Everyone was now back to sitting at the long table, everyone looked guilty at what had transpired for eves dropping. Everyone except for Luminous, Velzard and Diablo that is.
"Ok now that you guys have heard a lot of sensitive information, let's move through all this carefully. Firstly Yuura, what are your thoughts on me tampering with your body?" I started with the one that I basically violated at the cellular level.
"Honestly… at first I felt a bit angry but I see this as nothing but a blessing. So for you and that unknown collaborator, I truly thank you." Yuura said gently and cheerfully.
"Jeez, I was expecting a little anger from you. You're way too nice for your own good." I said in complaint, "Your both way too human and way too demon."
"And whose fault do you think that is?" Yuura said with an eyebrow raised.
Simon: " Touche."
Rimuru: " That was quick, you have such forgiving surbordinates, it's kinda concerning."
Simon: " Agreed. Their compliance with such actions as unconsentual experimentations on them is so absurd that I'm starting to worry about their self preservation instincts."
Yuura: " I would never refuse because I know that you would never subject me to something unless you're absolutely sure that it wouldn't harm me."
The moment her words fell, all of my surbordinates presents unanimously nodded they heads without hesitation.
Gehrman: " Infact, we all worry about you because we know that when you're not sure about the lethality of a new product, you experiment on yourself and frankly you worry us Milord."
The guests from Tempest and Lubelius all looked at me with horrified expressions. I just rubbed the temples of my head as I felt a headache coming up, " Please stop looking at me like that."
Rimuru: " You know, on the topic of worrying about Simon, what is this about Egoblight?" Every resident looked at Rimuru in hesitation and then shifted their gaze towards me in concern, " Don't look at me like that. I've heard you and Treyni talk about it before so spill it!"
Me and Velzard looked at eachother in worry and hesitation. The message that Velzard was trying was he's your friend and you're should trust him with such a secret, stop keeping to yourself.
I just sighed and relented, "Fine then, firstly let me correct the misconception that this is an illness."
"It… isn't?" Rimuru was extremely confused.
Simon: "Egoblight is a psychological disorder born from my ultimate skill."
This made the entire room very cold, everyone fell thoughtful and began contemplating the meaning of my words.
Bacchus: " If I may to ask freely, are you implying that your skill is going against you?"
" That is correct, something that literally goes against the laws of what skills can do. Now do you see the dilemma that I'm in? Evens a god is bound by the laws of existence but my own illness aren't." I said while showcasing a deprecating smile to the room.
Nyx then put her hand up, " I think I know why you can't cure your ailment. I found something out a while back and I feel like now is a good time to reveal it."
" Oh, and how long have you held onto this information… that could possibly detrimental to my life and the lives of millions aswell?" My words came out very coldly.
The coldness of my voice caused her to flinch, "Hey I'm sorry! Do you want to know or not!?"
" Fine but we need to have a long chat after this about you keeping secrets like this." I said in exhaustion.
Nyx looked at me with a very displeased face, but she went along with what I wanted to say, " A couple years back, when I was researching your body and soul, your soul brought some very interesting insights. There is an unusual amount of Infons making up your heart core and most of them are moving independently of your command."
Most people in the room were confused by most of the words that Nyx had just said but when they saw the distraught look on my face, they realized that the gravity of the situation was much more serious then they anticipate.
Then the saint of water, Litus decided to be brave and break the tense atmosphere, "Um, what is so serious about this?"
I looked at the scared saints and calmed myself down, " I assume majority of you are unaware of what a Manas is?"
My words caused confusion amongst most of the people present and they all nodded their heads hesitantly.
" Then let me explain, Manas are a type of informational lifeforms that are without a soul. To exist they have to have a host in which they would either coexist peacefully… and attempt to parasitise them and take their body and skills for themselves." I explained with a grave expression.
Everyone in the room looked in shock at the information provided, all except for Velzard, me and Nyx.
Nyx spoke up with a calm expression, "You didn't let me finish. There are two Manas attached to you at the moment."
"PFFT!!" As I was drinking tea to calm down, I spat it back out,"You can't just spring that on me!"
"Yeah, sorry for that but that was meant to be good news. Judging by the movement and interaction of Information particles, these two Manas are at odds with each other."
Those words made me pause in confusion, 'Wouldn't they be working together to parasitise me together?'
"One of them seems desperately to corrupt you, as such they are cause of Egoblight, I suspect their intention is to completely take over you body but they can't because of the other. The other seems to be very committed to protecting, locking away the other to keep you safe." Nyx explained.
Me and Velzard were currently sitting next to each other at the end of the table. As Nyx was explaining, Velzard's hand reached for mine and grabbed it, our fingers intertwined as I felt her scales against my skin and I felt myself getting much calmer.
Velzard also grew calmer as she felt my hold tighten around hers, the concern and turmoil she felt for me was slowly receeding.
