"You…understand?" Gobta was instantly confused by this answer and the behaviour displayed by the man.
Kevin stood up straight again, "You sound surprised?"
Benimaru then got curious, "Do you openly defy the man you serve, are you a traitor to him?"
Kevin: "Don't get me wrong, I still hold extreme faith and loyalty towards Simon but that faith and loyalty isn't blind. If Rimuru ever did something like this, would you just blindly accept it?"
Hearing that, everyone went silent, they tried to form a sentence but kept silent. Seeing this reaction, Kevin looked slightly surprised, "So you would? Well, that's disappointi-"
Gobta: "I wouldn't."
Kevin: "You wouldn't?"
Gobta: "I get the point you're making about blind faith, but that still doesn't make me understand why he did what he did… or I guess didn't."
Kevin: " My ultimate point is that if one event can shake your faith then clearly you had non of it in the first place. I won't make excuses for Simon nor will I ever justify what he did but I will not leave nor betray him… evens if it means being hated alongside him."
Benimaru: "So then why would you remain loyal to someone who's actions you abhor?"
Kevin looked at Benimaru and contemplated his answer, "It's because I understand him. His actions are terrible but his intent was for others benefit and frankly… it's infuriating."
Everyone looked at Kevin was a bit of strangeness when they heard the anger in those last words, " He always throws away everything for others sake and in the end, he just damages both parties… and yet in the end he simply welcomes everyone's hatred like it's so easy." After raving for so long, Kevin had realized his emotional outburst and calmed himself down.
" My point is that mistakes can be made and sometimes when your friend makes a mistake, the best you can do is simply be there for them, no matter how heinous of an act they've committed. Don't worry though, I will find a way to correct his idiotic behaviour."
Hakurou: "May I ask? Why is it that you follow Lord Simon, it doesn't seem to be a case of being defeated in combat or any other conventional way of receiving someone's loyalty?"
Kevin was not expecting this question so he decided to go from the top, "I was created when Milord was experimenting with the power of angels, I came about as a hybrid of a human, angel and dragon. He spent thousands of years personally training for no reason other than curiosity."
"He trained me in combat, construction and evens mundane stuff such as house chores but there was one thing that he emphasized the most was choice."
" I can still remember, he always repeated the same line to me, When you have a chance to make a choice, make one that you know you won't regret."
" After all that training, instead of forcing me to work for him, he gave me a choice, to this day, he has always given me a choice. Simon is a man who wants loyalty, he wants love, he truly couldn't care that he's a god and that… I find that beautiful."
The entire room went silent, some wanted to clap, some wanted to cry. At the doorway there were two people sniffling their noses, " Kevin, that was… that was just beautiful."
Everyone turned their heads to the doorway and found Kaijin and a mysterious pink haired women, both of whom were crying at the beautiful speech that Kevin had just made.
Shuna: " Kaijin, who might this-"
Kevin: " Yuura? What are you doing here?"
The moment Kevin was able to identify the individual, they knew they this person worked under Simon and it was most likely someone high up in his forces. The Kijin didn't know who she was but the goblins have done outside work before and Kaijin has meet her before.
Gobta: "Wait, Yuura!? As in the Chaos demoness Yuura?"
Kevin turned towards Gobta, "That very one but the question is why is she here?"
Yuura walked up to Kevin and wrapped her arms around him from behind, "Now don't be such a buzz kill, I wanted to see where you and Master suddenly disappeared too. What is this place anyway?"
Kevin: "This is the Jura-Tempest federation."
Yuura looked surprised by this information, "This is it? That's sad, Master said this was a beautiful town with such nice people. I didn't expect it to be in such a dilapidated condition."
Kevin nodded in agreement, "That's what I said to that Goblin lord Rigurd. Well, how much of what I said did you hear?"
"Oh not everything, just about… everything." Yuura spoke awkwardly trying not to get caught doing something she wasn't meant too.
" Hah, well it's ok, I don't mind. Afterall, I doubt you'd tell Milord about any of this not need to tell Milord about all these things." Kevin said in resignation.
" Yeah, he probably already knows everything that just came out… and if not then he probably had already foretold it and saw it coming awhile ago." Yuura confirmed.
" You guys know me so well. I'm actually a little flattered." A voice came from the door. Everyone turned their heads and found Simon, Rimuru and Rigurd standing there.
" Are you mad at me for what I said Milord cause everything I said is from the heart and I meant it all." Kevin said to me with conviction, a defiance that made everyone slightly scared.
But Simon just lightly shoke his head. " No, if anything I'm quite proud you can make your own choices and stick to your own ideals instead of just blindly following me…"
When everyone heard that, they released a massive sigh of relief as they had initially expected a fight or a scolding but the fact that Simon had not only accepted his surbordinates defiance but also approved of it had warped what they understood of Simon.
"…Although I am curious as to what you could possibly do to correct my idiotic behaviour." Simon said to Kevin curiously.
"Well then…" Kevin took a deep breath, "Lord Simon, if you don't correct your behaviour then I will inform lady Velzard about what you did!"
The room went silent, no sound was made except for a crash to the ground. They all looked to the sound and found Simon slumped down onto his knees with a face of despair, "Fine I'll-I'll be better."
Yuura looked at Kevin with exasperation, "Wow, really punched him where it hurts huh."
But Kevin remained firm with his decision, " It was necessary."
