Chapter 74 - An Eye for an Eye

In the jianghu, one's life is not their own!

Many decisions are made not by personal will, but by the pressures of circumstance.

Yet every choice carries its own consequences, for better or worse.

The impact of these consequences varies with one's capabilities.

For an ordinary family, losing hundreds of thousands overnight could ruin them for life.

But for a billionaire, such a loss is trivial; the next day they could earn it back with interest.

This is the difference between the rich and the poor, the strong and the weak!

Han Shaoqing might not be particularly strong in the Marvel Universe, but on Earth, few could truly defeat him.

He had let go of his inhibitions, no longer caring if his actions might attract the attention of entities like the A.A.O. or the Time Variance Authority.

If they came, they would come eventually. Better to live boldly than to cower in fear.

As Wu Shihow said, "Life and death are fated, wealth and honor are heaven-sent!"

Overthinking was pointless.

Whoever dared to provoke him, Han Shaoqing would strike them down, with a clear conscience.

*Bang! Bang! Bang!*

As Erik controlled the missile cruiser to bombard the fleet, Moira raised her gun and fired at Magneto without hesitation.

Her stance was clear: America might abandon her, but she could never abandon her homeland.

Her patriotism was commendable!

Yet choosing the wrong side and employing the wrong methods would inevitably lead to consequences.

"Don't get in the way!"

Before Erik could intervene, Han Shaoqing used gravity to deflect all the bullets back.

"Ah!!"

Moira had fired six shots, and all six bullets ricocheted back, piercing through her limbs and shoulders. She collapsed to the ground, blood gushing from her wounds.

"Moira!"

Seeing the woman he loved bleeding out, Charles panicked. His Telepathy surged, overwhelming the White Queen's suppression.

Wanting to avoid further complications, Han Shaoqing knocked the agitated Charles unconscious, restoring peace.

Moira wasn't dead, but six gunshot wounds were devastating. Without special treatment, she would never walk again.

With no one to interfere, under Erik's control, the missiles and shells returned to their origin, blooming in a brilliant display of light.

*Boom! Boom! Boom!*

The fleet on the sea erupted into a fiery inferno. Amidst the relentless explosions, human bodies appeared pathetically fragile.

In an instant, the flowers of life withered under the barrage, leaving only a handful of survivors to leap from the burning ships.

"Look at what you've done!" Moira glared at Erik and Han Shaoqing, her body writhing like a maggot, her eyes burning with fury.

"What have we done? We've simply finished what they wanted to do but failed. I gave them a chance. Or do you think their attack was justified and our retaliation is a heinous crime?" Han Shaoqing stepped forward, his face contorted with disdain.

Undeniably, Moira was a skilled agent, but she was far from a good person—she was a walking disaster.

In *X-Men: First Class*, Moira's actions left Charles half-paralyzed and drove him and Erik apart.

In *X-Men: Apocalypse*, her reconnaissance led to Apocalypse's awakening, resulting in Charles's baldness and near transformation into Apocalypse's new vessel. Erik's wife and daughter also died indirectly because of her.

The entire city of Cairo suffered because of Moira's actions.

Yet, after all this, Moira was promoted and received a raise, living quite comfortably.

*This must be the American brand of heroism!*

Most people only see the heroic feats of superheroes resolving crises.

They fail to realize that many of these disasters were actually caused by those very same "superheroes"!

Unaware of Han Shaoqing's thoughts, Moira, seeing his dismissive attitude, angrily retorted, "That was six thousand lives! What's the difference between what you did and what Shaw did?"

Hearing Moira's passive-aggressive words, Han Shaoqing couldn't help but roll his eyes. "The difference is that I'm reasonable. I'll return a foot for every inch you give me. I'm not one to kill needlessly, but anyone who dares to harm my people becomes my enemy."

"When it comes to enemies, I wouldn't hesitate to slaughter sixty thousand, six million, even six hundred million if necessary."

Han Shaoqing's words were resolute. Without moral constraints, no one could hold him hostage.

The soldiers were right to follow orders, and it was equally right for him to have Erik retaliate in kind.

The difference was that when the warship attacked, Erik shielded them, but when Erik counterattacked, the enemy was annihilated.

"It's that simple!"

Han Shaoqing looked coldly at Moira, his voice tinged with impatience. "You tried to shoot Erik, so you deserved to die. I didn't aim for a vital spot out of respect for the Professor."

He turned to Erik. "If you want to deal with her, I won't stop you. After all, she attacked you, and you have every right to decide her fate."

"Never mind. Charles would be devastated if she died."

Erik didn't want to lose his good brother Charles over a woman.

Moira was already severely injured, and Erik considered this punishment sufficient.

Han Shaoqing patted Erik's shoulder. "See? Such a kind-hearted man, forced to become an executioner by you! Erik doesn't want to be a good person or live an ordinary life; you just refuse to give him the chance."

Erik felt awkward being called kind, but the latter part of Han Shaoqing's words struck a chord deep within him.

He only wanted a warm, ordinary home, but in his youth, **his parents had been murdered, leaving him orphaned and filled with nothing but hatred.**

From then on, he embarked on a path of vengeance, yet never harmed the innocent, always adhering to his principles.

After meeting Charles, Han Shaoqing, and the others, Erik once again felt the warmth of home.

Erik was a deeply emotional person, the strong, silent type with a tender heart. In his mind, he had already come to regard Charles, Han Shaoqing, and the others as his family.

Yet now, those humans, driven by fear of mutants' power, sought to harm his family once more.

Erik would never allow such a thing to happen.

Hank, standing nearby, watched the war-torn fleet on the sea with a pang of sympathy. "They're victims too!"

Turning to Hank, Han Shaoqing said sternly, "Reality is cruel. Remember this: mercy toward enemies is cruelty toward oneself. If our strength weren't sufficient, those pitiful souls dying here today would be us."

"You can be kind, but never weak. If anyone tries to bully you, clench your fists and hit back twice as hard."

Mystique Raven nodded in deep agreement, her gaze toward Han Shaoqing growing increasingly gentle, even bordering on adoration.

Alex, Darwin, Sean, and the others were all deeply convinced by Han Shaoqing's words, becoming his steadfast supporters.
