It's a *sentence*.
Tom taps the lake's surface with his cane — ripples glow faintly, showing ghostly traces of Arthur and Kierran's earlier fight.
"Wasteful," he mutters. "You two burned through Aether like it's free. Saw it in the water — trails of void residue. Anyone could track you."
He turns, serious. "If you're gonna survive the Black Spire, you need control. Not power. *Precision.*"
"Starting now — I teach you how to channel Void Resonance without draining your soul… or lighting up the damn map for every monster out here."
Arthur and Kierran look at each other — then back at Tom.
"Teach us," they say at the same time — firm, in sync.
Tom smirks. "Good. First lesson: stop relying on the System… and start feeling the Aether *before* it moves. Aether or void resonance is everywhere and anywhere . It's not going to be easy but I can guarantee that once you learn how to use it efficiently you two will be the strongest "
The lake stills.
The training begins...
