Ivan Vanko stood with his back to Qin Xiao, his entire focus on Tony in front of him.
Qin Xiao seized the opportunity, his Tang Dao slicing directly into the battle armor.
Like the Iron Monger, ordinary alloys couldn't withstand the system-produced Tang Dao.
Moreover, Whiplash's armor was far thinner than the Iron Monger's.
"Die!"
Qin Xiao drove the blade deeper with fierce determination.
*Clang!* A violent recoil sent a shockwave through his arm.
The Tang Dao had struck something hard, refusing to budge.
"What is that? A special alloy?"
Before Qin Xiao could react, a crackling sound erupted from the back of Whiplash's armor.
A metal whip, crackling with newly charged energy, lashed out from his spine and slammed into Qin Xiao's chest. Caught off guard, he was sent flying backward.
Fortunately, Qin Xiao instinctively tightened his grip on the Tang Dao during the impact, preventing the weapon from being ripped from his grasp and left embedded in Whiplash's armor.
Sent flying over ten meters and rolling several more meters across the ground, Qin Xiao finally stopped and got a clear look.
The spine-like exoskeleton on Whiplash's back was articulated, extending downward from the neck like a whip-tailed tail.
Qin Xiao had just been caught off guard by a whip from Whiplash.
"Surprised? How could I forget you were with Stark? Besides this tail, I have to thank that idiot Hammer. In his desperate attempt to surpass Stark, he rushed to order some gold-titanium alloy after I created the Arc Reactor, wanting to build his own battle armor like Stark's. That worked out well for me."
"The lining of this battle armor is entirely made of gold-titanium alloy. Your weapons can't cut through it, can they? Haha!"
The tail of the Whiplash lashed violently against the ground, cracking the concrete.
"You've certainly exceeded my expectations. But do you really think this turtle shell of yours, plus that tail, makes you invincible? Your weapons can't hurt me at all. I'll just slowly chip away at your shell, layer by layer."
Qin Xiao twirled his right hand, a confident smirk playing on his lips.
*Even if you're covered in gold-titanium alloy, you're still no match for me once your energy runs out.*
Setting aside raw strength, Qin Xiao had inherited some of the Hulk's durability and regenerative abilities, putting him at an inherent advantage from the start.
"You're indeed formidable. Facing you, running is the only sensible option. But what about Stark? Can you save him before I kill him?"
As Whiplash spoke, he tightened his grip, and Tony's battle armor gouged several deep trenches into the ground.
"Damn it!"
Qin Xiao couldn't afford to gamble. He cursed and charged straight at Whiplash.
But Whiplash's tail was incredibly agile. The folded tail unfurled completely, transforming into a whip over three meters long that swept the area in a deadly, impenetrable arc.
Qin Xiao slashed at the tail with his Tang Dao several times, only to discover it was also made of gold-titanium alloy. Unless he focused his attacks on a single spot and struck dozens of times, he couldn't breach its defenses.
"Tony, you might have to hold on a little longer!" Qin Xiao retreated from the whip's range after a few more clashes, his voice filled with urgency.
His mind raced, searching for another solution.
"Try attacking his joints! That thick armor, plus three Arc Reactors—he can't possibly put all the wiring and sensors in the lining. It would be too much weight to carry!" Tony's voice was slightly distorted, indicating the whip had already caused minor damage to his armor.
Hearing this, Qin Xiao's eyes lit up.
Qin Xiao suddenly lunged to the right of the Whiplash, kicking off the ground with his right foot as the whip's tail swung past.
He dodged to the left, but the whip's tail reacted with astonishing speed, whistling through the air and curving sharply to strike from the side.
"You son of a bitch!" Qin Xiao cursed, enduring a heavy lash across his back as he clamped his left arm around the whip's leg.
With his right hand, he plunged the Tang Dao into the knee. A powerful force surged through his back.
Clutching the whip's leg with his left arm, Qin Xiao leveled the Tang Dao and used the whip's momentum to spin it nearly a full circle around the leg. The blade itself completed half a circle around the limb.
Just as Tony had predicted, the rotating blade shredded the leg's internal wiring and sensor systems, sending sparks flying.
*If it works, we can handle this!*
Qin Xiao immediately set his sights on the right leg.
The Whiplash, having been countered, grew anxious. Yet it refused to release Tony Stark. One whip remained coiled around Tony's neck, while a wheel at its arm tightened the grip on Tony's battle armor. The other whip blurred into a shadow, joining the tail in a furious assault on Qin Xiao.
Qin Xiao chuckled, kicking off the ground.
He flipped head over heels, sliding up the right arm of the Whiplash with his right leg.
He'd learned this move from Black Widow, though she used it to twist her thigh around someone's neck.
With a plan in place, everything became manageable, especially since Qin Xiao wasn't afraid of the Whiplash's attacks.
He dodged whenever possible, gritted his teeth and took the hits he couldn't avoid, and used the momentum from the impacts to scramble up the Whiplash's body.
Sparks flew from every inch of the Whiplash.
It felt like he was hacking at live wires with a cleaver.
*Badass and electric!*
After a dizzying display of maneuvers, the extensive damage to the circuits and sensors finally triggered a chain reaction.
Even in areas he hadn't directly cut, the Whiplash erupted in countless sparks.
The three whips, including the tail, all went dark, slumping limply to the ground.
Qin Xiao finally jumped down from Whiplash, standing still and taking a deep breath.
He didn't know how many whips he'd taken, but the pain hadn't registered until now. Now, his body burned with a fiery ache.
However, thanks to his twisted regenerative abilities, the pain quickly turned numb and itchy, then gradually subsided to normal.
Tony also stood up from the ground, his battle armor severely deformed around the neck. Another moment of strangulation and he would have been done for.
*Spending money truly is the key.* If Justin Hammer had ordered enough gold-titanium alloy to build a full suit of armor for Whiplash, Qin Xiao would have had to avenge Tony today.
"The battle armor you designed isn't a tank; it doesn't need so many reactors. That would only compromise its flexibility. But it looks like you've increased the rotational speed and power output—great idea!"
