Chapter 85 - Blanc's new journey

The man giggled to Blanc's apprehension of him, "You need not worry, I'm not really someone who cares about being your enemy. If you want you can attack me and I'll respond in kind to the best of my abilities."

Blanc was surprised by this mans casual demeanor towards her and pondered one question, "Do you have any idea of who you're provoking right now?"

"I do, Primordial demon white, Blanc. Correct?"

"Yes and yet you dare come into here with such a casual demeanor?" Blanc wasn't threatening him, she was just curious about this individual.

Her next answer she needed was how this person was her, out of curiosity she began poking his left shoulder.

Seeing her childish curiosity made the man giggle, "I can assure you I am very real."

"You seem so casual about being near me, are you not afraid of being near such a powerful creature?"

" What do I have to fear? In my eyes, you all seem like such a lonely species. Burdened to separate yourself from others simply because of the nature inherent in your species."

Blanc was surprised by his deduction, she didn't confirm or deny his claim. Yet the moment his words fell Blanc began to question her entire life since the dawn of time, 'Are we really at fault for our own failures?'

Noticing Blanc's contemplative look, the man began to strike at something unexpected, " Did you feel anything after Blanche's death?"

Only now did alarm bells ring in Blanc's mind and she became ready to attack and analysed the man for some sort of weakness. The man on the other hand had kept his gaze on her, she could tell he was looking for an answer.

"Fine, do you want to know what I felt, well the answer is simple, I don't know. I knew I felt something that day, something so painful but I don't know what it was I felt."

"Let me guess, from that day onwards you pushed yourself to never feel such emotions ever again because those emotions felt like a foreign invasion and thus it felt more like a threat than anything else."

Blanc went silent, she was horrified of this man who in a couple minutes made her question her own existence.

The man spoke with a hint of concern, "Don't think about it too much, as a demon, you'll probably just drive yourself crazy making sense of it."

She couldn't help it yet there was something still on her mind, " Why would you bring something like this up all of a sudden?"

The man pointed towards the flying Yuura who had combatted Jaune's nuclear strikes with raw strength, " You won't admit it but you've been wondering this whole time how she could be so powerful, so invigorating and so stimulating to be around. You won't admit it but you're so drawn to her."

Blanc didn't dismiss the man's words immediately, the entire conversation had been making her more open-minded, " Do you believe I yearn for comfort like humans?"

" Are you denying it like I said you would?"

Blanc couldn't combat this guy. Right now she just gave up and watched the fight conclude and then at Violet who was unconscious and was caringly put down on the luxurious couch and she smiled, "You're more of a monster than I ever will be."

The man chuckled, "I won't deny that."

The battle finally conclude with Yuura winning against the four primordials.

"I win!" Yuura threw her arms into the air as she had triumphed over her siblings.

"Tsk you just got lucky. I wasn't even going my full power." Jaune stubbornly refused to admit that her sister was stronger than her.

" Then why don't we do that again."

Jaune shook her head vigorously. The paralyzing fear of Yuura had been cemented in Jaune's mind.

When they entered Blanc's castle to check up on those two, they found a surprising scene.

Blanc was having tea with a random new man, a man who was rubbing Violet's head so lavishly that she was drooling and purring, complete destroying any defenses that she might have had before.

"Wow. I never knew you would allow someone else to spoil you so." Noir teased Violet.

Hearing Noir's tease made her immediately sit up straight and shouting out her defense, "It wasn't me, it was him… wait who are you anyway?!"

The room went silent as the man just looked at the man ready to vaporize him.

That was until Yuura spoke up with excitement while jumping at the man, " Hello master!"

The rest of the room went silent as it was Yuura now that was getting the cat rubbing treatment.

"So you are Pneuma." Blanc smiled from across the table.

"Oh, you knew?"

"I had my suspicions."

This man had seemingly tamed their warhead of a sister, of their strength combined couldn't take her down then how powerful was he?

"Master did you see my spectacular performance!?"

"I did and frankly you shouldn't be so mean to your siblings like that." I feighned scolding her.

"Huh, but they need to be disciplined sometimes! Not to mention that I need someone who I can actually compete with."

I was speechless by her reasoning, "Are you serious, you can't beat me so instead you go and beat your siblings? You're unbelievable."

"Shut up! I promise that one day I will defeat you in battle and make you submit!"

I giggled at her dream, "I look forward to it."

————————————————

Everyone had left and it was me, Blanc and Yuura within the castle.

Yuura had gone off to annoy the demons in Blanc's care, leaving me and Blanc alone.

"Pneuma-"

"It's just Simon?"

"Ok then, Simon. The stuff you said about how you feel saddened by the nature of demons, you weren't refering to Yuura were you?"

Listening to Blanc's question, I decided to explain myself, "There are actually two things that I am saddened about demons nature. The first was the fact that you can't respond properly to emotion… the second is the lack of ambition."

" Lack? Demons quite literally are the incarnations of desires. Are they not the same thing?"

" No their not. Think of it like this, desire is the fuel while ambition is the execution of such desire."

Blanc seemed to finally get the message that he was putting out, "You don't like that demons don't have ambition, do you?" Blanc spoke in a deprecating tone.

" I don't. What's the point of having such strong desires and nothing to use it for. Demons are slaves to both their own desires and infinite life span. Doomed to forever walk creation without any fulfilment or satisfaction for you existence. Are you satisfied with that?"

Blanc caught the gaze of Simon, he gaze seemed to carry a trace of pity and sorrow. For the first time in eternity, she couldn't met someone's gaze because she couldn't really find an answer to his question.

"Now you see, that's where Yuura comes in. She has neither of those flaws, everyday I see that girl try to achieve a goal no matter how small it is. Everyday I see that girl explore the world to the best of her abilities and understand those around her. And everyday that girl expresses herself as much as possible." I spoke about Yuura with some much pride, a pride that Blanc could feel.

Feeling that pride emanating from me made Blanc feel envy for her newly born sister, " What's your conclusion in this?"

"My point is that to my eyes Yuura is the perfect demon. So full of not only desire but also ambition, the ambition to always be better. Harnessing the ability to know what she feels and express it without complications."

Blanc gripped her dress, but has come up with something new to work for, "Simon, if I'm being honest, the last time you came here you stoked my interest and wanted to serve you to see what you would offer to my life, but now I see that I need to work on myself."

I looked at the white primordial who had eyes burning with determination, " Lord Simon, I will search for my ambition, for my goal and I will find a way to feel and express myself to the fullest of my abilities. When the day comes that I achieve these goals, would you please allow me to be your surbordinate?"

Seeing the white Primordial kneeling before me holding out her hand like it was some sort of proposal, I was entranced, not by her looks but by the fire in her heart.

I took her hand and a triquetra began to form on the back side of her hand, " When you feel you have completed your journey at finding your reason for living then all you need to desire it and you will come to my side."

And just like that I had gained the supreme loyalty of Blanc without realising the extent of it.
