After finishing his dinner, Adam dozed off in the chair.
Kyle carried him to the bedroom, gently laid him on the bed, and pulled a blanket over him.
"I should text Blake and let him know Adam is staying over," he muttered.
Naturally, in that state Adam wouldn't be going back.
As he stepped out of the room, he found Amanda already picking up her bag.
"Hmm? It's only eight. Leaving so soon?" he asked.
Amanda nodded with a sheepish smile.
"I'm having dinner with my relatives. My cousin invited all of us to celebrate his wedding anniversary."
Kyle let out a soft hum.
"So that's why your phone kept ringing."
She nodded again.
"They've all arrived already. But it's fine. It's not like my absence would stop them from talking."
Amanda only needed to make an appearance and stay for the meal. If her father hadn't insisted, she would have happily spent the entire evening with Kyle.
Especially knowing he would soon be leaving for the academy.
